The first time a phantasm would become a clone, it instead resummons itself and attacks again. Resummoned phantasms inflict a percentage of the original's damage.
(Resummoned phantasms are briefly dazed.)

Version history[edit]

Patch Changes
July 28, 2020
  • Fixed a bug that could cause this trait to daze resummoned phantasms more than once.
May 08, 2018
  • Resummoned phantasms now do 50% less damage in PvP and WvW.
February 06, 2018
  • This trait now causes phantasms to resummon themselves after the first time they would normally be replaced with a clone.
    • A phantasm that resummons itself will not create a clone.
October 23, 2015 Heart of Thorns release:
  • Chronophantasma has been added to the game.

Notes[edit]

  • Effects that trigger on phantasms becoming clones, Persistence of Memory, will trigger both when the phantasm resummons itself, and when the second one eventually becomes a clone.
  • Effects that trigger upon summoning a phantasm will also trigger on the second phantasm (Phantasmal Haste, Illusionary Inspiration, etc.)
  • As indicated by the tooltip, this trait does not decrease the damage of phantasms in PvE. It only reduces the damage of resummoned phantasms on PvP and WvW game modes.
