The Ruptured Heart

The Ruptured Heart is an area in The Desolation. Here, at the Mouth of Torment, marks the site of the final battle between Abaddon and the other gods, and is the location of the vortex to the Realm of Torment as well as the origin of the sulfurous haze, which radiates out into the rest of the Desolation. Balthazar has claimed the area as of recently, and it has become a Forged stronghold.
