The Tower of Nightmares is the third story step of Tower of Nightmares, the fourth episode of Living World Season 1.

  • Speak with the Vigil tactician in Kessex Hills and head into the Tower of Nightmares.
  • Complete events within the public version of the Tower of Nightmares, or reach the top of the tower.

Walkthrough[edit]

This story directs you to play through the The Tower of Nightmares explorable, refer to that article and particularly the event pages for further guidance. Keep note that you do NOT need to complete the entire tower nor reach the top. You only need to do 8 events in the zone. In the case of being unable to continue due to lack of players, it is viable to simply leave and restart to complete the first level's events again. Additionally, donating Pristine Toxic Spore Sample.pngPristine Toxic Spore Samples to Sergeant Walters gives 2% contribution per, meaning 50 will complete the progress as well. You can purchase the Pristine Toxic Spore Sample.pngPristine Toxic Spore Samples on the Trading Post.

A new degenerative effect is introduced in this location, Toxic Pollen, which may be removed with the special action skill Antitoxin Spray which has three charges, and also heals and removes conditions.

There are a number of collectables located throughout the explorable, refer to the achievement section below.

Achievements[edit]

  • Complete the mission.
  • Complete the mission.
  • Requires multiple visits to complete.
  1. First level - Up some ramps, on a wooden ledge. On the map, left of the "F" in First Level.
  2. Second level - On the ground, under the board walkway. On the map, by the perimeter on the southeast side, a short distance southwest of the hero challenge.
  3. Third Level - near a ramp. On the map, due south of the end of the "Level" text in the label Third Level.
  4. Third Level - near yet another ramp. On the map, at the "h" in Third Level.
  5. At end of Third level, just before heading up ramps to final chest. In the room after the Wurm Queen champion, along the south wall.
  • Mysterious Fable Page 1: First level, at the western side of the area on the root of a large tree.
  • Mysterious Fable Page 2: Second level, below the "Le" bit of "Level" on the map; by spider eggs and webs.
  • Mysterious Fable Page 3: Third level, by a wall at the southwest side of this sector.
  • Nightmare Court Letter: In the boss event room, near the western cage in the weeds.
  • On the platform near to the Tri-Key chest at the end of the story, there is a set of Diving Goggles. The water is all the way around the foot of the tower.
  • After reaching level 2, or the end of any level allowing access to the inner ring of walkways, drop down to the bottom of the tower in the water. The record (which is bright pink) is against the western wall at the bottom of the water.

Dear <Character name>,

I'm dashing off a quick note from our camp on Thunder Ridge in Kessex Hills. Marjory has finally discovered an antitoxin to allow us into the Toxic Alliance's tower in Viathan Lake, and Marjory and I are setting out to learn its secrets.

I'd feel a lot safer if I knew you were with us. Initial reports suggest that the enemy has an assortment of unique horrors waiting for us inside their tower.

The noxious clouds surrounding the Tower of Nightmares have been cleared. Marjory and Kasmeer have entered the structure and are requesting help from all available heroes.

Vigil Tactician Steelbreaker: Commander. The Vigil was able to borrow a chopper from the Pact in order to ferry troops into the Tower of Nightmares. We'll depart when you're ready.

With the antitoxin in hand, we were able to enter the tower. My comrades and I navigated the treacherous maze of endless corridors, which was filled to the brim with krait, Nightmare Court, and other toxic horrors. The Priory's initial attempt to quell the tower failed, so it was up to me and my comrades to fight our way to the top.
