Condition Reaper is one of the burstiest Condition damage build for instanced content by applying massive amounts of Bleeding very quickly. The iteration I use here retains the same gear as Scourge and/or Harbinger, making it much easier to swap between all three builds. It's also an excellent pick for solo gameplay, as it can provide itself with good amounts of many essential offensive boons ( Quickness, Protection, Fury and Might). Through its second health bar in the form of Reaper's Shroud, it becomes inherently resilient and further provides excellent Defiance bar damage.

Rotation Concept[edit]
Careful:This build scales with the number of conditions on the enemy. For guidance on setting up the training area, see my guide for it You can find my most recent rotation showcase here.
- The main idea of condition Reaper is to abuse Deathly Chill by applying Chilled as often as possible, together with additional amounts of Torment, Poisoned and Burning.
- Via Chilling Darkness and Shivers of Dread, both Fear and Blinded will also apply Chilled, which in turn applies even more Bleeding.
- The synergies between these traits and your skill kit allow you to stack up massive amounts of Bleeding very fast, making it one of the burstiest condition builds in the game.
- In the entirety of the rotation, you want to use Well of Darkness on cooldown. Well of Darkness is the strongest single skill in your kit, as it applies boch Blinded and Chilled one per pulse.
- Always cast "Suffer!" right after Blood Is Power: "Suffer!" transfers the self-applied Bleeding and Torment instantly when you cast it.
- In the same vein, you can pair Deathly Swarm and Plaguelands.
Opener[edit]
- Start with the following skills on Scepter & Dagger:
- Plaguelands,
- Blood Is Power,
- Well of Darkness,
- Blood Is Power (you will have Bleeding, Poisoned and Torment on you now),
- "Suffer!",
- Deathly Swarm (the self-applied conditions should be gone now),
- Enfeebling Blood
- Devouring Darkness &
- Grasping Dead
- This way, you get all the damage skills off quickly while transferring the self-applied conditions to the enemy.
- Then, swap to Pistol + Torch.
Step 1: Pistol + Torch + Reaper's Shroud[edit]
- After swapping to Pistol + Torch, use all available weapon skills end enter Reaper's Shroud.
- In shroud, the most important combo is to use Soul Spiral inside the Ice Field from Executioner's Scythe in melee range, as that will lead to 12 Whirl finishers, each applying Chilled and thus 48(!) stacks of Bleeding through Deathly Chill.
- After that, use 3x Life Rend, Life Slash & Life Reap and exit Reaper's Shroud.
- Use all available skills on Pistol and Torch and then repeat from Scepter + Dagger.
Step 2: Scepter + Dagger[edit]
- Always start + end the Scepter + Dagger loop with the combination of Grasping Dead and Devouring Darkness.
- In between, follow the general rotation concept described above.
- Use Enfeebling Blood and Well of Darkness on cooldown.
CC Skills for breakbar damage:[edit]
- Vile Blast
- Terrify
- Executioner's Scythe
- Oppressive Collapse
- "Chilled to the Bone!" is an excellent CC option instead of Plaguelands for Stability on demand. It also applies Bleeding through its Chilled.

- For a budget variant, simply replace all ascended armor pieces and trinkets of Viper's with rare/exotic Ritualist's.
- If you want easy Exotic stat-selectable armor for additional pieces of Viper's, Ritualist or Celestial, take a look at TEID-07 Unified Vendor System in WvW and Bladed armor in PvE.

For OW, it can make sense to make a build more forgiving, so that you can sustain on your own.
Increasing General Survivability[edit]
- The first step for increased survivability is to use Death Magic and Parasitic Contagion. That way, you obtain massive amounts of Toughness, permanent coverage of Protection and passive healing at a fairly small damage loss:
Death Magic | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
- Putrid Defense & Corrupter's Fervor stack up Death's Carapace very fast and thus provide pulsing Protection when you have more than 25 stacks. Each stack of Poisoned you apply grants 2 stacks! Starting combat with "Chilled to the Bone!", Reaper's Shroud, Executioner's Scythe and Soul Spiral will stack up 30 stacks within ~3 seconds of starting combat.
- Deadly Strength also gives large amounts of Power and Condition Damage per stack of Death's Carapace.
- Parasitic Contagion heals you for 5% of your outgoing Condition Damage, which is a nice passive heal you get as long as you keep applying conditions.
- If you want, you can change your gear to the following for little cost. That retains the 100% duration on Bleeding and gives you a good chunk of additional Toughness.
- The trinkets are optional, but will help with maintaining Boons due to the additional Concentration. You can use both Ritualist's or Celestial interchangeably, depending on what you have or can afford.
- More Celestial or Ritualist's pieces will facilitate Boon coverage and further increase survivability. It is not necessary at all though, as you reach incredible survivability without it.
- If all of that isn't enough, use the survivability food and utility item listed above for another -10% damage taken and 220 Toughness!
- If you can, make use of jade protocols! Jade Tech Offensive Overcharge and Jade Tech Defensive Overcharge give 150 additional Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage and Power as well as all boons aside from Stability, Resistance and Resolution on entering combat. These effects can be pre-stacked by using an Enchanted Snow Diamond Tonic repeatedly when out of combat.
Boon Coverage[edit]
- In order to cover more Might and Life force, we'll also make use of Chilling Victory. This also makes sustaining Life force much easier, as it also works in Reaper's Shroud.
- Well of Power, "Chilled to the Bone!" and Oppressive Collapse provide additional Might, the latter also in an area.
- Furious Demise and "Chilled to the Bone!" apply Fury.
- Relic of the Chronomancer paired with the following four wells and will allow you to maintain Quickness on yourself.
- Well of Blood applies Regeneration and is a Light field that you can use to cleanse conditions.
- Well of Darkness is incredibly strong for area damage and also for maintaining Death's Carapace.
- Well of Power is a Stun break, provides Might and converts Conditions into Boons on each pulse.
- Well of Suffering applies 2 stacks of Vulnerability on each pulse, again maintaining more Death's Carapace.
- "Chilled to the Bone!" is a very overloaded skill these days, it does it all: Stun, Might, Fury, Quickness and Stability, Vulnerability and massive AoE damage via Chilled and Bleeding. You gain Might, Fury and Stability per enemy hit by this!
Dealing with Conditions and Control effects (CC)[edit]
- Well of Power cleanses 1 condition in an area with on every pulse and is a Stun break.
- Deathly Swarm transfers 2 conditions to enemies.
- Spectral Walk cleanses conditions, allows you to cover Swiftness on yourself and is a Stun break.
- "Chilled to the Bone!" grants Stability, allowing you to bypass incoming Disables.
