Notes

• The skill's boons apply only to the caster.
• The resistance boon briefly exempts the guardian from all nondamaging conditions giving them an opportunity to act.
  • Beware that, like any other boon, resistance can be removed or prevented.
• The meditation skill Contemplation of Purity can clear all pulled conditions.
• The Pure of Voice trait lowers the amount of conditions suffered, converting one condition on each ally to a boon. Any further conditions are pulled as normal.
• Pulled conditions will not apply to a caster who is invulnerable, such as from channeling Renewed Focus.

May 11, 2021	The Retaliation boon has been renamed Resolution. Increased the duration of resistance from 1.5 seconds to 3 seconds.
May 16, 2017	This skill now grants 1.5 seconds of resistance, in addition to the other boons applied.
April 19, 2016	The recharge time of this skill has been reduced from 60 seconds to 50 seconds.
September 29, 2015	Consolidated this skill between PvP and PvE to make the PvE version applicable for all areas.
October 22, 2012	This skill has now been split between PvP and PvE. In PvE, players will notice no difference. In PvP, this skill's boon duration has been changed to 5 seconds.
August 28, 2012	Game release: "Save Yourselves!" has been added to the game.

Trivia

• A Guild Wars skill bears the same name as this skill.
• This skill functions similarly to the Guild Wars elite skill, Martyr.
• In fact, during early beta tests it was a staff skill and used the fore mentioned name Martyr. It was later replaced by Empower and had its name and skill type changed.
• The soldier in the skill icon is wearing a Visionary's Helm.
