Heart of Thorns mastery tracks

The following mastery tracks are unlocked by completing goals in the Heart of Thorns expansion. A total of 58,674,000 experience and 144 mastery points are required to unlock all of the Heart of Thorns masteries. All tracks require the Torn from the Sky story chapter to be completed before any additional unlock requirements.

Gliding[edit]

Gliding (the mastery track) is unlocked after completing the Torn from the Sky story chapter.

Updraft Use	1,016,000	2	Improved design to your glider handles and slits in the wings let you confidently fly into updrafts, allowing you to gain altitude and travel to previously unreachable locations.
Lean Techniques	1,778,000	3	Learn the gliding technique of leaning forward to increase your gliding speed and leaning back to brake midair at the cost of endurance. Your improved technique also increases your total endurance pool when gliding.
Stealth Gliding	2,540,000	5	Learn to glide silently and undetected through the air for short periods by dodging while gliding.
Advanced Gliding	3,302,000	8	Learn to glide with such efficiency that you no longer use endurance to stay up in the air, only to perform lean techniques.
Ley Line Gliding	4,318,000	12	Learn to enter ley-line energy flows while gliding to be moved along with the flow, gaining access to otherwise inaccessible places.

Itzel Lore[edit]

Itzel Lore is unlocked after completing the Torn from the Sky story chapter.

Itzel Language	1,016,000	2	Learn the difficult dialect of the Itzel, endearing yourself to the local Itzel and gaining access to vendors with exclusive wares.
Blazing Speed Mushrooms	1,778,000	3	With stomach training, learn to ingest the speed-increasing mushrooms found scattered in the Heart of Maguuma. Run at blazing speeds with the help of nature!
Itzel Poison Lore	2,540,000	5	Learn about Itzel poisons, and gain the ability to pass through poisonous Mordrem vines and withstand poison hazes that exist in Maguuma.
Itzel Leadership	3,302,000	8	Carefully study the Itzel fighting style and then challenge their enemy's champion to claim a valuable daily prize.
Adrenal Mushrooms	4,318,000	12	Learning to eat these mushrooms tweaks your adrenal glands, giving you a surge of adrenaline and instantly refreshing your skills.

Exalted Lore[edit]

Exalted Lore is unlocked after both completing Torn from the Sky and then entering Auric Basin through the entrance at Tarnished Treetop (specifically in this order).

Exalted Acceptance	1,016,000	2	Gain the trust of the strange and mysterious Exalted, giving you access to their services in the Forgotten City.
Exalted Assistance	1,778,000	3	Learn to use Exalted Recall devices found in the Maguuma Jungle to summon an Exalted warrior to fight for a short while.
Exalted Purification	2,540,000	5	Become honored among the Exalted by challenging their champion each day, and unlock their finest treasures within the Forgotten City
Exalted Gathering	3,302,000	8	Learn from the Exalted how to gather rare materials around the Maguuma Jungle. Learn to mine up Auric Slivers from ore nodes in Auric Basin.

Nuhoch Lore[edit]

Nuhoch Lore is unlocked after both completing Torn from the Sky and then entering Tangled Depths.

Nuhoch Wallows	1,016,000	2	Master the use of Nuhoch Wallows, learning to traverse these hidden passages to gain access to locations both far and hidden.
Nuhoch Language	1,778,000	3	Learn the Nuhoch's traditional language, and gain the ability to trade and converse with the more wary members of the group.
Nuhoch Stealth Detection	2,540,000	5	Learn to spot enemies that practice stealth techniques, rendering them visible to your trained eye.
Nuhoch Proving	3,302,000	8	Challenge the Nuhoch champion in combat to earn the Nuhoch's respect and unlock a powerful cache of rewards.
Nuhoch Alchemy	4,318,000	12	Train with the Nuhoch to learn to remove the chak's powerful acid. Without this ability, chak acid can obliterate foes.

Raids[edit]

Unlocked after completing any encounter of either Forsaken Thicket and Bastion of the Penitent raids.^[1] (This includes killing bosses or completing events, but Spirit Woods and Twisted Castle will not unlock the track.)

Explosive Launch	1,016,000	1	The dwarves may have invented black powder, but you can perfect its use. Learn to safely launch to great heights with an explosive blast, without singeing your socks.
Forsaken Thicket Waters	1,524,000	3	The waters in Forsaken Thicket are known to have cleansing properties that can cure various afflictions. Those who possess this Mastery can wash away their ailments and afflictions when the opportunity presents itself.
Forsaken Magic	3,048,000	3	Learn to harness the powerful energy permeating the Forsaken Thicket and gain advantages in battle.

Ancient Magics[edit]

Ancient Magics is unlocked after entering Bloodstone Fen during the story of Out of the Shadows, or after entering Ember Bay during the story of Rising Flames.

Counter Magic	508,000	1	Based on ancient asuran research done by the supergenius Zinn, Taimi has devised a way to counter certain powerful magic abilities. Learn this Mastery to gain access to the Counter Magic special action skill that allows you to turn your enemy's attacks back on themselves.
Thermal Propulsion	508,000	3	When the dwarves took on Primordus, they learned much about traveling through Tyria's heated core. Learn this Mastery to travel long distances as the dwarves did.
Koda's Flame	508,000	3	Grant's the ability to wield kodan fire magic based on a flame spirit that has been tamed since ancient times. Learning this Mastery will unlock the first skill while carrying Koda's Flame. Visit kodan flamebearers to learn additional skills.
Spectral Aid	508,000	3	Ancient magics still linger in the world of Tyria, and those especially attuned to them can sometimes call on them in times of great need. Learn this mastery to unlock an extra skill for use while downed.
Oakheart's Reach	508,000	7	Ancient druids had the power to manipulate nature. Learn this Mastery to gather Oakheart's essence, which allows you to grapple to new heights using magical vines.
Siren of Orr	508,000	7	Ancient chords of long-forgotten lamentations still echo in Orr. Those who have learned to listen for them are able to use dirges of power, making manifest abilities once lost to the pages of history.
