Rewards[edit]
Walkthrough[edit]
Spark can be found at Dry Top Entry Waypoint — despite the map showing her location at the north edge of the map.
Once everyone has finished talking, Kasmeer will create a portal to the upper levels. Take it, and you will see a sort of force field before you. It will both repel you back and prevent Kasmeer's magic from getting through. Marjory will drop an aspect crystal at this point. Take it, and use it to sunburst through the field. On the other side is a device that is both powering the shield and blocking the magic. Destroy it, and Inquest Sapper Kloddi will spawn with two other Inquest members. Once they say their piece, kill them all and wait until Kasmeer drops a lightning aspect to jump the gap. Another portal blocker to destroy lies on the other side, and the two ladies will follow across via portal. Under the overhanging stone is a Zephyrite being assaulted by Inquest you'll need to dispatch in order to progress. After some more dialogue Marjory will drop a wind crystal to allow you to jump up the large cliff. At the top is a third Inquest device, this time protected by a field. Killing the two Inquest Assassins in the area, thus causing the field to go down, will allow the device to be smashed. Talk to Marjory to point out that all the merchants were murdered by a single knife, not the fall. After a bit more dialogue, there will be a portal up, and three points of interest around the cliff to investigate. Each one will give a clue as to what caused the crash.

Find and destroy the hidden Inquest survey equipment.Story Instance: Fallen Hopes- Reward: Geode Hoard

Found and Destroyed All Four Inquest Survey Devices

- To complete this achievement, you have to destroy four Inquest Survey Equipments that are scattered throughout the instance. They can all be reached easily using ranged attacks but it is also possible to destroy them in melee. This however requires you to jump down from the cliff to make Kasmeer port you back to the start, so you can continue.
- The first equipment can be found when continuing left along the cliffside after using Lightning Pull for the first time to cross the chasm.
- The second and third equipments are both located between the note and the wreckage clues. One is hidden behind the rocks, another one is located at a lower level.
- The fourth equipment can be found in the wreckage behind the dead Zephyrite Honor Guard after finding all 3 clues.
- Achievement qualification may be tracked via the No Rock Unturned effect.
- This achievement requires you to ascend the jumping puzzle in Dry Top at the end of the instance, located near the dead Zephyrite Honor Guard, without using any aspects. You can climb up the first part by using the construct to the left of the regular start. From there, go up and then jump on the large wooden tube. Having swiftness makes this jump easier. Walk up the tube and carefully make your way through the construct and all the way to the top.
- It is also possible to "cheat" this achievement by using the wind aspect from below. If you stand in the aspect and jump repeatedly, or run back and forth through it, you can stack Temporary Abilities up to 90 seconds. This should give enough time to either ascend the jumping puzzle completely or at least get up high enough to make finishing it easier. Remember not to use Kasmeer's portal in that case, as it clears the aspect abilities.
- Achievement qualification may be tracked via the Zephyr's Ascent effect.

- Right next to the start of the jumping puzzle, there is a hay pile. To complete this achievement, you need to jump down from the top of the jumping puzzle into the hay pile. Jump off somewhere near the middle of the platform to best line up the fall. As you fall, navigate to fall into the hay pile. A personal map marker (ALT+Left-click) or a friend can show you the correct spot on the compass (minimap).

Dialogue[edit]
- Initial dialogues
- For the first dialogue in the open world with Spark and Nimbus, see their pages.
- Upon approaching the group
- Taimi: That structure is unstable. It would be unwise for us to go in. Scruffy's scan confirms that it won't support all our weight.
- Taimi: According to my calculations, the most efficient combination would be you, Marjory, and Kasmeer. The rest of us can wait out here.
- Rox: Did she just call us fat, Braham?
- Braham Eirsson: Yup. She sure did.
- Taimi: Facts are facts. The three of us together weigh as much as nineteen Kasmeers.
- Kasmeer Meade: Great. I'm a unit of measurement.
- Marjory Delaqua: Lead on, boss. Kas and I are with you. We'll holler for the rest of you if we need something smashed.
- Talking to your allies
- Kasmeer Meade: We need to stay focused here. This whole area is dangerous.
- Agreed.
- Marjory Delaqua: Lead the way when you're ready. There are people here who need our help.
- All right.
- Taimi: According to my calculations, we should find an alternative way around this obstacle.
- Thanks, Miss Obvious.
- After going through the portal, encountering the barrier
- Kasmeer Meade: Hold on. I'll cast... Wait. Something's wrong!
- Marjory Delaqua: What's the matter, doll?
- Kasmeer Meade: I can't form a portal. Something here is blocking me.
- Marjory Delaqua: I've collected some of the Zephyrite crystals. See if you can break through with this Sun crystal.
- After dashing through the barrier
- Marjory Delaqua: Hey, smash that Inquest thing so we can catch up.
- After destroying the Inquest device
- Inquest Sapper Kloddi: Halt, intruders. This area falls under Inquest jurisdiction. You are trespassing. Ergo, begone, or we'll have no choice but to oust you.
- Marjory Delaqua: Look, we're just trying to help these poor crash victims and find out what happened. Do you know anything about the crash?
- Inquest Sapper Kloddi: All we know is that whatever lands in our territory is ours to salvage. Let us show you just how serious we are about this.
- After defeating the Inquest
- Marjory Delaqua: I guess we showed them. Still think I'm not ready for battle?
- Kasmeer Meade: Listen. I'm sorry about how I've been acting. I just can't stand the thought of you getting hurt again. That scared the fluff out of me.
- Marjory Delaqua: I know, honey. I've felt the same way about you. But you convinced me that you can handle yourself. Now, let me convince you.
- Kasmeer Meade: All right.
- Kasmeer Meade: You could clear that gap with a lightning tether. Try this crystal.
- Talking to your allies
- Marjory Delaqua: We need to find a way across this chasm. Maybe we can use those crystals?
- Good idea.
- Kasmeer Meade: How are we supposed to get across that?
- Magic!
- After crossing the gap
- Kasmeer Meade: Something's actively blocking my magic. Please keep an eye out for anything unusual.
- After destroying the Arcane Dampener
- Kasmeer Meade: That was definitely interfering with my spell. Now that it's out of commission, I should be able to conjure a short-range portal.
- Approaching Morning
- Morning: (groan) Help me. Please. Someone.
- Marjory Delaqua: Look at you, picking on the less powerful. You bully.
- After the fight
- Morning: Please. I'm here. Help me.
- Kasmeer Meade: This one's alive but hurt badly.
- Marjory Delaqua: You're going to be okay. My friends and I will get you out of here.
- Morning: F-f-forget about me. The Master of Peace is in danger. Someone has to go find him and protect him.
- Marjory Delaqua: The Master of Peace? Your leader? Where is he? Why is he in danger?
- Morning: I don't...know why. But the sylvari is trying to kill him. Please...
- Marjory Delaqua: Hey. Hey! Stay with me. Ahh...damn. She's dead.
- Kasmeer Meade: I hate to speak ill of the dead, but that Zephyrite was lying.
- Marjory Delaqua: About what?
- Kasmeer Meade: Don't get me wrong. She was very afraid for the Master of Peace. But when she said she didn't know why he was in danger...I could tell. She was lying.
- Marjory Delaqua: Why would she lie? Are you sure?
- Kasmeer Meade: Absolutely. It was in her posture and in her eyes. She didn't give us the whole truth.
- Marjory Delaqua: I believe you. Let's press on and see if we can find any more answers.
- When trying to get up
- Marjory Delaqua: I think you could make that jump with a Wind crystal. Here, try this one.
- Once reaching the top
- Marjory Delaqua: Hey, smash that Inquest thing so we can catch up.
- Once destroying the Arcane Dampener
- Kasmeer Meade: One portal, coming right up.
- Discussing the situation with Marjory
- It's one tragedy after another. First Lion's Arch and now this terrible accident. What's happening to our world?
- This was no accident. Look at those bodies.
- Their bodies are riddled with knife wounds. They didn't die in the crash. They were attacked.
- Before the crash. Something happened on the ship.
- The Zephyrites always seemed so gentle to me, but these died fighting. There are defensive wounds on their hands and arms, as if they were shielding themselves from their attacker.
- No culture survives long without learning to defend itself.
- So many of them. It must have been a large force that attacked.
- I don't think so. The stab wounds are from the same blade. No variation.
- Yes—as if inflicted by one lone attacker.
- A formidable attacker who took them down single-handed.
- Them and their airship. An accomplished saboteur, then.
- Yes, indeed.
- Kasmeer Meade: All these dead... They're breaking my heart.
- Marjory Delaqua: Our friend pointed out to me that these people weren't killed in the crash. They were dead beforehand.
- Kasmeer Meade: What?
- Marjory Delaqua: Murder.
- Investigating the note
- This page torn from a mission log has a single phrase scrawled across it: "I turn my back on you, Mother. My solo voice of truth will dampen the cacophony of fools. —Aerin"
- I should discuss this with Marjory.
- Talking to Marjory about the note
- Marjory Delaqua: What did you find?
- (If sylvari)
- I recognize this. It's a Soundless mantra for meditation, scrawled on someone's personal logbook.
- A what? Why is it soundless?
- The Soundless are sylvari. A faction.
- Oh yes. I remember something about that They're a fringe group, right? They've cut off their loyalties to the Pale Tree?
- From the Pale Tree and all other sylvari. They meditate to keep their minds away from the Dream.
- Do you think this sylvari was a Soundless? Are Soundless evil?
- No sylvari is inherently evil. But some choose that path.
- So we're looking for a Soundless sylvari who no longer enjoys the protection of the Pale Tree.
- And who is most likely male, judging from the name.
- (Otherwise)
- It reads like a meditation, scrawled on a page from someone's personal logbook. Are you familiar with the Soundless?
- I've heard of them. They're usually peaceful. Do you think this sylvari is one of them?
- Perhaps.
- The Soundless turned away from the Pale Tree's protection, didn't they? I remember hearing something about rejecting their own society.
- True, but unlike the Nightmare Court, they're not inherently evil.
- So we're looking for a Soundless sylvari who no longer enjoys the protection of the Pale Tree.
- And who is most likely male, judging from the name.
- Marjory Delaqua: So our Sylvari was Soundless.
- Kasmeer Meade: Jory, you sound downright excited.
- Marjory Delaqua: The plot thickens, my dear. Of course I'm excited.
- Investigating the dead Zephyrite Honor Guard
- Marjory Delaqua: This Zephyrite is armed and armored, as if part of some elite guard. There's blast powder and scorching on her body.
- Leave.
- Kasmeer Meade: Why does it have to be another sylvari?
- Marjory Delaqua: I don't know, but his actions are not random. He was after something or someone specific.
- Kasmeer Meade: The Master of Peace? Is he on the run? Is the assassin after him?
- Marjory Delaqua: I think so, yes. We have to find him before the assassin does. Do you think we can track them?
- Investigating the wreckage
- This wood was blast-scorched in an explosion, rather than slow-burned, as seen on most of the wreckage.
- I should discuss this with Marjory and Kasmeer.
- Marjory Delaqua: Hey you guys, look over here!
- Talking to Marjory about the wreckage
- Marjory Delaqua: The scorch marks and heavy damage to these airship support beams is consistent with explosives. A bomb was likely placed near them.
- That seems to confirm sabotage.
- Kasmeer Meade: Weird. Some of this wreckage isn't fresh. These burn marks are old. It's as if they'd been attacked before the crash.
- Talking to Marjory about the three clues
- Marjory Delaqua: I doubt the Master of Peace knows this area any better than we do. If you were him and being pursued, where would you go?
- Hm. I'd head for the closest town.
- That makes sense. Okay, then. We should head into that town there.
- I'll go. You stay here and tie up the investigation.
- Sure, boss. You don't mind going by yourself?
- I'll take Rox, Braham, and Taimi with me.
- Okay. We'll meet you when we're done here.
- Be safe.
- Kasmeer Meade: Jory?
- Marjory Delaqua: Yes, dear?
- Kasmeer Meade: I was hoping we'd have a break from the death and destruction once Scarlet was gone.
- Marjory Delaqua: Unfortunately, I believe Scarlet was just the tip of a very large, very deep iceberg.
- When jumping or falling down the cliffs at any point during the story
- Kasmeer Meade: Gotcha! Watch your step.
- Kasmeer Meade: Careful, I might not be able to catch you if you keep falling.
For some reason the marker for the step "Speak to Spark in Dry Top" is completely incorrect. When on another map there will be a marker just northwest of
Raptor Prowl, while being inside of the map will result in no marker at all. Spark's actual location is in front of the entrance of the map, crouching just south of
Dry Top Entry Waypoint — .
My story[edit]
|
“
Marjory, Kasmeer, and I investigated the Zephyrite airship crash in Dry Top. Wreckage and bodies were strewn about the canyon, making it difficult to piece together the sequence of events. We learned of a Soundless sylvari named Aerin who attacked the ship's crew and set off the explosives that ultimately took down the aircraft. We have reason to believe this murderous saboteur is after the Master of Peace, who has been missing. I should head to the nearby mining town, Prosperity, to see if he's there.
Kasmeer worried that Marjory still hadn't healed from the fight against Scarlet, but her fears were put to rest after Marjory held her own in our repeated fights against the Inquest operatives at the crash site.
