Description[edit]

Tendril Torchers is an adventure in Snarled Frontier in which the player is given a flamethrower and must burn as many tendrils as possible within the time limit.

Run south from Waypoint (tango icon).png Shipwreck Peak Waypoint through Dry Step Mesas, and head south-east into Snarled Frontier.

Mechanics[edit]

The adventure takes place around, and inside a crashed Pact airship. Players need to use either Flame Jet or Napalm Shot to burn off tendrils found throughout the adventure area. Additionally, the ground is littered with Unexploded Shots that explode when hit by the above skills, causing an explosion that will Launch.png Launch characters. The adventure ends if either the timer is up or when 110 tendrils are destroyed.

The Flame Jet has a set 2.5-second cast animation that soft-locks the use of Napalm Shot. Players can cancel the animation by using the Stow Weapon hotkey (no default keybind) to save time if needed. The tendrils will burn when touched with the flame, you can redirect your flame thrower to a 2nd tendril while the 1st finished burning. You want to strafe or line them up with a single burst.

Walkthrough[edit]

When the adventure begins, immediately run up the hill at the left of the airship and jump onto the ledge to the left of the vine. Jump once more to get on the plateau and you'll see a field of tendrils. Clear them, then run to the edge of the cliff on the other side of the vine and look down. You'll see a steel beam sticking out from the airship. Jump down to the beam, then down to the ground. Clear the tendrils all the way down the hill; the path will curve to the right. There is a vine on the left near the end of the path; be sure to clear the tendrils on it. At the bottom of the hill, jump on the bouncing mushroom on the right-hand side and you'll land back at the start of the adventure. Run into the airship and clear the remaining tendrils.
