Walkthrough[edit]

Head to Waypoint (map icon).png Sanguine Crater Waypoint and enter the instance near the Point of interest (map icon).png Path to Balrior.

Ascend Mount Balrior to challenge the titans.

Move up a bit and wait for the allies to arrive and speak with them. Defeat first the titanspawn ambush on the road and then the ones remaining in the ruins (they will take a few seconds of dialogue to become active). Interact with all 4 Build Sites inside of the Point of interest (map icon).png Base Camp to establish a base.

Continue east and use a Warclaw's Sniff to find 4 Scent Trails throughout the small area, then defeat the Elite Blighted Beast that appears in the center. Head south a bit and then east along the mountain trail to get to the first boss (keep in mind that touching the start of the trail is mandatory, as getting there by going over the mountain will keep Greer inactive and untouchable until that has been done).

Defeat Greer, the Blightbringer.

Arriving at Point of interest (map icon).png Greer's Lab after using the trail will lead to a fight with Greer. His attacks hit under and in front of him, and inflict conditions, so circling to his back and bringing some condition removal skills will help in the fight.

After bringing him to 1% health he will speak a short dialogue and then finally die. Use the newly created portal to get to Dagda and Decima.

The portal can't be used until all the titanspawn in Greer's arena have been killed.
Restarting the story at the checkpoint before Greer will softlock the instance, since the titanspawn that need to be killed to use the portal simply don't appear. The only workaround is to quit the current chapter in the story journal, start another one (to reset progress in chapter 13), and then start chapter 13 fresh.
Defeat Decima, the Stormsinger.

Speak to Dagda after arriving through the portal and then head to Point of interest (map icon).png Decima's Stormfield to fight. Decima's regular attacks are pretty but she will create a damaging field under her and her Craghammer (signified by a large aoe circle with electric patterns) will instantly down anyone hit, making quick movement or a Shadowstep good to more easily keep out. She also briefly becomes invulnerable upon reaching 1% health.

Destroy the Unstable Wall in the arena's northwest corner with a Warclaw's Chain Pull skill (backing away after latching on to pull) and head up to Sniff out 3 Scent Trails on it. Defeat the Elite Ventshot that appears in the center of the small area. Since it moves around a lot and inflicts heavy burning, Crowd Control and Condition Removal skills help greatly.

Head up to Waiting Sorrow and follow her into one last titanspawn ambush. Pull down another wall with a Warclaw.

Defeat the titan imperatrix.

After entering Point of interest (map icon).png Ura's Throne, first destroy the bloodstone shard at the eastern edge (and hide in Waiting Sorrow's bubble to avoid the explosion) to draw in Ura. Pick up the shards from the exploded bloodstone shard to plug the 3 geysers along the arena edge to make Ura vulnerable to damage. When she reaches 70% mount up on the Warclaw and use Chain Pull on her, then run through the small gates created near the magical trees to make her vulnerable again. Bringing her down to 30% makes her invulnerable again, which can be fixed by once again plugging the geysers with bloodstone shards.

For the battle itself, Ura will deal decent damage and occasionally inflict burning but the main dangers are her jumps (which inflict damage both while she is jumping and landing), where the direction is shown by an arrow from her, and the Eruption Vent she places on a player (along with a timer) and that they then drop on the ground. This attack is jumpable, and inflicts heavy damage and burning.

Bringing her to 1% will lead her to utter an ominous warning and then collapse. Checking her body to confirm her death ends the instance.

Regroup with your allies at Harvest Den.

Speak to Poised Arrow and then the duo at the door of the Point of interest (map icon).png Bonfire Lodge. Go to the other side of the lodge and then wait out the dialogues, occasionally speaking to an NPC.

After this the mission is done so you can either leave or speak to the marked characters for some optional stuff.

  • Complete the story mission.
Standing Tall: Greer Godspawn 1Achievement points
Defeat Greer without being downed.Journal: Balrior Peak Defeated Greer without Being Downed 1Achievement points
  • Achievement qualification may be tracked via the Achievement effect.png Achievement Eligibility: Standing Tall: Greer effect.
  • Most of Greer's attack hit in front of or under him, so trying to stay behind him makes it easier.
  • Greer can corrupt boons on hit and inflicts conditions, so it's good to bring condition removal.
  • He applies long-lasting Resolution to himself so Condition-based builds should bring some way to remove or corrupt boons.
  • Only given after the death-dialogue that happens when Greer reaches 1%.
Standing Tall: Decima Godspawn 1Achievement points
Defeat Decima without being downed.Journal: Balrior Peak Defated Decima without Being Downed 1Achievement points
  • Achievement qualification may be tracked via the Achievement effect.png Achievement Eligibility: Standing Tall: Decima effect.
  • Decima will almost always have a strong damage field underneath her, so make sure to avoid standing there.
  • Keep an eye out for the circle marked with lightning bolts at its edge, as it signals her Craghammer attack which will instantly down anyone hit.
  • Only given after the death-dialogue that happens when Decima reaches 1%.
Standing Tall: Ura Godspawn 1Achievement points
Defeat Ura without being downed.Journal: Balrior Peak Defeated Ura without Being Downed 1Achievement points
  • Achievement qualification may be tracked via the Achievement effect.png Achievement Eligibility: Standing Tall: Ura effect.
  • The primary dangers is the leap attack, signified by an arrow in the direction Ura will jump, and the eruption vent, an expanding but jumpable aoe attack that follows the player for a bit and then hits after a timer expires above the player character's head.
    • The jump attack also damages during the jump itself, so it's best to get out of the way early.
    • Eruption Vent is first attached to the targeted player, before being dropped after the timer clock is halfway done. Make sure to move away after it's dropped so that you have more time to jump. On a hit it inflicts burning and can instantly knock the player of the Warclaw if mounted.
  • Since she is stunned at first during damage phases and still active when invulnerable it's good to get those intermissions done as quickly as possible.
  • Only given after the death-dialogue that happens when Ura reaches 1%.

Mount Balrior[edit]

At the foot of Mount Balrior
Caithe: Good. We're all here. Bad news first.
Caithe: A nasty storm is coming. It's blocking the reinforcements from crossing the bay, even with the lowlanders guiding them.
<Character name>: If that storm is headed our way, then we probably need to get moving.
Malice Swordshadow: Scouted ahead. There are some ruins just up the mountain. Might be a good foothold before we push on the titans...
<Character name>: Anything else?
Malice Swordshadow: That's as far as I felt comfortable going alone. Spawn everywhere—from all three of them.
<Character name>: Then we push to camp and take it from there. We just don't have a lot of time. Every move needs to be deliberate.
Barbed Vale: Wait!
Stoic Alder: Vale? What are you doing here?
Barbed Vale: I'm not letting our Claw climb Mount Balrior without his Spear Master.
Stoic Alder: Ah. A good warrior and even better friend. May the wind carry us.
Barbed Vale: My spear is yours, Alder.
<Character name>: Ready, everyone?
Caithe: No time like the present.
Stoic Alder: Let us end this.
Ambush
Malice Swordshadow: Eyes on the titanspawn.
Ambush defeated
Poised Arrow: They're gone! All clear.
Arrival at Base Camp
Malice Swordshadow: There, look.
Stoic Alder: And filled with the stranger's spawn.
Malice Swordshadow: C'mon, let's make quick work of this.
Base Camp secured
Malice Swordshadow: Secured.
Caithe: Clear sky. The Mists energies shouldn't be too severe... We'll have the upper hand.
Malice Swordshadow: And no bloodstone in sight. Also good.
<Character name>: Time is our main enemy, then, especially if a storm's rolling in.
<Character name>: Dagda, any idea where they are?
Dagda: Hm.
Dagda: Close, but their energies are...seperate? They're on opposite sides of the peak.
<Character name>: Maybe they're expecting us... Probably a trap.
Waiting Sorrow: Regardless, they'll learn of our presence quickly. And if they can sense when their spawn are killed... They're already preparing.
Poised Arrow: It's a...little wild, but I have an idea. If they split up now, so should we. We know Greer's and Decima's song and dance.
Poised Arrow: We all start picking them off...while Sorrow and Dagda keep the others busy.
<Character name>: I like that. Work our way around the mountain; keep them separated, kill them separated.
Dagda: If the air tells me truth, Greer is to the east. Decima to the west. Ura...harder to say, but north.
Waiting Sorrow: Okay. You all head to Greer—like Poky said, we know his ways. Dagda, you hold Decima in place.
Dagda: Mm. When Greer is dead, be ready to move. I'll send a portal that'll bring you all straight to me and Decima.
Base Camp etablished
<Character name>: Ready to go?
Malice Swordshadow: Let's move out.
Dagda: Good luck.
Headed towards Greer
<Character name>: How's everyone feeling about this?`
Caithe: A pinch nervous... But this is necessary.
Stoic Alder: I look ahead for days without strife, hoping they near.
Elite Blighted Beast
Malice Swordshadow: Argh, they never relent.
Caithe: That's a big one. Together, now.
Elite Blighted Beast dead
Stoic Alder: Done.
<Character name>: One less to worry about. Let's keep moving.`
Approaching Greer
Caithe: There. Just ahead.
Poised Arrow: (breathes deeply) Let's go.
Greer, the Blightbringer: You come once more to court death?
<Character name>: No more hiding, Greer.`
Greer, the Blightbringer: Bravery. A trait of the ignorant.
Fighting Greer
Greer, the Blightbringer: You could worship us, Malice Swordshadow. Let us guide you.
Malice Swordshadow: This is gonna be cathartic.
Greer, the Blightbringer: Nescience will speed your decay!
Malice Swordshadow: The false god fears death? Funny.
Greer, the Blightbringer: (groans)
Malice Swordshadow: Just a story to scare cubs. That's all your kind is worth.
Greer death
Greer, the Blightbringer: Ura, Decima... Return to...the foundry...
Caithe: (breathes heavily)
<Character name>: Are we okay? Everyone alive?
Poised Arrow: Alive.... Yeah.
<Character name>: Right on time. Come on.
Catching up to Dagda
Dagda: Quiet, she's just ahead. I'm certain she can smell me.
<Character name>: Think she's waiting for us to make the first move?
Dagda: Might be. Let's make her regret that..
Approaching Decima
Decima, the Stormsinger: The ants return for a crumb of bread, not knowing what...
Decima, the Stormsinger: I...can smell him on you.
Fighting Decima
Decima, the Stormsinger: You...
Decima, the Stormsinger: (shouts)
Caithe: Watch for her lightning. We know how vicious she can be.
Poised Arrow: Leave these lands!
Decima, the Stormsinger: (snarls)
Decima, the Stormsinger: You are next to enter the flame.
Poised Arrow: You are next. We already killed the rotbringer.
Decima, the Stormsinger: Gnawing pests!
Poised Arrow: For Maw.
<Character name>: Crumble, Decima.
Decima Death
Decima, the Stormsinger: Greer, I'll meet you in the...the fire...
Poised Arrow: (shouts)
Poised Arrow: (wheezes)
<Character name>: Heh... Easy, cub.
Stoic Alder: My son.
Check on the group
Malice Swordshadow: (groans) Gonna feel that one for a bit...
Caithe: Dagda, Commander—I think you two should go ahead. I don't think the rest of us can push much farther.
Dagda: Probably wise. Wayfinder, how is your strength? Are you okay to face Ura?
<Character name>: Let's go.
Barbed Vale: I will remain here and protect them while you march.
Dagda: I can sense Sorrow and Ura ahead. Come on.
Scent Trails sniffed
<Character name>: No titanspawn...
Dagda: Sorrow probably cleared the way. I hope.
Found Sorrow
Dagda: Sorrow. Where is Ura?
Waiting Sorrow: Ahead, I think. She's managed to elude me thus far. Keeps sending spawn to block my path.
Entered Ura's Domain
<Character name>: Where could she...
Dagda: Look. Is that a piece of bloodstone?
Destroyed Bloodstone
Dagda: The bloodstone is about to surge! Come to me!
Ura: You killed the godspawn?
Waiting Sorrow: Emerge, beast.
Ura: I will drag your souls to the foundry to build my kin anew!
Fighting Ura
Ura: I will make you beg for death.
Waiting Sorrow: You're no god. You are not even of the gods. I see a stain.
Ura: Our spawn murmur visions of your village. Perhaps I'll visit them next.
Waiting Sorrow: (snarls)
Ura: (snarls)
Ura: Spilling godspawn blood will doom your fate!
If asura:
<Character name>: Doom my fate? Sure.
If charr:
<Character name>: Doom my fate? (snorts)
If human:
<Character name>: Doom my fate? Okay.
If norn:
<Character name>: ???
If sylvari:
<Character name>: Doom my fate? Amusing. (laughs)
Waiting Sorrow: You will never threaten my people again.
Ura: (groans)
Ura Death
Ura: Heh... Ah. (winces) The thread unravels.
Ura: I sense celebration on your breath. Stifle it.
Ura: For the door we came through sits wide open...
Regroup with your allies
Dagda: "The door we came through sits wide open"? What does that mean?
<Character name>: I knew there had to be a catch.
Waiting Sorrow: We'll figure that out. But for now...she is dead. All three of them are.
Waiting Sorrow: I'll collect the others and returm them to the village. Their wounds need tending.
<Character name>: I'll meet you there. I want to linger behind for a moment
Inspect Ura
<Character name>: (breathes deeply)
<Character name>: What did you want from us? From Tyria?

Harvest Den[edit]

Greeting Poky
Poised Arrow: Wayfinder, welcome to the Night of Quiet Breath.
Poised Arrow: Feast before the battle, take a nap after!
<Character Name>: Ah, my kind of party.
Poised Arrow: C'mon, everyone's resting.
Checking in on Caithe and Malice
Malice Swordshadow: That was one heck of a fight. Glad it's done.
Caithe: Exhilarating, though. Not quite the same as fighting an Elder Dragon, but a battle worhty of some fable.
Poised Arrow: Thank you both for...all of this. Excellent backup, you were.
Caithe: Oh yes, that was all you, cub.
Poised Arrow: You're very welcome.
Malice Swordshadow: Anytime, kid.
Poised Arrow: Heh. Paw's inside with Sorrow and the blue guy. Might want to make our way in before...
Caithe: Oh, no. Malice and I will wait out here and keep guard.
Malice Swordshadow: Mhm.
If asura:
<Character Name>: How benevolent. Let's go, Poky, in case they need some adult supervision.
If charr:
<Character Name>: Cute. Come on, Poky, better get in there before another battle kicks up.
If human:
<Character Name>: Leaving all the hard work for us? (shrugs) Fine. Come on, kid.
If norn:
<Character Name>: ???
If sylvari:
<Character Name>: How caring you are. Come on, Poky, better get in there before they start hitting each other.
Poised Arrow: After this, I'm starting torpor early.
Meet with the others
Isgarren: Wayfinder, never has your arrival been so gladly received.
Stoic Alder: Hrm.
Isgarren: Thank you for allowing us in your home, Claw of the lowland kodan.
Stoic Alder: The threat has passed. Now we must heal.
Isgarren: I agree. And on the topic of healing... Waiting Sorrow has more to tell you.
Stoic Alder: More?
<Character Name>: Ah...
Poised Arrow: Hey now, my cerulean guest, we already know she's a "wizard" or...whatever you want to call all of that.
Listen to Waiting Sorrow's tale.
Waiting Sorrow: Little claw. There is...more to say.
Waiting Sorrow: (breathes deeply) There's a version of this story that would take me years to explain, but I...I owe this to you both.
Waiting Sorrow: Thousands of years ago, long before Orr's prime, I... I was born of whispers.
Waiting Sorrow: Visions and images. I was destined to become a Voice of Koda. The youngest the kodan of that era had seen.
Waiting Sorrow: My Claw... He was kind. Fierce. He sat with me many a night as I acclimaed to my role. We bonded.
Waiting Sorrow: But the dragonstorm raged outside our dens. And as the storm picked up... Koda's voice turned angry. My reality changed.
Waiting Sorrow: I started losing myself. I couldn't trust the visions; they lied to me. I'm not certain it was Koda that I heard.
Waiting Sorrow: I hated having a destiny, and I felt like a threat. So I left.
Stoic Alder: I know this story.
Isgarren: Sorrow came to me, and I helped her sever her tie to the Mists. Koda's voice no longer burdened her.
Poised Arrow: You are the missing Voice of our ancestors?
Waiting Sorrow: I am. And I have regretted leaving my people every day since. That's why I came here.
Stoic Alder: My people are not a balm for your wounds.
Waiting Sorrow: That's never how I meant it to be.
Waiting Sorrow: I am sorry, Alder.
Stoic Alder: Air is what I need.
Check on Poky.
Waiting Sorrow: Ah...
Poised Arrow: I'll go to him. Has a habit of retreating into himself, he does.
Poised Arrow: Sorrow. You are not the monster you fear.
Speak to Isgarren
Isgarren: They needed to know. You did what was necessary.
Waiting Sorrow: And now they do.
Isgarren: Wayfinder, back at the Wizard's Tower when you first returned Sorrow home... You may have noticed an air of tension.
Isgarren: And...the mention of Mabon.
<Character Name>: Right. I was wondering about that...
Waiting Sorrow: It seems that our friend kept a few secrets under lock and key.
Isgarren: Two hundred years ago, Mabon went to Bava Nisos right after the titans licked it clean... After the mursaat had been killed.
Isgarren: Mabon told me he went to hide a Mists gate that they kept in the gut of the city... He placed a ward over the isle.
Isgarren: But when he died, that ward fell. All of Bava Nisos, once again exposed to the world.
Waiting Sorrow: I was with the lowlanders when it happened. Even they felt their fur stand up.
<Character Name>: Ura mentioned a door being open. Do you think...
Isgarren: I believe they came from the very gate that Mabon sought to hide. But even I don't know how it opened again.
<Character Name>: If it's still open, then we need to find it and do whatever we can to shut it.
Waiting Sorrow: I agree, Wayfinder. Before any more titans are forged.
Isgarren: Bava Nisos is the worst of Janthir. Maybe one of the worst waypoints in Tyria's history...
Isgarren: The situation must be contained.
<Character Name>: I guess we're headed to Bava Nisos, then.
Isgarren: I will inform the alliance.

A Moment of Quiet[edit]

Speak to Isgarren
Isgarren: For a fleeting interaction between Mabon and I to become the focus of my thoughts... And one that happened two centuries past.
Isgarren: I don't want to think of him as a liar. Or ignorant.
<Character Name>: Did he lie?
Isgarren: I don't know, but he certainly kept truths to himself. I was kept in shadow.
<Character Name>: We'll find out what happened.
Speak to Waiting Sorrow
Waiting Sorrow: (sighs deeply)
<Character Name>: I know that was hard, but it's good that they know.
Waiting Sorrow: I mourn, but I can't deny the lightness. A shackle, released.
Waiting Sorrow: I try not to regret my decisions, Wayfinder. There was no world where I remained with the bearkin all those years ago.
Waiting Sorrow: My visions were violent and indistinguishable from truth. I would have hurt someone. Perhaps many.
Waiting Sorrow: And he would have never led them southward. The bearkin of the lowland would not have thrived as they do now.
Waiting Sorrow: (sighs) Thank you for the shoulder, Wayfinder, but I would like to be left to my thoughts for a while.
Speak to Poised Arrow
Poised Arrow: (sighs)
<Character Name>: You okay, Poky?
Poised Arrow: I... You know? I'm just fine. Is that okay? I feel like my core should be shaking...
Poised Arrow: But if I'm being earnest with you, Wayfinder, I'm fine. Really. I've got a lot of questions, but fearful I am not.
Poised Arrow: My own world is just very small all of a sudden—and in the best way! There's so much more world to see.
Poised Arrow: I want to see Sorrow's world. Your world. I want to hear stories. I want to know more about magic. I want to see Tyria.
Poised Arrow: I just...need to make sure Paw's okay, you know? I was born when the world started changing. He's always lived in the wilds.
Speak to Stoic Alder
Stoic Alder: I've heard that tale from ashmakers my entire life...
<Character Name>: I'm sorry. I never meant to deceive you. I'm put into a lot of situations like that...
Stoic Alder: Blame you, I cannot. You are just another leaf, caught in the runoff.
Stoic Alder: However, I don't think I can join your alliance. Not right now.
Stoic Alder: It's not for fear of you. Your alliance has been generous—most of the Astral Ward, as well.
Stoic Alder: Our world expanded with such velocity... (sighs deeply) I fear what may happen if the tides spill past the shore.
<Character Name>: I understand. And regardless of your place in the alliance, that won't stop us from helping you or the bearkin.
Stoic Alder: You are a considerate diplomat. Despite my rumblings, there are worse examples for my son to follow."
Speak to Caithe
<Character Name>: Are you headed back to the Grove, then?
Caithe: As much as I'd like to stay here with the bearkin... Yes, I should. I need to be with Mother.
Caithe: Mind you, I certainly don't regret coming. The bearkin are safer now and that brings me joy. I'm sad to leave.
Caithe: But if Mother were to worsen... Well, this is not where I'm most needed.
<Character Name>: Hopefully her cure is just over the horizon.
Caithe: I hope so. Time will tell.
Speak to Malice Swordshadow
<Character Name>: I bet you're eager to get back to the office.
Malice Swordshadow: Ha! You know it.
Malice Swordshadow: We accomplished a lot here. I also shook off some dust that desperately needed shaking.
Malice Swordshadow: Been an imperator for a while, but after Bangar... Gotta admit, I was rattled. Needed to find my own wilderness again.
Malice Swordshadow: This was good for that. I got back out into the field. Got my paws nice and muddy.
Malice Swordshadow: Didn't see the whole titan thing coming. Almost a little poetic, yeah?
<Character Name>: Did you find your wilderness, then?
Malice Swordshadow: The best thing about finding one's wilderness is that you're not really supposed to. Instead, you find comfort in not knowing.
Malice Swordshadow: I don't want to be Khan-Ur—too much wilderness. I'm ready to return to Ash, but I need to be in the field too.

My Story[edit]

Mount Balrior loading screen.png

Bright and early, I met our allies at the base of Mount Balrior. Malice had already scouted ahead, putting eyes on a small pocket of ruins that would make for a fitting foothold before pushing on the titans. Before starting our ascent, Caithe informed the group that reinforcements wouldn't reach us in time due to weather conditions being more pressing than we'd anticipated. The Mists Tides approached. With that, our window of opportunity to locate and defeat the titans drastically narrowed.

Just before setting out, Barbed Vale caught up with us. Unwilling to let the Claw of her village fight the titans without her help, she insisted on lending her combat prowess to our front line. And so we began our climb.

Making our way up the mountain, we fought back ambushes of titanspawn and established camp in the ruins to catch our breath between battles. During our respite, Dagda informed us of another complication: she sensed that the titans had split up and each taken a stand in a different area of the mountain. Thinking on his feet, Poised Arrow proposed we do the same to divide and conquer our foes. We all agreed: the kid's plan was good. Dagda and Waiting Sorrow scouted ahead to keep eyes on Decima and Ura. Meanwhile, the rest of the group made our way to Greer.

Our journeykin homed in on Greer's scent, directing us toward his den through the treacherous mountain pass.

We cornered Greer in his den, still weakened from our prior encounter. With the Mists Tides temporarily subsided, he was unable to fully heal before our arrival. Tired and separated from his own, Greer lunged forward, and the fight began.

Malice smirked at the beast, who desperately attempted to convince our charr companion to follow her ancestors and switch allegiance. But she only scoffed, throwing all of her rage into the assault. Another titan would never manipulate the charr or harm the kodan, if she could help it. The Blightbringer was finally defeated.

With barely any time to catch our breath, Dagda's portal appeared before us. It's time to take the battle to Decima.

After stepping through the portal, we caught up with Dagda. She was positioned just outside of another large clearing atop the mountain. Decima was just ahead.

Together, we entered, and Decima's enraged voice boomed across the mountain. Her brother was dead, and the fight ahead did not look forgiving. While she was similarly weakened, her ferocious storms raged on. To my surprise, Poky's voice boomed against the titan's. He harnessed all of his contempt and misery for what the titans had inflicted on his people, and we all followed his charge. Decima, knowing that this was the end, called out that she'd meet her brother in the fire. The Stormsinger was felled.

Despite our victory and growing optimism, the group was severely fatigued; only Dagda and I were ready for another fight. Barbed Vale volunteered to watch over Stoic Alder and the others while we moved on toward Waiting Sorrow and Ura.

Just a little further to go before Janthir's blight is quelled. Dagda and I caught up with Waiting Sorrow near the apex of the mountain. Aside from a large piece of bloodstone, it stood suspiciously empty. Of course, we knew not to be fooled by the titan's theatrics. Even with Greer and Decima defeated, we'd yet to face Ura herself. I touched the bloodstone in an attempt to draw her attention, and sure enough, she roared into the arena. The titan imperatrix was finally revealed.

She was tall, with a rugged exterior shell far more robust and fortified than Greer or Decima's. Sulfurous fumes and toxic steam rippled from fractures in her armor, stinging our nostrils; even the wizards seemed small in her presence. But we didn't have long to observe. Ura smelled Greer and Decima's corpses on our garb, and this only enraged her. She attacked us with her entire might, filling the arena with explosive geysers that threatened to melt our flesh and bone.

I went to work on neutralizing active bloodstone shards with the Heart of the Obscure, and we were able to plug the geysers with the drained fragments. This allowed us just enough room to mount our journeykin to pull away at her armor.

After a few rounds of foiling Ura's attempts to conquer the arena, we had the beast cornered. With her kin defeated, our foe was closer and closer to defeat; and as her power dwindled, we moved in to land the final blow. Ura was done.

Just as victory settled in our minds, Ura muttered a few words that would shatter any sense of security: "For the door we came through sits wide open." She died bemused that some unknowable secret still sat in our path. What door could she possibly be talking about? Despite our success, the three of us stood there in silence. None of us quite knew how to absorb the ambiguity of Ura's final words.

While Waiting Sorrow and Dagda returned our tired allies to the village, I decided to remain atop Mount Balrior a few moments longer. I stood by Ura's body, contemplating the events that us led us here. Even with the three of them dead, I still have questions. Where did they come from? Why? And how does it all relate to the door Ura mentioned? Until I know these things, sleep will not come easy.

Back at Harvest Den, the atmosphere has been one of tired relief. Poised Arrow explained that after a successful battle, lowlanders celebrate their victory with a night of well-deserved rest. I, too, found the silence of Harvest Den a welcome solace. At least, while it lasted.

I regrouped with our allies, checking in on everyone's wellbeing. Caithe and Malice are headed home, glad to have helped but undeniably relieved to get back to their respective responsibilities. No matter the challenge, Tyria always persists.

Poky suggested that we head inside, where Stoic Alder, Waiting Sorrow, and Isgarren waited for our arrival in the tense, silent air. And then, Waiting Sorrow finally revealed the extent of her identity to the Claw and his son ... that she's not just a wizard, but the fabled Voice from the ancient kodan tale. Koda's voice raged in her mind-almost turned her mad-but Isgarren helped her sever that connection, and that's how she became a wizard.

Alder was understandably rattled by this new layer of deception. Poky, while shaken, was more curious than upset. Before leaving to comfort his father, he reassured Sorrow of his support for her. A mature gesture by any standard.

With the three of us finally alone, Isgarren—in an attempt to distract Sorrow from her guilt-redirected the conversation toward more pressing matters. Prior to our battle atop Mount Balrior, when Sorrow returned with me to the Wizard's Tower to reveal herself to Isgarren, the mention of Mabon turned both of them still. When he died in Amnytas, Sorrow "felt" Mabon's death all the way in Janthir.

Isgarren revealed that Mabon had secretly placed a ward over the city of Bava Nisos after the destruction of the mursaat. This was to protect a Mists gate hidden deep within the city. But when Mabon died, the ward in question fell. Isgarren suspects that this Mists gate is the very door that Ura referred to in her dying breath; even he has no idea how it was opened, or if it still is.

Finding and sealing this door is our only priority. We're headed to Bava Nisos before any more titans—or worse—emerge.
