Ambient dialogue[edit]
- Child: When I grow up, I'm going to be a brave hero!
- Child: I saw this hunter who had a doggie. It was bigger than me, and it said, "Woof!"
- Child: Do you think the gods still watch over us? Mom doesn't think so, but I do.
- Child: Daddy, why can't I have a golem?
- Citizen: I wish I had hair like the sylvari.
- Citizen: I was born inside these walls. I'm probably going to die trapped inside them.
- Citizen: That Caudecus the Wise, I like him. Good head on his shoulders, he has.
- Citizen: If the charr think they can come here, me and my meat cleaver will tell them otherwise.
- Citizen: Did you see that norn come through here the other day? Now that's a man!
- Citizen: Hmm. I could use one of those.
- Citizen: Ah, that's a fair price. I'll take two, my good man!
- Citizen: Hmm, where to next?
- Citizen: Praise the Six!
- Citizen: Too rich for my blood. Next payday, I'll be back.
- Citizen: Best be getting home before I worry the wife.
- Citizen: Shut up now! I can't hear anything!
- Citizen: Where did he... Oh, he's probably down at the pub again.
- Citizen: Seraph! Officer! My son is missing!
- Seraph Soldier: Slow down, ma'am. What's the problem?
- Citizen: I gave him carnival money this morning. He hasn't returned!
- Seraph Soldier: I'll need a full description. What was he wearing? How old is he?
- Citizen: (sobbing)
- Citizen: I'm sorry. Please come in. I'll tell you what you need to know.
- Citizen (1): The caravan from Lion's Arch is late, and we're having trouble getting meat and milk from the outlying ranches.
- Citizen (2): Stockpiling staples was the right call. I know this isn't quite a siege, but I certainly can't depend on the caravans like I used to.
- Citizen (1): War can't last forever.
- Noble (1): I planted those seeds this morning.
- Noble (2): Oh, good. And you asked Melandru to watch over them?
- Noble (1): Of course! We can't cook with rotten fruit, can we?
- Citizen: (groan) All this ale. I think I'm going to be sick.
- Citizen: My mug has gone empty. Bartender!
- Citizen: To Queen Jennah!
- Citizen: Shut up now! I can't hear anything!
- Citizen (1): Hi there, how are you doing?
- Citizen (2): Good, you?
- Citizen (1): Fine, thanks!
- Citizen: What's the trouble, Officer?
- Seraph Soldier: We need to talk about your pigs.
- Citizen: Pigs? No swine in my house. Unless you count my brother.
- Seraph Soldier: Let's cut the act. I can hear them. More importantly, I can smell them.
- Seraph Soldier: Visit the butcher if you have to.
- Citizen: (sigh) Sorry, Mr. Oinks. That's life in the big city.
Objects[edit]
- Door
- Dead Bird (from a cat from the Hungry cat scavenger hunt)
- Posted Message
- Unlockable home instance objects (see List of home instance upgrades)
Notes[edit]
- There is another exit door on the southeast side of the region, which leads to Lyssa Low Road, and another exit door on the northwest, which leads to Plaza of Grenth. However, it is not possible to enter using these two doors from the outside.
Trivia[edit]
- This district is named after Queen Salma.
- The sign on the shield-shaped plaque in Andrew's tavern reads (punctuation added for clarity):
- Rule number 1:
- The bartender is
- always right.
- Rule number 2:
- If bartender
- is wrong, see
- rule number 1.
- There are three houses with usable doors in the area, and in the house west of where you entered the district there is an Old Man. Speaking to him is a reference to the Trespassing Hero trope of early Role-Playing Games that allow you to enter Non-Player Characters' homes and smash pots, open chests/cabinets/etc., and essentially take/loot whatever you wanted with little to no comment/consequence from the owner(s).
