An engineering kit is a skill type unique to Engineers that replaces the currently equipped weapon (and its skills) with a special weapon. Engineering kits can be equipped and stowed instantly, allowing characters to switch back to their original weapon. Kits scale damage based on the rarity of the player's equipped weapon.

  • There is an internal cooldown of 1 second when swapping to or from a specific kit. If you swap to or from a kit, you must wait 1 second before you can swap to or from that kit. The cooldown on stowing a kit can be circumvented by using 'Drop bundle' (default key: ~).
With Grenadier, swapping to grenades doesn't have this cooldown (unless you use the 'Stow Grenade Kit' skill).

  • Prior to 08 August 2017, engineering kits were split into two functionally identical types: Device kits and Weapon kits.
