Broad estuaries give the Orrian undead easy passage into Sparkfly Fen. A wave of Zhaitan's minions drove hylek refugees before it and captured vast territory. Wyld Hunt valiants and Vigil crusaders fight to regain control from an untiring enemy.

Sparkfly Fen is long and water-ridden stretch of land bordered by the Steamspur Mountains to the east and the resurrected ruins of Orr to the southwest. The small expanse of intervening water has done little to staunch Zhaitan's flow of minions, and so motley defenders of this land--Vigil, sylvari, and asura--are confronted with a common undead foe. They are not alone, as the Fen is the hylek capital, home to one of their greatest temples to the sun, and it is here that this same enemy has united even the normally aggressive and territorial tribes. They have not aligned themselves with the other races against Zhaitan, and yet the shore holds one of his champions. With no shortage of enemies orrian and unliving, assistance is no small task. However, help the hylek, and adventurers may yet have another ally in the fight against the undead dragon.

Fauna and foes

• Orrian: A dark flood of Orrian undead swells in these lands.
• Undead: From shark to hylek to other abominations, other creatures have been returned to unliving along the waters.
• Moas, behemoths, crabs, and drakes: Other native fauna of the Fen.
• Nightmare Court: While many sylvari are fighting Zhaitan's reach in the area, the Court has taken hold in Diresight Caverns.
• Spiders and insects: No swamp is complete without a few of these.
• Dragon: Tequatl the Sunless corrupts the land from the shallows. The hylek will not join the other races until he is destroyed.
