Walkthrough[edit]
After entering the instance you will be outside a cave. A few ettin will be guarding the entrance. It is possible to pull one away to dispatch and then sneak by the others into the cave. After the cinematic you will be locked in the cave with more ettins. Once they are taken care of you will find Bigsby needing to be revived. Once he is on his feet, head to the gate and destroy it to get out. Once the gate is destroyed, a short scene plays with Tervelan running away but running into Thackeray, who stops him. Approach Thackery for another cinematic, and then talk to Tervelan. The quest will end once you finish talking to him.
Depending on your personality, you may have the option of killing him after you've talked to him.

Dialogue[edit]
Cinematic after entering the cave:
- Captain Tervelan: Of course you're still alive. Should've known a few centaurs couldn't kill the "Hero of Shaemoor." They're your specialty, after all, right?
- <Character name>: I know what happened to Falcon Company, Tervelan. How could you give them up to the centaurs? How could you betray their trust like that?
- Captain Tervelan: I didn't want to do it. My soldiers were starving, our equipment was ruined...I had to do something or the centaurs would have killed us all.
- Captain Tervelan: So, yeah, I sold out Falcon Company so that some politician could say the queen was a bad ruler. But the rest of my command lived.
- Captain Tervelan: I got funds to reequip my soldiers, munitions, decent rations, and a promotion. My command's killed more centaurs than the rest of the Seraph combined—thanks to Falcon Company's sacrifice.
- <Character name>: And all it cost was one company of your fellow soldiers. You're not an officer, you're a greedy, lowlife thug. And you'll pay for what you've done.
- Captain Tervelan: You and Bigsby... If you hadn't dug so deep, you both could've done a lot to help us. All of us. But now you'll just be ettin food. Bigsby may be already.
- Captain Tervelan: This gate should hold you all in. I'm sorry it came to this. Good-bye, "Hero." When you meet her, tell your sister I said hello.
After reviving Bigsby:
- Sergeant Bigsby: Tervelan sucker punched me and left me for ettin food. I'm glad you're here. We still may be able to catch him, if we hurry.
Speaking with Bigsby:
- Sergeant Bigsby: Thanks for the save! Those ettin nearly ate my face. We need to get out of here now, and catch Tervelan before he gets too much of a head start.
- Ha, ha, very funny...ow. Don't make me laugh, okay?
- You got it. Stick close to me, and we'll find a way out.
Are you sure you're okay, Bigsby? You want me to try to carry you out of here?
- We both will...right after we get out of this cave.
- Good point. Let's go.
Nobody double crosses me. I'll take it out of his hide!
- Justice is great, but right now, I'm more worried about freedom. Is there a way out of this cave?
- Let's go find out.
I'll see Tervelan brought before a tribunal for his crimes. There will be justice.
- No time to waste. Let's go.
While damaging the Ettin Gate:
- Sergeant Bigsby: We're getting there! Keep it up! Tervelan is going to pay! (at 50%)
- Sergeant Bigsby: Don't quit now! We're so close! (at 25%)
Once the gate is broken:
- Sergeant Bigsby: There goes Tervelan! Hurry, we can still catch him!
Exiting the cave:
- Captain Tervelan: You win, Thackeray. This time.
Cinematic after escaping the cave and meeting up with Thackeray:
- Logan Thackeray: Hey, are you all right?
- <Character name>: Fine, Captain Thackeray. I'm glad you're here. Tervelan's a traitor. On top of two fresh counts of attempted murder, he was the one who betrayed the Screaming Falcons.
- Logan Thackeray: Bigsby's letter said as much. Then Tervelan kept insisting no one was in the cave, a bit too strongly for me to believe him. I'm glad you made it out.
- <Character name>: Captain, I think Tervelan knows something about the survivors of Falcon Company. I need to ask him a few questions.
- Logan Thackeray: By all means. Anything he can do to help redeem himself would be in his best interests. Life in prison can be rough on a traitor.
- Logan Thackeray: You hear that, Tervelan? You'd better answer my friend's questions. It's a long way to prison, and the road could be very uncomfortable.
Talking with Tervelan:
- Captain Tervelan: Wait, don't kill me! I won't die in disgrace just to protect some rich politician. I...I never met the guy, but he signed his letters "Minister Arton." He paid me to order the Falcons into ambush.
- What would a Krytan minister gain from their deaths?
- When a whole company of Seraph die, people notice—and they get mad. I heard the ministers used the death of Falcon Company to blame the Queen for wasting troops and funds in Ebonhawke.
- So that was the plan. Make the Queen look bad, and turn the populace against the treaty negotiations with the charr.
- Exactly—or so Arton's letters implied. I just did what I was told. I ordered them into the field, gave them a specific patrol route, and wrote Arton to tell him where they'd be. The centaurs did the rest.
- And you got a promotion out of it, didn't you, Tervelan?
- Sergeant Bigsby: So what do we do with Tervelan now? We've got the name of his boss. I say we kill him. He deserves nothing better!
- No, we need to try him publicly—for Falcon Company's honor.
- Not our call, but the trip may be a rough one.
- No killing. Do what you must, so long as he can testify.
- No, we'll let the law deal with him.
- Disgraceful. You'll be tried for your crimes.
- That's no excuse. The law will deal with you now.
- That's what we needed to know. Now you belong to the law.
Speaking with your allies again:
- Captain Tervelan: This isn't over, you know. I'm protected. I have friends in high places.
- What? You have to take me in! That's the law! Bigsby—I order you to stop this!
- Bigsby isn't one of your thugs. Defend yourself, and at least you can die with the scraps of your honor.
I don't see any "friends" here, Tervelan. Stand up. The Screaming Faclons will have their revenge.
- Die, Tervelan.
- Logan Thackeray: How could he do it? Falcon Company trusted him. He was their commander!
- He chose to deal with criminals. Now he'll get to live with them.
- Sergeant Bigsby: I still don't get it, <Character name>. I trusted Tervelan with my life. We all did. If he can sell us out, anybody can. If the Seraph are this weak, how will Kryta survive?
- It's Tervelan that was weak. If Kryta sticks together, we'll see better times.
Talking to your allies again if you chose to kill Tervelan:
- Logan Thackeray: I don't agree with your choice—but I understand it. Remind me not to cross you.
- He murdered the Falcon Company. It was better than he deserved.
- Sergeant Bigsby: He betrayed the Seraph. He betrayed his oath to Kryta. Still...
- I have no regret. That was for Falcon Company.
