Aurene: Not quite. It wasn't lying when it said it was a constant.

Aurene: However, with the world's magics back in balance, it's no longer a threat to us.

Gorrik: I guess that means there's no more need for a "Dragon's Watch," huh? Unless you need watching, Aurene.

Aurene: I hope not. But you might want to keep an eye on me, just in case...

Caithe: It's a strange feeling. You spend so much of your life focused on one thing. Once you've done it...

Caithe: Well, where do you go from there?

Logan Thackeray: You take a vacation. A well-earned vacation.

Caithe: Maybe so.

Lady Kasmeer Meade: Well, I know I'm going to be busy—busy spreading the news we've entered a new cycle.

Detective Rama: Ministry of Information can help you with that. Just make sure you get final say on the ad buy.

Lady Kasmeer Meade: Okay. Thank you.

Champion. I'm afraid I'm still...processing what happened.

We survived because of you. You saved us.

Aurene: It's you, Champion, who rallied our friends from the brink of annihilation.

Aurene: I lent you my power because I believed in you.

Aurene: All this time, I've been searching for the purpose of the Elder Dragon.

Aurene: I think I know now.

How do you feel with the Void gone?

Aurene: I...I don't know. Not as different as I would have expected.

Aurene: Something's changed about the ley energy... Somehow it's more...pure.

Aurene: But make no mistake, my champion. As long as dragon magic continues to exist, so too will the Void.

Aurene: We only destroyed the form it took. But at least it won't be ending Tyria any time soon.

<Character name>: That...doesn't make me feel much better.

Aurene: It's stable. Now that I'm...the only one, I can "see" the ley lines in their entirety.

Aurene: If there's ever a ripple in the sea of magic, I'll know.

Aurene: As will you. Scion and Champion.

Aurene: Thank you, Champion. I wish I'd had more time with her.

Aurene: I hope I can do right by her legacy.

Speaking to Captain Ellen Kiel: Captain Ellen Kiel: First Elona, now Cantha. We've got to stop meeting like this, Commander.; Captain Ellen Kiel: I heard you apprehended Mai Trin. That's good; Theo Ashford's husband deserves some measure of justice.

So, Mai Trin was killed while helping you find the Aetherblades? Well, that's a twist I wasn't expecting. Sounds like I'm missing the full story. In your eyes, did she redeem herself?

Yes, she did.

Captain Ellen Kiel: Huh. Well, don't think I'll see eye-to-eye with you on that.

Captain Ellen Kiel: But I respect your opinion. Either way, I'm gonna write up my report and head back to Lion's Arch.

No, she can't ever make up for what she did.

Captain Ellen Kiel: My thoughts exactly. Still, never thought I'd see the day Mai Trin would save a city.

I'm kind of a big deal...; Yao: ...or maybe I was the only one available to deliver extra parts for the extractors...; Yao: I helped Joon and Taimi get everything hooked up, though.; Yao: The whole thing would've blown without that third screw for the oscillator. Yao: There's too much research to be done. We don't know how much longer the jade will work.

Yao: Joon's probably already got a plan, but still, we've got to work fast before the power grid fails.

Yao: When things settle down, I'd like to go to Rata Sum or the Black Citadel. See what the rest of the world is up to.

How's everything in Kaineng?

Yao: Oh, it's fine.

Yao: Still recovering from the reactor incident, but it's fine. Keepin' busy with...you know.

Yao: Been thinking a lot about Mai. I could've been nicer.

Yao: She was trying her best. Who cares who she was before? I've been there too... After the Brotherhood, I mean.

Yao: Joon helps people. Like me, Mai Trin. Gave us the opportunity to succeed. Move on.

Yao: I could've been fairer.

I didn't see you in the Jade Sea.

Yao: I kinda hid out for the part where you killed the dragon. That's not what I do. Though, I wouldn't mind learning...

<Character name>: Dragon's Watch could always use your help. Though, I don't see us watching many dragons after this...

Yao: Yeah, that'd be...pretty cool.

Speaking to Gorrik: Approaching him and Taimi; Gorrik: ...And at one point I climbed onto Rama's shoulders so I could jump off and kick a Void beast right in the face!

Speaking with him

Gorrik: Commander! I was just telling Taimi about our adventures.

Gorrik: Learning from the monks in Shing Jea... Investigating the Void like crack sleuths... Tracking down and stopping...

Gorrik: Ankka.

Taimi: Gorrik... I've got something I need to say, and I'm just gonna say it...

Taimi: I'm sorry for how I acted about (deep breath) Ankka.

Gorrik: Well, she did try to destroy the world... You don't have to apologize.

Taimi: No, I do. The way I acted didn't have anything to do with her plans. I was... jealous.

Gorrik: You were...jealous? Of Ankka?

Taimi: Yes. I was.

Gorrik: Well, apology enthusiastically accepted.

I'm ready for whatever comes next, Commander. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I know what I'm supposed to do.

You've really taken to this detective thing.

Gorrik: You noticed! Yes, I seem to be a bit of a natural, and the missing piece in Delaqua Investigations.

Gorrik: Don't get me wrong. Jory and Rama both have great instincts, but I bring something...unique to the table.

Gorrik: There's been so much breakthrough research in forensic science, and I've read all of it. I mean that quite literally.

Gorrik: So we're putting together what they know how to do with what I, well, know!

Gorrik: Criminals of Tyria be warned! The Friends' Detective Agency is soon to be on the case!

Speaking to Taimi

Can you believe it, Commander? The Dragon Cycle's...over. And it's all thanks to you and Aurene.

You've been working with Joon on how to keep the dragonjade charged?

Taimi: Uh-huh! Can't very well have this whole place just go dark, now, can we?

Taimi: Besides, I'm not ready to give up this suit.

Taimi: It hasn't changed any of the big things... Nothing will, and I'm pretty much at peace with that...

Taimi: But I didn't realize how much the little things were adding up. I've got more energy, I'm thinking more clearly...

Taimi: So, I'm not gonna rest until we find a way to keep the dragonjade charged.

Gorrik: Maybe a little bit of rest.

Taimi: Yes, yes... I don't actually mean NO rest. My midafternoon nap is nonnegotiable.

Taimi: But jade tech is my first, second, and third priority until we have a solution.

Speaking to Logan

Commander! Hard to believe it's all over. Pretty soon all we'll have left is the scars to remind us.

Your wounds aren't too serious, are they?

Logan: I'm healing up well enough... There'll be a scar, but hardly my first of those

Logan: And they're good conversation pieces, right?

Logan: But I'm a little harder to kill than that. You won't be rid of me that easy, Commander.

What's next for the Pact?

Logan: Well, like Dragon's Watch, the primary mission of the Pact is...ostensibly complete.

Logan: There'll be a meeting soon. We'll get all the leadership in one room and decide what's next.

Logan: While some people are eager to dissolve, others are not so sure the job is done.

Logan: Considering there is one Elder Dragon left.

Logan: Personally, I think it's also worth discussing how much the orders have been able to accomplish working together.

Logan: But if I say that out loud, pretty sure someone's going to accuse me of trying to hold on to power...

You were talking about vacation. Got any plans?

Logan: (chuckle) Well, I've got to deal with this Pact mess first, but...

Logan: I bought myself a small place in Southsun a few years ago. Haven't been back since I got it all set up...

Logan: But as soon as things settle down, I should make the time.

Speaking to Caithe: Caithe: Feels like the end of an era, doesn't it? The work of Destiny's Edge has concluded, at last.; Caithe: When Soo-Won...left us, I couldn't help but feel the immense pain in Kuunavang's heart.; <Character name>: It'd be like losing Aurene.; Caithe: That's right. Sometimes I wonder, though, if we haven't lost her already.; Caithe: I know we're not literally her parents, but it aches just the same to watch her drift away.; Caithe: I know it's for the best—that she take her place in the world. I just wish...it wasn't so unbearable.

Speaking to Joon: Joon: Commander. Glad we both made it to the other side.; Joon: I'll confess, for a moment I thought we were finished.; <Character name>: We would've been if you and Taimi hadn't brought the extractors back online.; Joon: "Backups upon backups."

What's on your mind, Commander?

What will you do about jade tech without Soo-Won?

Joon: Well, first—we need to assess. There are too many unknowns.

Joon: The ideal solution would be finding a way to infuse dragonjade without the presence of an Elder Dragon.

Joon: If the thaumaturgical ecosystem allows that, then great.

Joon: We'll also explore the possibility of alternative power sources.

Joon: Taimi's lending her mind, and I'm promoting Yao to head of R&D. Don't tell them yet.

Joon: Finally, Aurene's agreed to help in any way she can. For the time being.

Joon: There's a long road ahead of us, but together I really think we can pull it off.

Do you have any other thoughts about Soo-Won?

Joon: I took Soo-Won for granted. She was...fascinating. And selfless. The world lost someone irreplaceable today.

Joon: It speaks to her heart that she abided my ideas—even the reckless ones. She stayed in the reactor to protect us all.

What did you think about what Mai Trin did, in the end?

Joon: I'll never be able to repay her for saving the reactor and everyone in Kaineng.

Joon: I always knew she could do something great. Wherever she is...I hope she found some peace.

Speaking to Gi-Moon (if you completed Family Values): Gi-Moon: You again. It's easier to exchange pleasantries under less dramatic circumstances, isn't it?; Gi-Moon: Must be nice, having a little less weight on your shoulders. Joon, she...never asked for help. Did everything for herself.; Gi-Moon: You've seen what she built. How little she built it with. Ivan's blood is still pumping! Who knew it was even more thrilling to prevent destruction than it was to cause it!

Marjory Delaqua: Yeah, not happening. But I might be open to something more...subtle.

Marjory Delaqua: Mai Trin is...was...complicated. Think I've been pretty clear on my feelings about her as a 'Blade.

Marjory Delaqua: But when it came down to it, she did one of the bravest things I've ever seen. I respect who she was in the end.

Marjory Delaqua: Guess that's the nice thing about being an asshole. You can always choose to stop being one.

Marjory Delaqua: The person it's attached to is what makes it impressive.

Lady Kasmeer Meade: Well, dealing with high-ranking people was intimidating. I'd worry, "Am I worthy of their time?"

Lady Kasmeer Meade: But as I got the hang of things, I started realizing that not all of them were worthy of mine.

Lady Kasmeer Meade: Made all the difference. It's worth figuring out who should take up space in your life.

On Braham entering the bar (after speaking to the second guest): Lady Kasmeer Meade: Braham! You made it! You never responded to your invitation...; Braham Eirsson: Ah, yeah. I wasn't sure if it was a real invitation, or if you were just, you know, being polite.; Marjory Delaqua: Of course it was real. You're a member of this little family. Nothing's changed.; Braham Eirsson: Well, I guess it's a party then!

On Rox entering the bar (after speaking to the third guest): Marjory Delaqua: Rox! It's been too long. Glad you could make it.; Rox: Wouldn't miss it. Hope it's okay I brought along Frostbite?; Lady Kasmeer Meade: Frostbite is completely welcome. Though I'm not sure we have any devourer snacks...; Rox: He'll manage.

On Canach entering the bar (after speaking to the fourth guest): Marjory Delaqua: Canach! Not too busy hobnobbing to slum around with us tonight?; Canach: You wound me Ms. Delaqua. I could never forget the little people in my life.; Canach: After all, it was betting on your adventures that brought about my good fortune.; Canach: And also... I really do like you all.; Lady Kasmeer Meade: The feeling is mutual.; Lady Kasmeer Meade: Since you're the last person to arrive, we can get started here any minute...

Speaking to Marjory: Marjory Delaqua: Are you also bad with parties? I'm sticking by Kas all night; go find your own partner.; Lady Kasmeer Meade: The show will get started soon. Go mingle!

Speaking to Taimi: Taimi: Oh, it's so good to have an excuse to get everyone together! I've barely left Joon's lab since I saw you last.; <Character name>: How's that going? Have a long-term solution for Cantha's power needs?; Taimi: Not yet, but our experiments are going well. We've found ways to extend the life of current batteries.; Taimi: And Aurene was able to top everything off. We're getting close. I know we'll have something soon.; Taimi: But enough work talk! Let's enjoy the party. What do you think it's about? I've got a guess!

Speaking to Gorrik: Gorrik: Commander, if you have any mysteries to be solved, the Friends' Detective Agency is set to launch!; Marjory Delaqua: Not calling it that!; Gorrik: She'll come around. Anyway, we have secured the backing of a mysterious financier...; Gorrik: Jory says they want their identity kept secret, for now, but she assures us their pockets are deep.

Speaking to Braham: <Character name>: Braham, I haven't seen you since...well... Have you been feeling any better lately?; Braham Eirsson: Oh, uh... Well, it's a process, right? That's what the shamans say, anyway.; Braham Eirsson: I still have moments where I think about...everyone. But that seems right, you know?; Braham Eirsson: If I were to let myself forget 'em, well, it'd be like their sacrifice didn't mean anything...; <Character name>: You've earned peace of mind, Braham.; Braham Eirsson: Maybe... And I'm getting there. Every time I think about what happened, I'm less angry. Less sad.; Braham Eirsson: I can look back at it more like... a step on the road.

Speaking to Rox: <Character name>: Rox, how's everything going with the Olmakhan?; Rox: Other than that Void invasion, things've been good. We're all enjoying peacetime.; Rox: I've, uh, got a boyfriend.; <Character name>: Really? That's wonderful.; Rox: Yeah, he's a lifebinder, and about the kindest person you'll ever meet.; Rox: Don't know what he sees in me, but he swears he sees it and that's good enough.; Rox: He's excited to meet you and all, but I didn't want to crash Kas and Jory's party.

Speaking to Logan: <Character name>: Logan, I didn't realize you were so close to Kas and Jory.; Logan Thackeray: Oh yes, we've known each other for quite some time.; Logan Thackeray: The three of us had a few late-night conversations in this very bar...; Logan Thackeray: Drinking too much wine and venting about all our responsibilities.; Logan Thackeray: Kasmeer does a surprisingly good impression of the queen. We reunited back at Arborstone to reflect on the loss of Soo-Won and what it means for the Dragon Cycle to be over. We expect that Aurene will be able to take the place of the lost Elder Dragons and provide the stability that Tyria's magic craves, but if I've learned anything from the last ten years, it's that Tyria never behaves like you expect. Best to expect nothing and be prepared for anything. But maybe, finally, we will get a break.
We're all still feeling Soo-Won's loss, and that won't change soon, but most of my friends seemed optimistic about what's to come. Cantha faces a great challenge in replacing Soo-Won as the source of their jade power, but Joon, Taimi, Yao, and the country's many other great minds are already on the problem. Kasmeer and the rest of our politically minded friends will be keeping busy negotiating new alliances, as all those conversations basically ground to a halt—what with the world-ending peril taking priority.
There also seems to be an emerging new private detective agency made up of Rama, Marjory, and—remarkably—Ivan and Gorrik. For the rest of us so used to chasing dragons, our own futures are not so clear. What happens to the dragon watcher when there are none left to watch? I suppose we're going to find out.

After a couple of months of relative quiet, I received a message from Kasmeer inviting me to attend a party being thrown by her and Marjory at the Dead End Bar. It seemed like a good opportunity to reconnect with friends and see how everyone had settled into the Age of Aurene.

I arrived at the bar to find that about half the party was already there, so we mingled until everyone showed up. Kasmeer and Marjory seemed to be bubbling over with excitement, and it was clear that something big was going to happen. When our full party had gathered—Taimi, Gorrik, Logan, Rox, Rytlock, Canach, and Braham—they stood in front of all of us and proposed to each other! I think most of us weren't surprised, but that didn't make it any less exciting.
As I looked around, I thought about how good it was to see everyone be able to do the sort of normal things we've all been missing out on for so long. Life's moving on. The guild is moving on. I suppose maybe I'll have to move on some day too. But to what? I don't know yet. I suppose I'll find out when I get there.
