Marjory Delaqua, Delaqua Investigations

Another Day, Another Debt

<Character name>,

The tragedy in Lion's Arch has been put to rest, and a new mystery calls—or will soon, I'm sure. In the lull between cases, I must take a moment to thank you for your valuable service. We wouldn't have discovered Mai Trin's involvement without your help. So, thank you. Feel free to stop by the Dead End any time; Kiel and Magnus are going to swing by, too. I owe you all a drink.

—Marjory

Entering the Dead End
Marjory Delaqua: Well, look who fell off his velvet couch and landed all the way down here. Let me guess. You came to give me a bonus for that last job.
Logan Thackeray: No. I came to thank you. I heard you caught the murderer.
Marjory Delaqua: Well, you heard wrong. No stool stands for long on a single leg.
Logan Thackeray: What are you saying?
Marjory Delaqua: I'm saying, dear boy, that I had help. Let me introduce you to my associates.
Talking to Logan
Thanks for your help on this, Commander. I owe you. With that criminal in Lionguard custody, Theo's family get the justice they deserve.
Talk end option tango.png Happy to help, Captain. Take care.
Approaching Marjory and Kasmeer
Kasmeer Meade: Do I look as out of place here as Thackeray does?
Marjory Delaqua: No, honey. He's a broken toy that's tumbled into the ruts. You, you're a flower—blooming despite the ruts.
Kasmeer Meade: Oh, good. Phew. Huh.
Talking to Kasmeer
I heard you caught our perpetrator! I can't believe Mai Trin would do such a thing. She was so kind at the crime scene... Humanity can be disappointing.
Talk more option tango.png She won't be harming anyone anymore.
I'm always impressed by those who embrace conflict and overcome challenging odds. I'm afraid I don't have that kind of strength—not like you or Jory...
Talk more option tango.png We all worked together to solve this case. (Same as below)
Talk end option tango.png You're plenty strong yourself, Kasmeer.
Talk more option tango.png We all worked together to solve this case.
She won't say it, but I will. You really impressed Marjory. She talked for almost a whole...minute about it.
Talk more option tango.png A whole minute?
It doesn't sound like much, but it is. Marjory's not the most open spigot when it comes to praise. You have to take what you can get.
Talk more option tango.png At least Mai Trin won't be harming anyone anymore. (Same as "She won't be harming anyone anymore" above)
Talk end option tango.png I see. Thanks.
Talk end option tango.png That's and understatement. See you later.
Talking to Marjory
I'm glad Mai Trin didn't do you in. She's spiky as well as slippery.
Talk more option tango.png But we got her.
I expected nothing less. Which reminds me. We make a good team. You mind if I call on you for other cases, as they come up?
Talk more option tango.png Sure thing. So, what are you up to next?
Looking for clients. I'm hearing rumors that the bizarre bazaar may be happening soon. Nothing attracts trouble faster than a spontaneous, migratory market.
Talk end option tango.png I hope it happens. See you around.
Talk end option tango.png You can call.
Talk end option tango.png That's an understatement. See you later.
Approaching Magnus and Ellen
Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed: We're gearing up to replace Ashford. His second died a few weeks ago in that whole Molten Alliance uproar.
Inspector Ellen Kiel: So, there will have to be a council election?
Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed: That's right. And I want you to go for it.
Inspector Ellen Kiel: What? I don't have that kind of wealth, and I'm not a ship's captain.
Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed: Then, you'd better get creative. I put your name in, and I commandeered the abandoned Aetherblade airship for you.
Inspector Ellen Kiel: I...I...I...
Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed: That's the kind of fast-thinking that made me choose you. (laugh)
Talking to Ellen
Once again, good work helping take down Mai Trin. Couldn't have done it without you. I don't think that's the last we'll see of the Aetherblades, though...
Talk more option tango.png What will happen to Mai Trin?
She's being held in Lion's Arch. Can't say where—anyone could be listening... But she's in Lionguard custody now, find solace in that. They'll interrogate her before the trial.
Talk more option tango.png Is she safe?
Should be. She's persona non grata among those in Lion's Arch and Kryta now, but we'll bring her to justice. Alive. I want to see her face when she's sentenced to life.
Talk end option tango.png Good to know. See you around, Inspector Kiel.
Talk end option tango.png We'll be ready for them. See you around, Inspector Kiel.
Talking to Magnus
You've done a yeoman's job capturing that snake Trin, thank you.
Talk more option tango.png Happy to help.
Say, hero to hero. What do you think of the inspector?
Talk more option tango.png Kiel? I like her. She's played a critical role in the case.
I agree. Kiel has leadership potential. Great drive. She did good in the Southsun fiasco, too, but that's another story...
Talk end option tango.png Oh yeah? I'd like to hear that sometime.
Talking to the bartender
Welcome back, my friend! I'll add you to the growing list of the Dead End's returning patrons.
Talk end option tango.png It's quite a nice place you've got here.
Ambient dialogue from bartender, one line every 2-5 minutes
Bartender: This life's one wet bar rag after another.
Bartender: This next riff is my favorite.
Bartender: Gonna be a quiet one.

Lionguard Inspector Wholley

Second Aetherblade Site

<Character name>,

Inspector Kiel ordered me to inform you of a second Aetherblade lair at Broadhollow Bluffs in Gendarran Fields. It's a death trap, but it's filled with treasure. Let's give these pirates a taste of their own medicine. Plunder their lair. If we can clean them out then they'll think twice before setting up shop again.

Books[edit]

From E

Detective Delaqua,

I must thank you for delving into the depths of the latest underground crime ring to operate out of Divinity's Reach. I'm sure the people of this fine city would thank you for your tireless efforts at making it a safer place to dwell. More importantly, Miss Iaera's family will be relieved to have their daughter's body returned to them and not rotting away in some crypt beneath the city. That poor girl's death should be mourned. I can I only imagine what she endured in those final days.

As always, thank you for trusting a faceless benefactor. I will write again, should any more intel arrive at my door.

—E

My story[edit]

File:Case Closed.jpg

I met with Marjory and Kasmeer back at the Dead End Bar for a much-needed post-investigation drink. Logan expressed his thanks for our work in capturing Mai Trin.

On my way out, I heard Kiel and Magnus discussing her future in Lion's Arch. He wants her to run for Ashford's spot on the Captain's Council, even commandeered one of the abandoned Aetherblade ships for her. If Kiel's work on the investigation was any indicator of her possible success, I think she's set up for a good run.

First it was the Molten Alliance, now the Aetherblades... We don't know what's behind this mess, or who, but every time we think things have calmed down...something else wakes up. Mai Trin mentioned someone named "Scarlet" back at the hideout. Maybe that's our best lead.
