Overview

Mystic Clovers can be acquired through multiple methods:

• Mystic Forge — Forged directly using Mystic Coins, Globs of Ectoplasm, Obsidian Shards, and Spirit Shards (for Philosopher's Stone or Mystic Crystal).
  • Also available for 3  + 5  + 3  + 3  from Miyani/Mystic Forge Attendants (combined weekly limit of 10), and Lyhr/Ward Crafter Lucirae (unlimited).
• Reward tracks — Earned from PvP Reward Tracks, WvW Reward Tracks, and Skirmish reward track (through Mist-Warped Bundle).
• Vendors — Purchased weekly for 2 Mystic Coins, 2 Globs of Ectoplasm, and 2 Spirit Shards per Mystic Clover, plus an additional currency depending on the vendor:
  • Fractals of the Mists: 150  from BUY-4373 (limit 10 per week).
  • Raids: 30  from various raid vendors (limit 10 per week).
  • Strikes: 30  from the latest available Shard Collector (limit 5 per week).
  • PvP: Emblem of Tournament Victory or 5  from League Vendor (combined limit 5 per week).
  • WvW: 10  + 20  from Dugan (limit 5 per week; does not require Spirit Shard).
  • Lunar New Year: 10 Exotic Essence of Luck from New Year Rewards (limit 1 per week; does not require other items).
• Wizard's Vault — Purchased for 60  each (limit 20 per season).
• Unbound Magic — Very low chance from Magic-Warped Bundle.
• Achievements
  • Glory to the Legions — Similar to Reward Tracks, the Mystic Clover contained in the final chest of each achievement (reward tier 20).
  • Chest of Legendary Crafting Materials rewarded from five "Strike Back" achievements, containing a total of 35 Mystic Clovers (non-repeatable).

Note that vendors with identical costs share the weekly limit. An exception is Lyhr and Ward Crafter Lucirae, who do not have a weekly limit, and buying from them will not count against the weekly limits of Miyani and the Mystic Forge Attendants even though their costs are the same. Additionally, League Vendor's two offers have a combined limit despite using different currencies.

Probability notes

Both Mystic Forge recipes have technically identical costs. Drop rate research suggests that both recipes have around 30-32% of yielding clovers, and drop the same materials. Keep in mind though that the 1-clover recipe is more likely to produce average odds on the way to crafting any particular piece of legendary gear. (See the talk page for details and discussion.) This does not mean the 1-clover recipe will give you more clovers, just that you are more likely to end up with an amount close to what would statistically be expected due to lower variance.

Roughly speaking, the 10x recipe is faster and less tedious, while the 1x recipe is more reliable, when working on 70-80 clovers. Remember though that when using the 10x recipe, it is always statistically cheaper to produce amounts below 10 (e.g. from 70 to 77 clovers) with the 1x recipe.
