Shortbow Ritualist's Vindicator Vindicator[edit]

Build Rating (Subjective)
Criterion Rating
Burst Damage 3/5
Sustained Damage 4/5
Utility Options 4/5
Survivability 5/5
Difficulty 2/5

Condition Vindicator is a beast in open world that covers all the essential Boons like Might.png Might, Fury.png Fury, Protection.png Protection and Quickness.png Quickness on itself and frequently extends boons on allies via Vassals of the Empire Vassals of the Empire. It is one solid Condition Damage.png Condition Damage modifier away from becoming a comparably strong choice for dps, but it does enough damage to complete all content in the game. It can share its gear with condition Alacrity.png Alacrity Renegade Renegade and condition Quickness.png Quickness Herald Herald, which allows you to flexibly change to those.

Revenants are – together with Thieves– the only profession in the game that has a resource bar to manage determines how often you can use skills. On this profession, skills have different Energy costs. This leads to some skills being very powerful with comparably short cooldowns (moreso than on other professions), but the Energybar restricts your ability to use them. That is because they usually have a high Energy cost as the main trade-off.

Legends[edit]

  • On revenants, Legends invoked from the Mists define your utility skill bar. You can still change the order of them, but each legend has a fixed selection of utility skills.
  • Swapping Legends counts as a Weapon swap, and thus triggers all effects that occur when swapping weapons.
  • You can swap Legends every 10 seconds, which will replace your entire utility skill bar and is NOT affected by Alacrity.png Alacrity.

In this build, the two legends of choice are  Legendary Demon Stance.png Legendary Demon Stance and  Legendary Alliance Stance.png Legendary Alliance Stance, as they provide the highest combination of damage for a Condition-focused build.

Skill Usage & Choices[edit]

Utility Skills[edit]

Utility Skills (Alliance)
Skill Choice Notes
Selfish Spirit.png Selfish Spirit Cheap and strong heal that also applies Might.png Might to you and Vulnerability.png Vulnerability to enemies. The short cooldown and scaling per enemy makes this very potent in open world.
Nomad's Advance.png Nomad's Advance This skill is decent damage on a condition build and applies lots of vulnerability. Important part of survivability in open world; more on that later.
Scavenger Burst.png Scavenger Burst is a mobility skill that also applies additional Might.png Might to you. Use it to cover ground, also great in combination with  Scavenger Burst.png Scavenger Burst.
Reaver's Rage.png Reaver's Rage is the cheapest Stun break available to you, so use it in emergency scenarios. Also provides Stability.png Stability!
Spear of Archemorus.png Spear of Archemorus This is the strongest Condition Damage.png Condition Damage skill in  Legendary Alliance Stance.png Legendary Alliance Stance. It deals damage after a ~3 second delay, so don't use it on mobs that die before it does damage.
Utility Skills (Mallyx)
Skill Choice Notes
Empowering Misery.png Empowering Misery Cheap and strong heal that also heals you for each condition on you, but does not remove them.
Banish Enchantment.png Banish Enchantment This skill applies Chilled.png Chilled and removes 3 boons, which can be very useful for encounters like Dhuum, Qadim the Peerless or Vale Guardian.
Call to Anguish.png Call to Anguish Leap finisher that also Pulls enemies to the spot where you land and applies Chilled.png Chilled. Can be used to group mobs up, but is very expensive to use.
Pain Absorption.png Pain Absorption Stun break that will transfer conditions from nearby allies to you and applies both Resistance.png Resistance and Resolution.png Resolution to you. Very expensive, should only be used in emergency situations on Mallyx.
Embrace the Darkness.png Embrace the Darkness This is an Upkeep skill that will slowly drain your Energy and applis Torment.png Torment every second. Very strong and the first thing you should actviate when you swap to Mallyx. Will apply even more Torment.png Torment whenever you used a skill that costs Energy.

  • Since the vast majority of damage comes from Bleeding.png Bleeding and Torment.png Torment, it is important to reach 100% condition duration on it. We violate that rule here, as Superior Rune of the Trapper.pngSuperior Rune of the Trapper is the best overall choice despite Superior Rune of the Nightmare.pngSuperior Rune of the Nightmare having longer condition duration.
  • For a budget variant, simply replace all armor pieces of Viper's with rare/exotic Ritualist's. For the backpack, you can use a Crafter's backpack of the highest tier and select either Celestial or Rabid.
  • Ascended food and gear is always ideal, but almost never required. Exotic gear is fine for everything aside from higher-tier fractals.

Increasing General Survivability[edit]

For OW, it can make sense to make a build more forgiving, so that you can sustain on your own.
