Walkthrough[edit]
Upon arriving at the village, you will find it already engulfed in flames and under attack by the Risen. Charge into the fray and assist the Seraph. You start off with only Crusader Hiroki as an ally, but as you help out with indivdual fights along the way, some of the surviving NPCs might join you (others will just stay and guard the area). You don't have to clear out the entire village, although it is better to take out any undead along the way, since otherwise they will just follow you around and be annoying. As a quick alternative, you can jump down directly to the Risen Abominations after starting the mission - kill the two to the west to trigger the cinematic.
Once you reach the docks, there are two last groups to finish off, next to Captain Rendar. Both have a Risen Abomination, but as they spawn close together and the NPCs are fighting before you arrive, the groups tend to be merged into one large mob already. These are the only enemies you actually have to kill; once they are defeated, all other Risen on the map die automatically. You could skip straight to the final fight by going down the hill directy (see map).
After the Risen are defeated, Captain Rendar will reveal some information about Kellach to you; after discussing your options with the Order representatives back in Divinity's Reach, pick a course of action and the mission will end.

Dialogue[edit]
At Triskellion Vale[edit]
Cinematic with Hiroki:
- Crusader Hiroki: It's worse than we feared. Zhaitan's minions are everywhere.
- <Character name>: It looks bad down there. Do we have enough soldiers to save the town?
- Crusader Hiroki: Whether we do or not, we're going to try. If my death saves an innocent life, then I've done my duty as Vigil—but I plan to go down fighting.
- <Character name>: Agreed. What's Vigil protocol in this kind of situation?
- Crusader Hiroki: Well, we've got no time to form ranks. I sent our soldiers ahead into the town to drive back the undead. They'll need our help.
- <Character name>: I'm ready for a fight, Hiroki. Let's not waste any more time.
After the cinematic:
- Farmer: Help! (sob)
If you don't move for a while:
- Crusader Hiroki: Don't stop, there's still more.
- Crusader Hiroki: More undead over here.
After saving Seraph Soldier or each group of Seraph Soldiers:
- Seraph Soldier: Thanks, but don't let up. Everybody else is still fighting inside.
- Seraph Soldier: Go on ahead! We'll hold this landing against whatever else they send!
- Seraph Soldier: I'll guard the front entrance. Move in. There are more of us still fighting inside.
- Seraph Soldier: Let's go, I've got your back.
Talking to Hiroki during the fight:
- Crusader Hiroki: The undead are everywhere! We have to destroy them before the town is overrun!
- I'm with you. Stay close and we'll handle this together.
Cinematic with Rendar after clearing Risen:
- Captain Rendar: We were in real trouble until you showed up. Those undead came out of nowhere.
- <Character name>: How did the attack start?
- Captain Rendar: The first thing I saw was Corporal Kellach, screaming and cursing. Then the undead started swarming and I lost track of him.
- Crusader Hiroki: Kellach. You know him? Where is he now?
- Captain Rendar: Do I know him? Sure. Kellach's assigned to this post, but he's been missing for days. It's not like him to go AWOL.
- Captain Rendar: Look, I don't want to get him in trouble. Kellach is a good soldier, and a good man. He probably just overstayed his leave.
- Captain Rendar: It's that pirate girl. I don't know why he was looking for her, but I bet she's done something to him.
- <Character name>: Pirate girl? What was her name?
- Captain Rendar: I think he said it was "Alastia". He probably meant Alastia Crow, she's crew of a ship docked southeast of Nebo Terrace.
- <Character name>: All right, Captain. We'll get to the bottom of this.
Talking to NPCs after cinematic:
- Crusader Hiroki: Those undead nearly destroyed Triskell Quay. We need to find the source of this corruption and rip its heart out.
- Justice will be done, Advocate. The Vigil will see to that.
- I look forward to it.
If that missing Seraph, Kellach, is responsible for these deaths, I swear—I'll make him pay.
- [sic] I'm impressed.
- Thank you, Advocate. Each one was mentored and trained at Vigil Keep, the finest military encampment in the world.
- That must be an[sic] truly amazing place.
Hiroki, your soldiers fought bravely. - What will happen to the people of Triskell Quay
- Captain Rendar mentioned someone named 'Alastia Crow.' Any idea who that is?
- She was a pirate, and a troublemaker. Used to squeeze money from people by promising to read their futures.
- Read the future? Could she really do that?
- I don't know, but I do know that charged an exorbitant fee. Alastia was the worst kind of parasite—she fed on people's hopes.
- That's awful. Can I ask another question?
- Sounds like a terrible woman. Come on, let's get back and tell the others.
- No argument here. We need answers, and we need them fast.
- Captain Rendar: Thank the Six God's for the Vigil! We'd have been destroyed without your help.
- The Seraph you saw among the Risen—was he alive of undead?
- He looked alive to me. Wasn't rotting or anything. Just kept mumbling to himself, like a madman.
- Can I ask another question?
- Good to know. Thank you.
- You should be safe now. Tell me, do you often see Risen here?
- We occasionally see one of two washed in from the sea, but this was far more than our militia could handle.
- May I ask you another question, Captain?
- I wish you the best in rebuilding your town. Good-bye.
- I've heard Triskell Quay was full of pirates. Is that really true?
- Pira—oh! You're Captain Thackeray's friend, aren't you? No, no pirates here. Good day to you, move along.
- May I ask you another question, Captain?
- Thanks for the information.
- Can you tell me more about Alastia Crow?
- She sailed with the crew of the "ravenous." Never met her myself, but I heard she's some kind of mystic.
- Mystic? What do you mean? Was she a spellcaster?
- That, and more. They say she could see the future. I don't know, I never saw her do it.
- May I ask you another question, Captain?
- Thanks for the information. We'll look into it.
- I'm glad we could be here when you needed us. Good-bye.
At Salma District[edit]
Approaching the representatives::
- Scholar Josir: Alastia Crow had a rare talent for precognition. I wonder what Kellach wanted to know?
- Agent Ihan: Whatever it was, I think the information drove him mad. I'm surprised that doesn't happen to more Priory scholars, too.
- Scholar Josir: Clearly, the Order of Whispers has no respect for pure research.
Talking to Logan:
- Logan Thackeray: It's your decision, my friend. I know you'll make the right choice.
- I'll do my best, Logan.
Cinematic with representatives:
- Logan Thackeray: Advocate, good to see you. How'd your mission go?
- <Character name>: We didn't find Kellach, but we discovered that he's connected to a pirate named Alastia Crow. I want to talk to her and see what she knows.
- Scholar Josir: Talk with her? I'm afraid that's impossible. She's dead. Her pirate ship, the Ravenous, was destroyed by an undead attack two days ago.
- <Character name>: You're sure she's dead? Did any of her crew survive?
- Agent Ihan: Even if she's dead, Alastia was a seer. She might have seen this coming, and left something behind that we could use.
- Scholar Josir: A few of her crew are still alive, camped near the wreckage of their ship. She might have told them more about what's going on.
- Agent Ihan: We need to find out what Kellach wanted from Alastia. Pirates don't tend to be trusting folk. I think a little nautical infiltration and investigation is in order.
- Scholar Josir: The Order of Whispers are a disreputable, shady bunch. You and the pirates would get a long just fine.
- Scholar Josir: I have a better suggestion. Even if Alastia Crow is dead, she can still be helpful. I know an accomplished Priestess of Grenth who could summon the pirate's spirit.
- Agent Ihan: The Durmand Priory's "better suggestion" is to disturb the dead? You scholars really will turn over every rock to get your answers—even tombstones.
- <Character name>: Hiroki, any suggestions from the Vigil?
- Crusader Hiroki: None, Advocate. While these two are squirreling for answers, Vigil soldiers will watch for another undead attack.
- Logan Thackeray: It's your call, Advocate. Infiltrate the pirates, or summon Alastia's spirit?
Talking to NPCs before deciding:
- Crusader Hiroki: Faugh! Bah on these library crawlers and sneak thieves. The other orders are wasting time, and people are dying.
- I understand your frustration, but we have to know where to attack.
- I know, I know. But I don't have to like it. Call on me when you have something. The Vigil will be ready to pitch in again as soon as there's some real action.
- Glad to hear it, Hiroki. I'll see you then.
- Agent Ihan: Very well, <Character name>. Time to choose.
- Can you tell me both plans one more time?
- The Priory wants to hold a ritual of Grenth to speak with the dead seer's spirit. The Order of Whispers plans to infiltrate the pirates and gain information.
- All right. I understand, thank you.
- I need to think it about before I decide.
- Ihan, tell me more about your plan. How do you intend to infiltrate?
- Alastia told her crew everything. The hard part will be gaining their trust... but I already have a plan.
- Interesting. Can I ask you another question?
- I'll have to think about it. Thank you for explaining.
- Very well, I'm ready to decide.
- Very well. Do you want to infiltrate the pirates?
- Whatever Alastia was doing, it's the province of mortals, not gods. I'll go with you and infiltrate the pirates.
- Excellent! I need to prepare. Meet me near the Lionbridge Expanse and we'll take it from there.
- All right, Ihan. See you there.
- Actually, I need more time to think.
- I haven't decided yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do.
- Scholar Josir: So what's it going to be, <Character name>? You should choose quickly, before the situation gets worse.
- Can you tell me both plans one more time?
- The Priory wants to hold a ritual of Grenth to speak with the dead seer's spirit. The Order of Whispers plans to infiltrate the pirates and gain information.
- All right. I understand, thank you.
- I need to think it about before I decide.
- Josir, tell me more about what this ritual involves.
- Priestess Rhie is greatly favored by Grenth. She can pierce the veil and call Alastia back. It may be dangerous, but we'll learn a great deal.
- Interesting. Can I ask you another question?
- I'll have to think about it. Thank you for explaining.
- Very well, I'm ready to choose.
- Very well. Do you want to summon Alastia's spirit?
- Direct information is best. I'm going to work with you to summon Alastia's spirit.
- Reaching out to the dead will get us the most information. Meet me by Hezran Outcrop, and we'll get started.
- Thanks, Josir. I'll see you there.
- Actually, I need more time to think it over.
- I haven't decided yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do.
Speaking with NPCs after choosing the Order of Whispers:
- Agent Ihan: We put you in a tough spot, but I trust you're comfortable with your choice?
- Those pirates will have information—and it'll be current.
- I like your confidence, Advocate. Keep that attitude; it'll make you a better pirate.
- Good point. See you at the Lionbridge Expanse.
- Scholar Josir: Must've been a difficult decision. I hope you're still certain?
- Don't worry, Josir. Ihan and I will get the information from the pirates.
- I'll continue to worry until you return... without a knife in your back. Good luck, Advocate.
- Fair enough. See you soon.
Speaking with NPCs after choosing the Priory:
- Agent Ihan: We put you in a tough spot, but I trust you're comfortable with your choice?
- I'm sure. I want to help the Priory summon Alastia's sprit.
- Well, that's your decision, but I'll admit-the idea gives me the creeps. I'll be here, praying for you.
- It'll be fine, Ihan. Just wait and see.
- Scholar Josir: Must've been a difficult decision. I hope you're still certain?
- I look forward to the ritual. Should be very interesting.
- I agree! The Mists is one of the greatest unexplored frontiers. Think of all the things we could learn!
- Thanks, Josir. I'll see you at Hezran Outcrop.

Notes[edit]
- The starting cinematic and the dialog options imply that there are soldiers from the Vigil fighting in the village, but there are only member of the Seraph present. Also the story summary refers to a "lieutenant" (see "My Story") but you get the information from Captain Rendar.
