Gendarran Fields is an area of contrasts. The Shiverpeaks rise in the east, farms dominate its southern hills, and to the west, Krytans fight centaurs in a centuries-old war. Meanwhile, at the heart of the region, pirates gallivant upon Lake Gendarr and raid surrounding communities.

— In-game description

Gendarran Fields is a broad expanse located north of Lion's Arch. The fields proper sprawl forth to the shores of Lake Gendarr, resting between a mountainous east and the barren crags to the west. In the midst of bucolic admiration, travelers should not forget that Krytan history has long seen these lands as a human crossroads; the hills have been both home and refuge, and seen wealth and war alike.

These days, life continues past the rise of Orr. Though the southern coast was rewritten by rushing waters, civilization has persisted as the humans have found allies for a new city. In the fertile Cornucopian Fields, townsfolk and farmers strive to earn a living, tending their crops and selling their wares while nearby Ascalon Settlement deepens its roots. Elsewhere, the newly moneyed raise homes on the shores of Lake Bounty in contrast to the stoic foothold established by members of the Vigil in the north. Time has brought many changes, with Lion's Arch revived and newly independent, but threats old and new still remain. Harathi and Tamini centaurs raid the northwest, while the undead are ever-present in the southern swamps. Of particular concern to the struggling peace is the pirate plague upon the lakes--a reminder that even in such times, friend is never far away from foe.

Fauna and foes[edit]

  • Pirates: A variety of pirates prowl the lands, swarming around the shores of Lake Gendarr and Lake Bounty.
  • Fish: Large fish swim through the many waters, whether they be the depths of the two lakes or the Witherflank River.
  • Bats: Bats inhabit the Fields' varied terrains, from the fruit bats in the orchards to the cave and cliff bats in less hospitable areas.
  • Centaurs: The age-old centaur threat holds strong with the many encampments in Blood Hill Camps and Hezran Outcrops.
  • Undead: Like the corruption of Orr washed ashore, undead foes lurk in the southern swamps.
  • Spiders: From forest to cave, these venomous pests still frustrate the townsfolk of Cornucopian Fields and the workers at First Haven.
  • Raptors: These birdlike dinosaurs occasionally cross a traveler's path; they can be seen in Broadhollow Bluffs as well as in Gendarran Fields' mountainous east.
  • Skelk, drakes, and skales: These amphibious creatures abound near any body of water.
