Walkthrough[edit]

Go to the Seraph Headquarters in Divinity's Reach and talk to Logan Thackeray. After the cinematic, you need to talk to Thackeray to update his records. He will ask you about you and your sister's lineage.

Go to the monastery and speak with Captain Tervelan. After a short cinematic the monastery will be attacked by centaur with several groups inside the monastery. After defeating those centaurs, go to the north gate, their leader beckons the hero to confront him in combat. This is a one on one fight with the leader, but if you can pull the leader into the gate, some NPCs may offer a little help. Once the leader is dead, you are ordered to meet up with the squad at the centaur camp.

Destroy weapon racks to draw out Mallus the Impure. It's recommended you clear out the centaurs in the area before attacking too many weapon racks as destroying them spawns more centaurs and may overwhelm the party.

Once Mallus the Impure is dead, Sergeant Bigsby tells the player to investigate near the tent for information about the prisoners. Upon finding the journal, speak with Sergeant Bigsby. He will give you a choice in which quest to do next, either Seek Logan's Aid or Confronting Captain Tervelan, to complete the mission.

Dialogue[edit]

Seraph Headquarters[edit]

Cinematic with Logan:

Logan Thackeray: Good to see you again, my friend. You have excellent timing. Have you ever heard of Falcon Company?
<Character name>: Falcon Company? Of course I have. One of the most decorated units of Seraph, wiped out by a centaur ambush. My sister was a soldier in that command.
Logan Thackeray: Your sister? I'm sorry to hear that. I… I didn't know. You'll be even more interested in this information than I thought.
Logan Thackeray: Scouts in the Queen's Forest discovered pages torn from an old journal. They were apparently written by Willem Harrinton, a member of Falcon Company.
Logan Thackeray: The writing on the pages is rough. Hasty. But it describes survivors of the battle taken prisoner by the centaurs.
<Character name>: Survivors? My sister could be alive? Logan, you've got to let me investigate. I need to know what happened to Deborah.
Logan Thackeray: I thought you'd feel that way. Let's update my records, and then you can head to Eldvin Monastery and speak to Captain Tervelan.
Logan Thackeray: Though he's been promoted to Captain of Queensdale, Tervelan once commanded Falcon Company. He might be able to tell us more.

Talking with Thackeray after cinematic.

Logan Thackeray: Falcon Company's records were largely destroyed by centaur raids. I'm trying to get a complete roster. Your sister was of Krytan descent?
Talk end option tango.png
Yes. We're both Krytan.
Talk end option tango.png
No, my sister and I trace our lineage to Elona.
Talk end option tango.png
Actually, we're of Canthan descent.
Talk end option tango.png
Ascalonian, sir, and proud of it.

Krytan Freeholds[edit]

Approaching the monastery:

Seraph Soldier: The Hero of Shaemoor is finally here, everybody! The captain's expecting you. He's up on the wall.

Talking to NPCs before Tervelan:

Seraph Soldier: Captain Thackeray sent a message that you were going to visit. We're all very excited to meet the hero of Shaemoor.
Talk more option tango.png
Thanks. Where is Captain Tervelan?
He's up on the wall, where he can watch everything. Take these stairs and follow the walkway. You can't miss him.
Talk more option tango.png
Have you heard of the Screaming Falcons? (Same as below)
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks. Good-bye.
Talk more option tango.png
Have you heard of the Screaming Falcons?
Of course. They're legendary, especially around here. The best company in the Seraph, but then... well, you know.
Talk more option tango.png
Did you ever meet any of them?
They were before my time. But I've heard stories about that week, laying out the bodies for burial. They say some of the bodies were missing. It sickens me to think what the centaurs did with them.
Talk more option tango.png
Where is Captain Tervelan? (Same as "Thanks. Where is Captain Tervelan?")
Talk end option tango.png
Me too. Good-bye.
Talk more option tango.png
Where is Captain Tervelan? (Same as "Thanks. Where is Captain Tervelan?")
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks. Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm excited to be here.
Abbey Brother: Kormir's blessing upon all who defend our sacred monastery! And if you're especially pious about it, I'll throw in a flagon of our finest ale.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm not doing this for a reward.
Sister Melea: We need to keep this monastery open. The frontier needs Kormir's wisdom...and our ale.
Talk end option tango.png
Good thing the Seraph are here.
Brother Gellan: Why do centaurs want to kill us? Don't they like ale?
Talk end option tango.png
They like ale. They don't like us.
Lieutenant Gordon: Another "hero," huh? I've met your kind before. You're brave enough—inside city walls. Out here, you're just a walking corpse waiting for your time to come.
Ferocity
You got a problem with civilians, soldier? Let's step outside these walls, and I'll teach you a little respect.
Huh. A dog that can bite. Keep that attitude, and maybe you'll survive out here.
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks, I will.
Charisma
All Krytans are in this together, soldier. Why are we fighting each other?
Because I'm tired of fighting for a country that's forgotten about me. Divinity's Reach gets circuses. We get graves.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm sorry you feel that way.
Dignity
Stiffen your spine. You're representing queen and country. Petulance doesn't befit your station.
Queen and country? Yeah. They do deserve better. Better than this.
Talk end option tango.png
Keep that in mind.
Talk more option tango.png
I think you'll find that I'm brave enough to handle anything that happens out here.
That's what they all say. We'll see if you're right. Or dead.
Talk end option tango.png
Time will tell. See you around.
Talk end option tango.png
Whatever you say, ground-pounder.
Lieutenant Reginald: You're the hero? I guess I expected someone more...more impressive.
Ferocity
I'm impressive enough. If you don't think so, I'll impress my fist on your jaw, and then we'll see.
Bold words! One day we'll have to see if you can live up to them.
Talk end option tango.png
Pick the time and place. I'll be there.
Charisma
Hey, there's no need to be snarky. I'm here to take work off your hands.
Hey, yeah! You go deal with the centaurs. I could use some R&R.
Talk end option tango.png
That's the spirit. I think.
Dignity
I expect a better attitude from a Seraph on duty, soldier.
I'll shape up, but I won't stand down. Now, get out of my face.
Talk end option tango.png
Done.
Talk more option tango.png
Impressive? In what way?
Well...bigger, maybe. Definitely taller. And with rays of light shooting out from head. I don't know!
Talk end option tango.png
I see. Sorry to disappoint you. Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm not wasting my time on you.

Cinematic with Tervelan:

Captain Tervelan: You must be the hero Thackeray warned me about. He says you're investigating the Falcons? That true?
<Character name>: Yes. Captain Thackeray said you'd help me. Have you heard anything about centaurs taking prisoners?
Captain Tervelan: Thackeray's been swaddled in the royal court for too long. He's forgotten how rough it is out here. You've wasted a trip.
Captain Tervelan: Falcon Company is long gone. May Grenth have mercy on their souls. Go home, kid. You're in over—
Lieutenant Gordon: Centaurs! At the north gate! Get the monks inside! To arms!
Captain Tervelan: Right on schedule. C'mon, hero. You're about to learn what it's like outside the city gates. To the north gate! After you.

After the cinematic:

Captain Tervelan: Push them back! I don't want them inside the wall!

Talking to priests during battle in courtyard:

Brother Gellan: Help us! We're not soldiers, and I don't want to die!
Talk end option tango.png
Easy, Brother. I'm here to help.
Abbey Brother: I'm fine, child. Help the soldiers!
Sister Melea: We're all right! Please, just help the Captain!

During the battle in the courtyard:

Captain Tervelan: I see they brought their rifles! That raises the stakes.

At the north gate:

Captain Tervelan: Hold up, Hero. That's their leader. Let's see what he wants.
Hruud the Reaver: Bring out the hero! I am Hruud the Reaver, pillager of human lands! I will kill any human who claims to be stronger than I.
Hruud the Reaver: Let me see this great hero of Shaemoor I've heard has come to die beneath my hooves.
Captain Tervelan: Hm. I wonder how he found out you were here. That's unfortunate. You can sneak out the back, if you like.
Hruud the Reaver: I challenge you, Hero of Shaemoor! Reveal yourself!
Captain Tervelan: Make it a good fight! I better see some fancy moves!

During the fight with Hruud:

Brother Gellan: Balthazar is with you! Strike true.
Abbey Brother: Balthazar will protect you, my child. Now slay this vermin!
Tamini Warrior: Ha! That's no Seraph! None of Tervelan's soldiers are brave enough to face our champion!
Sister Melea: Please, in the name of all Six Gods, tear his wretched heart out!
Tamini Warrior: Hruud has fallen! Withdraw!

Talking with priests after defeating Hruud:

Brother Gellan: That was amazing! You had those centaurs at your mercy!
Charisma
I'm just another servant of the queen. Nothing more.
You're far braver than most. That was well fought.
Talk end option tango.png
Thank you. I do my best.
Talk end option tango.png
Thank you, but don't let your guard down. Those centaurs will be back.
Sister Melea: Kormir bless you! Now, we can brew again!
Dignity
I'm fortunate. Balthazar was watching over me. I just couldn't let them hurt the monks.
Your courage is inspiring! I'm going to name one of our beers after your deeds. What should we call it?
Talk more option tango.png
Hero's Hops
Done! Soon every inn and tavern from Divinity's Reach to Lion's Arch will be toasting your fame!
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks, Melea. That's flattering.
Talk more option tango.png
Courage Cocktail (Same as "Hero's Hops")
Talk more option tango.png
Bravery Bold Brew (Same as "Hero's Hops")
Talk end option tango.png
That makes this a victory for everyone.
Abbey Brother: May Kormir smile upon you. As for that ale I promised, would you take a rain check? With all this centaur hubbub, we're behind on our brewing.
Ferocity
Centaurs nearly butchered you, and all you can think of is brewing? Are you mad?
Not mad. Just practical. That beer keeps this monastery alive as much as its soldiers do.
Talk end option tango.png
That's one way to look at it, I suppose.
Talk end option tango.png
Not a problem.

Talk with Tervelan after defeating Hruud:

Captain Tervelan: Not bad for a city scab. I'm beginning to think you're as competent as they say you are. So tell me, what are your plans?
Talk quest option tango.png
I plan to find out what happened to Falcon Company.
What happened to the Screaming Falcons was a tragedy, but this is a fool's errand. I can't spare good soldiers for a personal vendetta. I need them to handle these centaurs.
Talk quest option tango.png
Let me help. If we get done quickly, maybe your soldiers can help me afterward.
Fine. Rendezvous with my squad at the centaur camp over the hill. You take out the herd, and we'll see. No promises, though, Hero. My duty here comes first.
Talk end option tango.png
I'll do it. Don't worry, Captain. I'll be back soon.
Talk end option tango.png
I need to think about that. I'll be back later.

Talking to Tervelan again:

Captain Tervelan: Get to the centaur camp. My soldiers are waiting for you.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm on my way.

Meeting Bigsby at the camp:

Sergeant Bigsby: You're my backup? Has the captain lost his mind? I expected an entire squad!

Talking to Bigsby:

Sergeant Bigsby: Stinking centaurs. Can't ever kill enough of them.
Sergeant Bigsby: Where are the others? Captain Tervelan said he was sending a unit to help me with the assault on the centaur camp.
Talk quest option tango.png
That's what he told me, too.
I'm not sure two of us can do this by ourselves. Maybe we should go back to the monastery?
Talk quest option tango.png
I have to do this. I need information about my sister, and he's got it.
You're <Character name>? I should have recognized you! You look just like your sister. She was a damn good soldier. But you know that.
Talk quest option tango.png
You knew my sister?
Yeah. I was stationed here a few months before...well, you know. She helped me figure out how to be a good Seraph. That's why you're here, right? Because of the rumors?
Talk quest option tango.png
Rumors? What rumors?
Nobody ever knew how the centaurs found out the Falcons' patrol route. There've always been questions about why the company was sent out alone. Nothing official, though. Just beer talk.
Talk quest option tango.png
If I clean out these centaurs, maybe Captain Tervelan will tell me what really happened.
If this is for Debs, then I'd be a might poor friend to leave you here alone. I guess I'm in it too. May Dwayna protect us!
Talk end option tango.png
We can do it.
Talk more option tango.png
That's why I have to do this. (Same as "If I clean out these centaurs, maybe Captain Tervelan will tell me what really happened.")
Talk more option tango.png
No. I have to do this. (Same as "If I clean out these centaurs, maybe Captain Tervelan will tell me what really happened.")

Entering the camp:

Sergeant Bigsby: We have our orders. Smash the weapon racks, lure the centaurs in, and wipe 'em out.

As more centaurs charge into camp:

Sergeant Bigsby: Reinforcements inbound! C'mon, you motherless ponies!
Tamini Warrior: Run them down! Trample them! Crush them like the weaklings they are!
Sergeant Bigsby: There's more! We'll kill you all, you sway-backed nags!
Mallus the Impure: You dare challenge the Tamini? I shall grind your bones to dust!
Sergeant Bigsby: Don't let up! There's more of them coming!
Sergeant Bigsby: You might find prisoners' belongings inside that cage near the tent. Check it out. I'll cover you.

Cinematic with Bigsby:

Sergeant Bigsby: The only reason I followed you in there was because you're you. I didn't even think we'd survive, but you were great! Hey, what did you find?
<Character name>: A soldier's journal, half-buried in the cage. It has the Falcon Company insignia on it and a list of survivors inside. My sister's name is there. Deborah.
Sergeant Bigsby: I thought Captain Tervelan said there were no survivors.
<Character name>: Tervelan may be lying to cover his tracks. The book accuses him of setting the company up to be attacked by centaurs.
Sergeant Bigsby: I... I don't know what to think. Tervelan, a traitor? You don't think he sent us out here alone to die, do you? He hasn't been happy with me lately.
<Character name>: It's a distinct possibility. But don't worry, Bigsby. We'll get to the bottom of this—together.

Talking to Bigsby:

Sergeant Bigsby: That was awful! They've been keeping prisoners? By all the gods, these animals will pay!
Talk quest option tango.png
The centaurs will get theirs in time. Right now, I need to have a little talk with Captain Tervelan.
He won't be back at the monastery. He rode east, to sort out a cave of ettins. He said he wanted to clean it out before it became a problem.
Talk quest option tango.png
He didn't mention any ettins to me. That's funny. The man's sounding shadier and shadier.
Wait. What are you going to do? You have to think this through.
Dignity
I'll do whatever it takes to find my sister.
The way I see it, you have two options: tell your friend, Captain Thackeray, what we suspect-but then Tervelan might get away. Or we could confront Tervelan directly. Without backup.
Talk quest choice tango.png
I have to tell Captain Thackeray what's going on out here.
Ok. I'll be waiting when you get back
Talk quest choice tango.png
I'm going to find Tervelan and get his side of the story.
I'll trust your instincts on that. If you don't mind, I'll send a priority message to Captain Thackeray before we go.
Talk quest option tango.png
Good idea. You do that; I'll find Tervelan.
Ferocity
We're being toyed with. I'll find out what happened to my sister, no matter what I have to do.
All right! You've got two options. Go tell Captain Thackeray what's happening and get his help. Terveland is powerful. Or we could confront Tervelan directly.
Talk quest choice tango.png
I have to tell Captain Thackeray what's going on out here.
Talk quest choice tango.png
I'm going to find Tervelan and get his side of the story.
Talk quest option tango.png
Deborah may be out there, waiting for me to find her. I can't stop looking now.
The way I see it, you have two options. Maybe you should tell Captain Thackeray what's happening. He can help. Or I suppose we could confront Tervelan directly.
Talk quest choice tango.png
I have to tell Captain Thackeray what's going on out here. (Continues to Seek Logan's Aid)
Talk quest choice tango.png
I'm going to find Tervelan and get his side of the story.
Talk end option tango.png
I'll get back to you.
Talk end option tango.png
Hold on, I have to think about this.

Talking to Bigsby again:

Sergeant Bigsby: Deborah was a good soldier. I guess it runs in your family. I really hope she's still alive out there.
Talk more option tango.png
What's with these centaurs, anyway? Why would they take prisoners?
They ransom them back as hostages. Sometimes, though, they sell 'em as slaves to bandits, pirates, and the like.
Talk more option tango.png
Slaves? That's awful!
Yeah. We occasionally hear of some being rescued, but not enough to raise our hopes. Still, I'll say a prayer to Balthazar for the Screaming Falcons.
Talk end option tango.png
We'll do more than pray, Bigsby. We'll find them. Count on it.
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks, Bigsby. You're a good soldier. My sister taught you well.

My story[edit]

The Fall of Falcon Company.jpg

Captain Thackeray asked me to investigate the veracity of Willem Harrinton's journal. He was a member of my sister's Seraph company, the Screaming Falcons. The journal casts doubt on the report of their deaths.

Captain Tervelan has a pessimistic view of my investigation. He insists that all members of the Falcon Company are long dead. I offered to help his soldiers attack a nearby centaur camp, just so I can have a look around it.
