Walkthrough[edit]

Head to Krongar Pass in Timberline Falls, and enter the instance near the dolyak pen. At the encampment you will find Fibharr Ygosson regaling his allies with tales of his victories. Speaking with him triggers a cutscene where you agree to challenge Fibharr to a fight.

Before you can fight Fibharr, you have to fight some other people in two preliminary fights: first the archer Famke the Fair and her partner Wjerd Bladeborn; then a family trio, Pier Darkmountain, his wife Esmet Ravenswhisper, and their daughter Ayla.

The first fight involves fireballs; the second fight has lots of lightning. Fibharr uses a hammer, jumping around and using knockdowns; defeat him to complete the mission.

If you are not the primary player, your regular skills will be replaced with a few less useful ones:

# Skill Activation time Recharge time Description

Dialogue[edit]

As you walk towards the moot:

Trahearne: This moot is for tournament champions. No doubt, Fibharr will be here, telling tales of his glory.
Trahearne: I Dreamed of Orr, as Caithe did. But where she saw a dragon to fight, I saw a land to heal.
Trahearne: At least Caithe had a tangible target. I barely knew where to begin.

Speaking with Trahearne:

Trahearne: This will be difficult, <character name>. I hope you are ready.
Talk more option tango.png What's so difficult?
These norn are at the top of their fighting class. You will have to beat them before they will join us.
Talk back option tango.png I have another question.
Talk end option tango.png Agreed. We'll show Fibharr our mettle, and then ask them to join.
Talk more option tango.png Do you know much about the norn fighters?
Norn are boisterous, but their hearts are good. They will be moved by our need—but for pride's sake, we will have to fight.
Talk back option tango.png Fight, we will. May I ask another question?
Talk end option tango.png Agreed. We'll show Fibharr our mettle, and then ask them to join.

Speaking to Potato, a dolyak:

Potato: Potato is a tired-looking, but well-brushed dolyak.
Talk more option tango.png Pet the dolyak.
Potato lets out a low rumble.
Talk end option tango.png Leave Potato alone.
Talk more option tango.png Try to make the dolyak move.
He does not move.
Talk end option tango.png Leave the dolyak alone.
Talk end option tango.png Leave the dolyak alone.

Once you're in the moot:

Wjerd Bladeborn: What happened next, Fibharr? Did you slay them all?
Fibharr Ygosson: Well, I may have been outnumbered twenty to one, but they were merely griffons!
Fibharr Ygosson: I locked eyes with the biggest one...then I charged! Battle cries, beaks—feathers everywhere!
Fibharr Ygosson: In the end, the mighty griffon king bowed before my strength, and I set him free.
Wjerd Bladeborn: Amazing. Simply amazing!
(for charr with the gladium father as background)
Fibharr Ygosson: I remember you. Vallus Smokemane's cub right?
(otherwise)
Fibharr Ygosson: Come to hear the tales of my great exploits?

Speaking with various norn:

Esmet Ravenswhisper: The Spirits told me you were coming.
Talk more option tango.png You talk to the Spirits of the Wild?
I'm a Raven shaman. I speak to the spirits often. They talk of you frequently, <Character name>.
Talk more option tango.png What do they say?
They say the dragon rises soon. You must be there. You will find a way.
Talk end option tango.png They tell you truths. Thank you.
Wjerd Bladeborn: Wjerd Bladeborn's the name! If you need it, I can get it...by hook or by crook.
Talk more option tango.png Norn thieves are rare. How do you justify the things you do?
You wound me! Some call me "thief," but I prefer the term "opportunist." I don't cause harm. I only...help things along.
Talk more option tango.png What kind of things?
Someone loses something, I find it. That sort of thing. I'm a helper.
Talk back option tango.png Interesting. May I ask something else?
Talk end option tango.png That's one way to look at it, I suppose.
Talk more option tango.png How did you get involved in tournaments?
Ever since I was a boy, I wanted to compete. they [sic] teased me for it, but I won't give up. With Famke's help—I can even win!
Talk more option tango.png Is that a crush I hear in your tone?
Crush? On Famke? Ha! Now, Fibharr, on the other hand...
Talk back option tango.png Interesting. May I ask something else?
Talk end option tango.png Ha!
Talk end option tango.png Nice to meet you.
Famke the Fair: I am Famke the Fair, swiftest bow in the Shiverpeaks!
Talk more option tango.png How did you and Wjerd become partners?
Don't get the wrong idea—he's not my type. He's my partner as in "pit companion," not "bed warmer."
Charisma What's your type? Someone like me?
I like winners. Better yet, I like being a winner. Watch yourself out there.
Talk end option tango.png I'll take that as an invitation.
Talk back option tango.png Interesting. I have another question.
Talk end option tango.png Good to know.
Talk more option tango.png How did you start fighting in tournaments?
I'm a target shooter, good at trick shots. Wjerd talked me into joining up in the ring.
Talk back option tango.png I have another question.
Talk end option tango.png Impressive.
Talk end option tango.png Good to meet you.
Pier Darkmountain: I am Pier. You are <Character name>. What else is there to say?
Talk more option tango.png Esmet and Ayla are your family?
My wife and daughter, the pride of my life.
Talk end option tango.png You're very fortunate.
Ayla Piersdottir: Why do we have to wait for the ring to open? I could lay you out right here!
Talk more option tango.png You're a feisty one.
Believe it. I take after my Pa.
Talk back option tango.png I have another question.
Talk end option tango.png I look forward to seeing you prove it.
Talk end option tango.png You'll be strong competition.

Talking to Fibhanrr Ygosson (cinematic):

Fibharr Ygosson: Oho! You're from the Vigil. Finally decided to come pay respect to the victoriffic Fibharr Ygosson?
<Character name>: I'm here on behalf of General Soulkeeper. Lion's Arch is in danger, and the Vigil is readying soldiers... You do realize "victoriffic" isn't a word, right?
Fibharr Ygosson: Defend Lion's Arch? A noble cause. Still, sounds like I'd be just one sword among many. Sorry. Not my style...and it is a word if I say it's a word.
Trahearne: Your tournament conquests are second only to your fame as a gambler, Fibharr. I propose a wager. My companion and I versus the rest of you.
Fibharr Ygosson: Ha! Do you realize you're facing an encampment of tournament champions? You're victorifically insane!
<Character name>: If we win, you and your companions join us to defend Lion's Arch. And if you win...uhm...
Fibharr Ygosson: If I win, you two have to carry my pet dolyak to the encampment! He can't make it up that steep hill.
Fibharr Ygosson: Prepare yourselves for the challenge!

As you prepare for the first round:

Fibharr Ygosson: A challenger has arrived to fight the great Fibnarr! Gather 'round.
Fibharr Ygosson: We'll carry out this wager in true tournament style. Challengers, prepare yourselves!
Fibharr Ygosson: First in the ring, a dangerous beauty whose eyes are as keen as her arrows! Famke the Fair!
Fibharr Ygosson: Don't turn your back on her partner—Wjerd Bladeborn! Two daggers, one kill!
Fibharr Ygosson: Ready? Bring the thunder!

As you prepare for the second round:

Fibharr Ygosson: Look at that! Top-notch fighting! Our challengers survived the first round.
Fibharr Ygosson: Second round, twice as tough. Here's a norn so big he blots out the sun! Pier Darkmountain!
Fibharr Ygosson: His lovely wife, Esmet Ravenswhisper, is no stranger to the darkness! Watch out!
Fibharr Ygosson: Their daughter's following in the family tradition with magic of her own. Welcome, young Ayla!
Fibharr Ygosson: Everyone prepared? All right! Bring the thunder!

As you prepare for the third round:

Fibharr Ygosson: The family that fights together falls together! Another round goes to the challengers!
Fibharr Ygosson: All right, you Vigil lose-masters. Prepare to chow down on victorificness!
Fibharr Ygosson: I am Fibharr Ygosson! I AM the thunder!

Defeating Fibharr:

Fibharr Ygosson: I yield. You've bested me.

After you defeated Fibharr Ygosson (cinematic):

Fibharr Ygosson: Impressive! I must admit, I didn't expect this much talent from the Vigil. Perhaps your order is more formidable than I'd though.
<Character name>: So, you'll help us fight Zhaitan's minions?
Fibharr Ygosson: A norn always keeps their word. My friends and I will fight for the Vigil at Lion's Arch. Together, we shall be victorific!
<Character name>: Still not a...ah, whatever. Victorific it is! We'll see you there, Fibharr.
Trahearne: Warmaster, a moment alone, if you will.
Trahearne: I've been considering our options. The Orrians are entrenched. It will be incredibly difficult to regain Claw Island.
<Character name>: We can't give up hope, Trahearne.
Trahearne: I haven't lost hope. In fact, I'm counting on hope to lead the way. I feel that we should ask for wisdom from the Pale Tree.
Trahearne: If anyone knows how to defeat Zhaitan, it is the Mother. Meet me at the Grove, and we'll speak with her before the battle.

After the cinematic:

Trahearne: Such brave people willing to risk so much. But do we even have a chance at victory?

Speaking with NPCs afterwards:

Fibharr Ygosson: Ha ha! You fought well, <Character name>. I'll be proud to fight beside you at Claw Island.
Talk end option tango.png I look forward to it.
