Overload Air

Overload. Use your air magic to summon a nimbus that repeatedly strikes nearby enemies. When this ability is complete, imbue your allies with electricity and create a lingering static region that strikes enemies at the same interval. Using this skill causes the attunement to have a longer recharge.

  • Strikes an enemy up to 14 times.
  • Grants Fury 4 times during the channel and 4 times after the channel is complete, for a total of 8 times. All 8 ticks of Fury are applied in a 360 radius around the elementalist.
  • While it only damages 3 enemies, the Static Charge gets applied on 5 allies.
  • Direct damage scales with the equipped (main-hand) weapon. Default damage in PvE for exotic Dagger or Scepter is 262, for Staff 289, without weapon 190.
  • Casts Electric Discharge at the beginning of the channel during combat only while using Air specialization. Starting combat with Overload Air will not trigger Electric Discharge.
Using Overload Air while riding a Zip Line will leave the character stuck in the animation if the channeling was interrupted by reaching the end of the Zip Line. This can be fixed by using a transformation such as tonics or Tornado, by using a different Overload skill while riding a Zip Line, or by relogging.

  • This skill now also grants fury to allies. Increased the power coefficient from 0.715 to 0.951 in PvE only.
February 25, 2020 Competitive content update:
  • (Competitive split) Reduced power coefficient per strike from 0.765 to 0.612.
July 16, 2019
  • Increased damage of the Static Charge effect provided by this skill by 20%. Fixed a bug that prevented Electric Discharge from firing.
  • Casting this skills now triggers the trait Electric Discharge.
August 08, 2017 Path of Fire pre-patch:
  • The total number of attacks has been reduced from 17 to 14.

  • The damage of this skill has been reduced by 7% in PvE only.
