Update - December 21, 2015[edit]

Bug Fixes[edit]

  • Fixed an issue that caused too much supply to drop for minor supply drops.
  • Fixed an issue in which NPCs with set patrol paths would no longer move or respond to players. Lionguards, Seraph, dolyaks, and guild bounty targets will now resume their patrols and respond to players.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented magnetite shards from being correctly awarded for failed boss attempts in the Forsaken Thicket.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed multiple instances of Foxglove to be collected.
  • Fixed an issue in which schematics in a guild's aetheric assembly device did not have a tooltip informing users of how long a schematic would take to process. Schematic tooltips will now report how long they take to process in the aetheric assembly device.
  • Fixed an issue in which guilds could not swap decorations with the decoration UI opened by using skill 6 on the skill bar.
  • Fixed an issue in which guilds could not always queue schematics into their aetheric assembly device in the guild hall workshop. Guild members with the appropriate permissions can now queue schematics in the aetheric assembly device.
  • Fixed an issue in which guilds with more than 40 schematics in their aetheric assembly device could not scroll through the recipes. A scroll bar now appears if the aetheric assembly device has more than 40 schematics in its inventory.
  • Updated the description for creating the Mini Munificent Gift Skritt in the Mystic Forge to correctly call out Wintersday Gifts in the recipe.

  • Gorseval's ghostly minions will now correctly pursue players during the encounter.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Preserved Queen Bee item to be replaced with the Winter's Presence upgrade. Preserved Queen Bee items have been restored.
  • Fixed an issue with guild experience showing the wrong value on the Guild Panel UI.
  • Fixed a bug in which players could sometimes get dishonor without leaving a PvP match.

     Echo of Memory: Block duration has been reduced from 2.25 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
  • Deja Vu.png
     Deja Vu: Block duration has been reduced from 2.25 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
  • Well of Precognition.png
     Well of Precognition: This ability now applies distortion instead of blur and prevents capture-point contribution. Casting time has been increased from 0.25 seconds to 0.75 seconds, and aftercast delay has been reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0 seconds.

Revenant[edit]

  • Demonic Defiance.png
     Demonic Defiance: This trait's functionality now has a 5-second internal cooldown.
  • Radiant Revival.png
     Radiant Revival: This trait's functionality has been altered to provide Infused Light for the revenant instead of the downed target. This trait now grants the revenant 10% bonus revival speed.
  • Coalescence of Ruin.png
     Coalescence of Ruin: This ability will no longer hit more than the maximum number of targets (5). The cascade will additionally cease its progression if it hits the maximum number of targets.

General[edit]

  • Runes of Durability: Fixed a bug that granted this rune set higher boon duration than indicated.
  • Spending resonance to finish assembling a guild consumable early now functions correctly.

  • Parts of Divinity's Reach and the Heart of the Mists have been decorated.
  • There are all new Wintersday Gifts this year! Double-click prior dusty old Wintersday gifts into new gifts!
  • Earn Personalized Wintersday Gifts by doing achievements, or buy them from a guild trader.
  • Tradeable Wintersday Gifts now have a chance to drop all over Tyria.
  • Keep winter around all year long by completing the new rare Winter's Presence item collection achievement, which unlocks a shoulder skin with a snow effect!
  • The Wintersday Vendor found in Divinity's Reach has been updated with new items.
  • There are returning and new permanent Wintersday achievements as well as new daily achievements.
  • The Mini Snowman has returned. It can be found in Wintersday gifts and will now be tradeable.
  • New Mystic Forge recipes have been added to make Foostivoo the Merry using Flawless Snowflakes.
  • Flawless Snowflakes can be traded in to Fion in any guild hall to receive a Pile of Snow decoration for that guild.
  • Scribes can use Piles of Snow to craft 5 new guild decorations.

Fractals[edit]

  • From fractal scale 1 to 50, the toughness attribute of creatures will scale up with the fractal scale. Beyond fractal scale 50, the toughness stat of creatures will no longer increase with the scale of the fractal.
  • Chests that spawn from completing Fractal Dungeons have had their chances to drop containers of ascended gear increased, with major improvements at higher tiers of difficulty.
  • Chests that spawn from completing Fractal Dungeons also reward experience based on their difficulty. This experience can train Central Tyrian masteries.
  • The average gold value of opening Cracked Fractal Encryptions has increased.
    • This increase came from changes to the Lost Homework sellable items dropped from these containers.
  • With the changes to scaling past level 50, higher tiers of fractals should be faster to complete, increasing their average reward per time played in each fractal.
  • Stabilizing Matrices can now be traded for Fractal Encryption Keys on a 1:1 basis.
  • Some Daily Fractal Achievements now drop an increased number of Fractal Encryption Keys.
  • Purchasing Fractal Encryption Keys works a bit differently now.
    • The first 30 keys a player purchases per day will be available at a cost of 20 silver and a Fractal Relic per key.
    • The next 30 keys can be purchased at a cost of 25 silver and a Fractal Relic per key.
    • After these 60 discounted keys have been purchased, players can buy an unlimited amount of keys at a cost of 30 silver and a Fractal Relic per key.
  • The achievements for completing sets of 3 fractals have also had their names updated to match the chests awarded.
  • Fixed a bug in the Underground Facility fractal that resulted the Rampaging Ice Elemental having the unshakable effect applied.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the chak gerents to scale too aggressively when players joined their lanes.
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally prevented the Rata Novus golems from engaging the chak gerent in combat.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the Scrap Rifle Field Test adventure to end if you were imprisoned in goop.
  • Fixed kill participation credit in a number of events in Tangled Depths.
  • Turning in ley energy now gives participation credit for the "Power [East/West] Sentry L.O.X. with energy from the ley-line energy collectors" and "Repel the invading chak. Power up the golem for added firepower!" events in Rata Novus.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from getting the Lane Defender achievements available during the King of the Jungle meta-event.

General[edit]

  • Fixed a bug with the "Escort Rustbucket to the repair station" event in Dry Top which was causing some of the German VO to be cut off.
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to receive the Leader of the Pact effect from party members before they had accepted their party invitation.
  • Players affected by multiple sources of Leader of the Pact will now only show the most powerful version affecting them in their effect display.
  • Fixed a bug in which effects applied by player-controlled minions were not correctly prioritizing players over other minions.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause vendors who were selling goods with an item cost to not update their count of the player's available items correctly.
  • Scribing costs for WvW claiming and guild siege equipment have been adjusted to be less expensive.
  • Fixed a bug in which knockback distance could be reduced by a change in the target's movement speed.
  • Party members will now display WvW rank instead of Mastery points when in WvW.
  • Fixed a bug in which inviting a squad from within the Guild Teams panel would only invite one person from the squad.
  • Guild Storage has been updated to now show helpful tooltips.
  • Changed guild hall decoration placement to be more permissive.

  • Fixed a bug in which party members of a disconnected player would receive a defeat even after winning the match.

  • Fixed a bug in the Underground Facility Fractal that could block progression in the fractal when using teleport skills just before reaching the reinforced door.
  • Heavy supply bags now have a chance to drop in WvW maps.
  • Fixed a bug in which players were able to spend items that had been soulbound to another character at vendors.

  • Gift of Fortune.png The Gift of Fortune can now be salvaged into its base materials.
  • Superior Rune of Thorns.png Superior Rune of Thorns: Updated the text for the effect this rune set applies for when the wearer is struck by a poisoned enemy.
  • Players are more likely to get the invisible mushroom spore for the profession they are playing as.
  • Loot bags received in the Heart of Maguuma now indicate if they are affected by magic find.
  • Fighting the chak gerent in Tangled Depths now has a chance to give chak eggs even if the event fails.
  • Night bosses in Verdant Brink have had their rewards updated.
  • Several boss events in Tangled Depths have had their rewards improved, and they now have a chance to give chak eggs.
  • Updated the map completion rewards for Southsun Cove to better reflect the effort required.

     Rebound: Fixed a bug that allowed elementalists to revive when Vapor Form ends.

     Lucid Singularity: Fixed an issue that caused this trait to not reduce crippled and chilled durations by 100%. Fixed a bug that caused this trait to heal in a radius when completing an overload.
  • Speedy Conduit.png
     Speedy Conduit: Fixed an issue that caused this trait to apply 5 seconds of swiftness instead of the intended 8.
  • Overload Fire.png
     Overload Fire: Fixed an issue that caused the effects of this ability to scale with the character's size.
  • Overload Water.png
     Overload Water: Fixed an issue that caused the effects of this ability to scale with the character's size.
  • "Wash the Pain Away!".png
     "Wash the Pain Away!": Reduced the visual noise on the effects associated with this skill.
  • "Flash-Freeze!".png

     Go for the Eyes: Fixed an issue that allowed this ability to trigger blindness at an incredibly fast rate. This trait now has a 12-second internal cooldown.

     Grace of the Land: Updated the skill facts from the effect granted by this trait to correctly reflect that each stack grants 3% damage instead of 2%.
  • Electric Wyvern
    Lightning Assault.png
     Lightning Assault: Updated skill facts to reflect the launch being performed.
  • Bristleback: Fixed a bug causing this pet's effective health to be greater than intended.

     Assassin's Annihilation: Fixed an issue that prevented this trait from showing up in the combat log.

     Coalescence of Ruin: Fixed an issue that prevented this ability from dealing damage at the very edge of its range. Updated the effects to portray its combat regions more accurately.

Structured Player vs. Player[edit]

  • Added game history to the PvP panel's home tab.
  • Added game history to the guild panel's guild-team tab.
  • Added an admin list to custom-arena customization.
  • Removed rank restriction from Conquest game mode.
  • Added a dismiss button to the match-ready prompt.

  • Removed the rocks at the top of the columns at the Henge capture point.
PvP League Season Begins!

  • Play in Ranked Arena to compete in the PvP League season.
  • Climb tiers and divisions to prove your worth in the PvP leagues.
  • Upon entering a division, players are rewarded with unique nameplate badges and PvP League tickets.
Guild Challenger League
  • Play in Ranked Arena as a guild team to participate in the Guild Challenger League.
  • Guild Challenger League is based off the ELO rating type.
  • The top 250 teams will receive a trophy based on their placement for their guild hall.
  • The top 1,000 teams receive some materials to help restore their guild arena.
PvP Legendary Journey—The Ascension

World vs. World[edit]

  • Mini Chest of the Mists.png Chests of the Mists will no longer be available from bonus rank-up chests, but they can still be obtained from standard rank-up chests.
  • Significantly increased the number of Proofs of Heroics awarded from Chests of the Mists.
  • Slightly increased the number of Memories of Battle awarded from Chests of the Mists.
  • Any new Chests of the Mists dropped are now soulbound on acquire, as well as stackable.
  • Fixed a few ambient creatures to prevent players from rallying off their deaths.
  • The Auto Turret upgrade now correctly activates turrets at Stonemist Castle.
  • Fixed keep and castle walls such that there are no longer a few odd ranged attacks that pass through them.
  • Catapult boulders are now effective against barricades.
  • Fixed experience rewards for repairing metal walls using characters with a level 2 or higher Repair Master ability.
  • Jerrifer and Ogrewatch guards will no longer engage ambient critters in combat.
  • Fixed a bug in which wood, stone, and metal walls would be visible, stacked on top of each other, right after a new build or reset.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed contestable keep waypoints to be available for a few seconds in between repel events.

Guild[edit]

  • An NPC has been added to the end of guild rushes that allows guild members, with permission, to end the mission early, and grants them favor before the timer runs out.
  • Fixed a bug on the Quaggan Paddle guild mission. Guilds that did not place the banner to start the race now can receive credit.
  • The guild hall market's Guild Trader now always sells resonating slivers for 1 commendation each.
  • Crystalline ore has been removed from the cost of basic decorations.

  • The UI has had its color palette changed. Particularly visible in the Hero Panel.
  • Off-hand weapons now go in your bags beside your main-hand weapon when swapping to a two-handed weapon.
  • The exalted vendor now has additional text in its first tab saying: "Special items from the Forgotten City".
  • Ley-Energy Matter Converter had its inventory icon changed.
  • New effects have been added to several Legendary weapons.
  • There's a new craftable ascended amulet with selectable stats.
  • Meta events in the Heart of Maguuma seem to be more rewarding overall, more Noxious Pods spawn before the meta event is finished compared to pre-patch.
  • All Guild Challenges have been fixed.
  • The Gilded Hollow is now considered to be in a higher layer, from The Depths to Underground, so you don't have to switch layers on the map to see waypoints.
  • Superior Rune of the Revenant recipe is now discover-able for armor crafting professions.
  • Glittering weapon skins now cost 2 Black Lion Claim Tickets each.
  • A trail effect has been added to Ad Infinitum.

Raids[edit]

  • The break bar of the Vale Guardian will now pop after a maximum of around 10 seconds, regardless of CC. (used to be around 30 seconds pre-patch).
  • The UI when entering the raid has been changed.
  • An invisible wall now blocks off the Sabetha jumping puzzle. No more early 4th chest or cheesing the boss.
