If this is placed below a character who was friendly and becomes an enemy, it will not automatically trigger.
  • This skill causes 132 Defiance bar damage.
  • Mines are proximity-triggered, but the engineer may also Detonate them remotely.
  • On land, Throw Mine is a ground-targeted skill. Underwater, Throw Mine is a normal use skill, with the mine deploying directly on the player.
  • Mines last for 60 seconds, and then disappear.
  • If this skill is used outside of combat and then replaced by another utility skill, the mine will remain in place.

February 25, 2020 Competitive content update:
  • (Competitive split) Reduced power coefficient from 2.0 to 0.01. Increased boons removed from 1 to 3.

  • The damage of this skill is no longer split between game modes and will now use the higher 11% damage increase in all modes.

  • Increased the damage by 11% in PvP and WvW.
August 08, 2017 Path of Fire pre-patch:
  • Added a missing skill fact for the number of boons removed.
  • Increased damage by 20%.

  • The recharge of this skill has been reduced from 18 seconds to 15 seconds.
  • The damage has been increased by 20%.

  • The proximity trigger for this skill has been increased from 60 to 120.
  • Additionally, the explosion radius has been increased from 180 to 240.

  • Added a vulnerability skill fact when the player has the Steel-Packed Powder trait.
