Dialogue[edit]
Cinematic upon entering:
- Braham: You have to send troops. My friends, my home. We're losing everything. People are dying.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Who do you think you are, barging into my office like this?
- Braham: My people are hunters. They don't know a thing about fighting an army!
- Rytlock Brimstone: True, but that doesn't make me your keeper. You're in the wrong place. Go talk to Knut Whitebear. I'm up to my eyeballs in refugees.
- Braham: I'm Eir's son. I heard...I thought you would help.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Eir has no son. Get out of my office. Now!
After cinematic:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Those norn need to take care of their own messes.
Talking to Braham:
- Braham: I'm so mad I could spit. My people are in danger, and this mighty tribune won't help. I have to go to Hoelbrak now. Don't suppose you'd want to come and help me convince Whitebear to send muscle?
- Brimstone looks busy. Is that why he wouldn't help you?
- You'll have to talk to him to find out. I'm not asking him to go himself, just to send some troops. So be it. I'll speak with Knut Whitebear in Hoelbrak. He's a wise man. He'll listen to reason.
- Why didn't you go to Hoelbrak first?
- Let's just say I have ghosts from my past there that I try to avoid. My mother, to be specific. It never ends well whenever she and I are in the same room. I barely know her anyway.
- I'm <character name>. And you are?
- Braham. Braham Eirsson. You've probably heard of my mother. She's a famous hero, a member of Destiny's Edge. Eir Stegalkin. I'm not bragging, mind you. I take after my father.
- Interesting. Maybe I'll see you in Hoelbrak. (earns Braham: Help from the Legions Achievement)
- I see. Well, good luck.
- Best of luck.
- Good luck, then.
Talking to Rytlock:
- If not charr and Forging the Pact completed:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Commander. This is an unexpected visit. What can I do for you?
- <Destiny's Edge mentor> sent me to help.
- All right. I could use all the help I can get. We're spread so thin, we've got cooks out scouting the mountains for Flame Legion. What kind of help are you offering?
- Whatever you need. Tell me.
- Good. Then maybe you'd be willing to go to Hoelbrak and carry a message to Knut Whitebear for me. Tell him his people are coming to me for help. Their situation is as rough as ours; maybe he could use some help, too.
- Gotcha. So, why didn't you help that norn?
- Two reasons. First, we've got our hands full. I can't spare a single soldier for the norn when my own people are dying. The Flame Legion are burning our assets. And second, he lied to me.
- What did he lie about?
- He said he's Eir Stegalkin's son. I've known her for years, and she'd have mentioned if she had any kids. He underestimated my relationship with her.
- I understand.
- I see. Thanks.
- Right. I'll do it.
- Not much at the moment. Maybe later.
- I doubt it. May your day improve.
- If charr:
- That young norn's ability to make it all the way to my office without being stopped is a sign of just how distracted we are with this refugee and Flame Legion situation. We need to get this under control.
- So, why didn't you help that norn? (Same as above)
- You're busy. I'll come back later.
- Otherwise:
- Another bleating visitor? Who let this tourist in here?
- So, why did you reject that norn's request? (Same as above)
- <Destiny's Edge mentor> sent me to help. (Same as above)
- May your day improve
Talking to Laria:
- If completed Forging the Pact:
- Laria Sharpeye: Commander <character name>. Good to see you here. Between you and me, I'd approach Tribune Brimstone with caution. He's not happy with me. I let that young norn in. An error in judgement on my part, but he said he was Eir's son.
- What did the young norn want?
- He came to request assistance with the defense of his home, but he came at the worst possible time. We are swamped with wounded and dying soldiers, and if the war council is any indication, they're taking this invasion seriously.
- What are your duties?
- I'm Tribune Brimstone's aide-de-camp. I've been running my tail off since the refugees started showing up. In between arranging lodging and food for them, I've also been gathering materials for the war council.
- Keep up the good work.
- Understood. I'll talk to you later.
- Thanks for the warning.
- If charr:
- Good to see you, <character name>. Between you and me, I'd approach Tribune Brimstone with caution. He's not happy with me. I let that young norn in. An error in judgement on my part, but he said he was Eir's son.
- What did the young norn want? (Same as above)
- I'll approach with caution.
- Otherwise:
- Ahem. Between you and me, I'd approach Tribune Brimstone with caution. He's not happy with me. I let that young norn in. An error in judgement on my part, but he said he was Eir's son.
- What did the young norn want? (Same as above)
- Good to know.
Follow-up mail after leaving:
Rytlock Brimstone Need Message Carried As long as you're going to Hoelbrak—you ARE going to Hoelbrak, right? Give that mangy old bear Knut Whitebear a message for me. Tell him I've got norn refugees showing up in my office, and I don't appreciate it. Heft a norn ale for me too, will you? —Rytlock Brimstone, Blood Legion Tribune
Knut Whitebear resides in the Great Lodge of Hoelbrak. Many norn take shelter there. Interactive map |
