Mechanics[edit]

Damage calculations[edit]

This trait replaces the normal damage coefficient for burning damage. Normally, burning damage is calculated using the character's condition damage stat, using the following formula:

(0.155 * Condition Damage) + (1.55 * Level) + 7 per second

However, Inferno changes this formula to scale with power instead:

(0.1 * Power) + (1.55 * Level) + 7 per second (in PvE)
(0.06 * Power) + (1.55 * Level) + 7 per second (in PvP)

Burning modified by Inferno is calculated with 10% scaling in PvE and 6% in PvP. For example, in PvE, a Power value of 1893 at level 80 would cause burning to do an extra 189 damage, totaling 320 damage (131 base + 189 from Power).

Additional notes[edit]

  • Burning damage modified by Inferno is not affected by the condition damage stat at all.
  • All other behaviors of burning remain the same, including expertise, and effects that change burning / condition duration or damage interval.
  • Since the damage coefficient of burning is set to 0.1, compared to the 0.155 of regular unmodified burning, the attribute scaling of burning modified by Inferno is thus approximately 65% of regular burning.
  • Inferno will also affect external sources of burning, including Relics (like Relic of the Fractal.pngRelic of the Fractal and Relic of the Steamshrieker.pngRelic of the Steamshrieker) and  Fire Aura.png Fire Aura.
