Skills recharge faster.

— In-game description

Alacrity is a boon that increases the rate at which skills recharge by 25%, therefore making skills recharge in 80% of the original time. Like most boons, Alacrity has a maximum duration of 30 seconds.

The recharge time reduction from Alacrity affects skills produced by traits, like Method of Madness Method of Madness, but not internal cooldowns of traits themselves, like Auspicious Anguish Auspicious Anguish. Additionally, Alacrity affects most bundle skills, including siege weapons in the World versus World game mode.

Chilled.png Chilled condition, which makes skills recharge slower, is the negative counterpart to Alacrity.

Mechanics[edit]

For every second under the effect of alacrity, skills recharge 1.25 seconds. If the alacrity expires before the skill is recharged, the actual recharge time is:

actual recharge time = original recharge time - 0.25 * alacrity duration

If the cooldown of the skill expires before the alacrity does, the actual recharge time is:

actual recharge time = original recharge time / 1.25

For example, a skill with a 10 second cooldown will recharge in 8 seconds, as long as you're under the effect of alacrity for the whole time.

While having the trait Improved Alacrity Improved Alacrity equipped, alacrity gives 50% skill recharge rate (recharge is around 66.67% of the original time). So for every second under the effect of alacrity, skills recharge 1.5 seconds. Therefore if the alacrity expires before the skill is recharged, the actual recharge time is:

actual recharge time = original recharge time - 0.5 * alacrity duration

If the cooldown of the skill expires before the alacrity does, the actual recharge time is:

actual recharge time = original recharge time / 1.5

For example, a skill with a 10 second cooldown will recharge in about 6.67 seconds, as long as you're under the effect of alacrity for the whole time.

Patch Changes
October 26, 2021
  • Positive percentage-based enhancements now display with a "+." For example, swiftness now displays "+33% Movement Speed" instead of "33% Movement Speed."
October 05, 2021
  • Fixed a bug causing duration-stacking boons to be affected by a hidden stack limit of 9, which in some cases could come into effect before stacking to that boon's expected duration cap. This resulted in some boons having a lower total duration than expected. This hidden stack limit has been removed for duration-stacking boons that also have a maximum duration—alacrity, fury, protection, quickness, resistance, resolution, swiftness, and vigor.
May 11, 2021
  • Duration-stacking boons and conditions now behave consistently. They directly stack durations added from all sources, do not have hidden stack limits, and generally have shorter maximum durations. (30 seconds)

  • Updated the visual effects of this effect to be less profession specific.
