Project Cartography

To document all explorable areas (renown hearts/karma merchants, sub areas, jump challenges, skill points, areas of interest, vista,...)

Methodology[edit]

We are here to map everything and we're going to enjoy it! :D We currently follow the location formatting decided on by the community. There is also a collection of handy templates in the appendix. If you are working on a large edit please list it in the started section so other people do not edit over what your doing.

PoI Images[edit]

It seems like this project was largely for the initial release of the game in 2012, but lots of zones have come out since then! Therefore, I want to show them some love too, by ensuring that all points of interest have an image of some variety. Everything that does not have an image is either getting one from me, or getting a stub tag.

EDIT Spet 19, 2020: Category:Locations missing a screenshot was created which tracks this, so we no longer need to add stubs to everything.

If anyone sees this and wants to help out, I basically just open each poi page and see if it has an image with it. If it does, I leave it. If it doesn't, I add {{stub|location|missing image}} in curly brackets at the top of the page. Expanded the overview and added check marks. All zones listed have been checked for the POI images. {{no}} tags mark zones with missing images. If only one or two are missing they are written down. All have stubs added on the respective pages. —Kvothe (talk) 10:20, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
Wow, thanks! Your formatting has been a great help. I wanted to let you know also that I made my own version of the poi stub list in my sandbox which sorts things by the area that they are in rather than the name of the poi, though it isn't very pretty. Perhaps it could be more useful for you or someone else. AnastashaRomanov (talk) 06:38, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

    • Add a navigation bar to renown hearts
    • Converted the hierarchy to the new system (hearts are listed by area, the areas are embed into the region pages. This allows for easy embedding in location pages and elsewhere while still maintaining region lists.
    • Listed 100% of renown hearts
    • Split the tables of hearts into separate pages under the hearts category
      • Then embed into all area and list of region pages
