With pretty much every dragon ended, the commander finds themselves with a newfound wealth of time. The strongest force on Tyria has one last world to conquer now: the catwalk. A mysterious letter draws our hero into the high-stakes world of underground, winner-take-all fashion shows at the Crow's Nest in Lion's Arch—and they'll need all the help they can get to capture the hearts of this week's panel of celebrity judges!

After ten years of Guild Wars 2, we're finally in the endgame: the fashion game. Hit the wardrobe and dress for success in the latest chapter of the Guild Wars worlds' storied saga.

04/01/2023—April Fools 2023 (Part 2)[edit]

General[edit]

  • Completing Season Prophecies of the Living Story now rewards players with access to Older Lion's Arch, which can be accessed by launching the original Guild Wars client and traveling to Lion's Arch.
  • Fixed an issue that unintentionally reduced the quantity of Imperator's Cores in the Black Citadel and several other capital cities.
  • Fixed an issue that caused character deaths in the Super Adventure Box's Test Zone to kill the character in real life.
  • Fixed an issue in the asura personal story that caused some characters to be haunted by a lingering feeling that they forgot to take one of their final exams in their selected college.
  • To remove an overlap with player elite specializations, Fractal Vindicators have been renamed to Fractal Dragonhunters.

Personal Story[edit]

  • Using the /say chat command to respond to NPCs by interjecting your character's opinions, cracking jokes, or demanding to know where Balthazar is will now be considered canonical.
  • Only the instance owner's extra dialogue is currently tracked. We are planning to add tracking for group extra dialogue in a future update.
  • NPCs will not react to this added dialogue but will silently judge the commander for interrupting.

Items[edit]

  • Updated the categorization of food items in the crafting menu. To improve discoverability, all food items are now soups or sandwiches.
  • Minis will now summon their own mount when the player mounts up.
  • Increased the variety of jade battery classifications. Collecting charges now applies a different boon effect depending on the battery type, which will need to be matched to the supplied device's requirements.
  • To reduce inventory clutter, all looted items now drop as stackable Unidentified Items.

Profession Skills[edit]

General[edit]

  • Shouts can no longer be used inside libraries and other scholarly facilities.
  • Significantly increased the minimum casting time of meditations. Meditations can now be interrupted by shouts.

Elementalist[edit]

  • Jade spheres now require jade power charges (type JJ) to use.
  • A new Style Trends Attunement has been added to replace Earth Attunement, which was kind of dusty anyway.

Engineer[edit]

Guardian[edit]

  • Added the long-awaited Virtue of Temperance. Activating this profession mechanic allows guardians to determine whether they've been adventuring long enough today, and if it's time for a different activity.
  • Judge's Intervention now additionally grants a significant number of votes when activated during a fashion war event.

Mesmer[edit]

  • Bladesong virtuoso skills now require crafted daggers as a reagent.
  • If a skritt mesmer created clones of itself, it wouldn't get smarter. That's not how skritt, mesmers, or clones work. We just wanted you to know.
  • Mesmers can now access a series of extra tabs in the Hero panel to customize their phantasms' appearances for the duration of the summon.

Necromancer[edit]

  • Visibility of ghosts, spirits, and other spectral entities can now be adjusted in the Settings menu.
  • You can now put little hats on your summoned minions, but sometimes they drop them and it's so precious that you can't be mad.

Ranger[edit]

  • Soulbeasts can now meld with their equipped mini as well as their pet.
  • Decreased the fashion war judges' vote ratio for feline pets in PvP only.

Revenant[edit]

  • Attempting to revive a defeated player now instead unlocks a third legend slot, giving the revenant temporary access to the targeted player's utility skills.
  • Revenants can no longer channel the Legendary Pact Commander in PvP only.
  • Updated Inspiring Reinforcement's visual effects and icon to reflect the fact that this utility skill now creates a catwalk.

Thief[edit]

  • Steal now additionally steals the target's style by emulating their wardrobe selection and dye choices in PvP only.
  • Added a new thief specialization, the rouge, for training fashion war-based skills.

Warrior[edit]

  • Fixed an issue that unintentionally muffled the gunsaber's inner voice when it speaks directly into its bladesworn wielder's heart. This can now be adjusted using the Player Instrument Volume setting.
  • Increased effectiveness of bodybuilders' Side Chest stance by 10% in all gameplay modes.

Role-Player vs. Player[edit]

  • New RPvP maps for the season have been added, including Tense Treaty Negotiations, Formal Social Event, and Shady Back Alley to set a new stage for intercharacter conflicts!

World vs. World[edit]

  • World linking now occurs every Wednesday at noon in all time zones.
