The Astral Ward is a secret organization silently protecting the world of Tyria from various threats, with the most recent focus being the Kryptis.^[1] The mastery of the same name specializes in accessing recipes and upgrades for Rift Hunting to stop the Kryptis threat.

The Astral Ward was established in 604 AE by Isgarren, with Taryn as the first Warden, the Astral Ward's leader.^[2]

Members of the Astral Ward have dog tags with codes and the engraving of the symbol of the specific Bastion they are loyal to, with some members not being sworn to any.^[3]
