Rox

If I kill Scarlet, I'm in the warband. Definitely.

— Rox

Rox Pickheart is a gladium, becoming one when her entire warband (and her pet devourer, Skewer) were killed in a cave-in. In early 1326 AE, she began trials to join Rytlock Brimstone's Stone warband, and her first assignment was to retake the North Nolan Hatchery from the Molten Alliance. There she rescued a baby albino devourer, Frostbite, who became her new animal companion. She later accompanied Braham Eirsson and the Vigil on several raids into the Alliance's Molten Facilities.

Rox was part of the official delegation from the Black Citadel during the Queen's Jubilee, and came to the defense of Divinity's Reach when it was attacked by Scarlet Briar. Later, she was given an assignment to track and kill Tequatl the Sunless. She traveled to the Tower of Nightmares with Braham, where she met Kasmeer Meade and Marjory Delaqua for the first time. Her most recent assignment was to track and kill Scarlet Briar - if she could do this, she would be granted automatic membership of the warband. However, she passed up her opportunity to do so, instead tending to an injured Braham.

"I bet you're wondering why Frostbite and I are hiding out in a human bar in a human city."

Not really. I'm here too.
"Well, since you asked. Frostbite is afraid to report to Rytlock. Since we didn't actually help kill Scarlet, exactly. I've been ignoring his summons."

Why are you afaid? Surely he'll understand.
"It's a charr thing. Technically, he could gut me for disobeying an order."

What? You mean court-martial, right?
"No. I mean it's within his rights to kll me on the spot for disobeying his direct order. And besides, I'm going to have to tell him I don't want to be in his warband. I'm doomed."

You need to face him eventually.

Hang in there, Frostbite.

I know why you're here. Because we're here.
