Resolved tasks
2020
- As per the discussion here and on discord, changing objects that are coded as NPCs in order to perform various tasks to have their race set as "object" so they are categorized as "Object NPC's". - Doodleplex 21:54, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
- Done. 23 pages edited by J.A.R.V.I.S. - Doodleplex 22:04, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
- The Item infox was edited to accept Bulk foods, champ bags and loot boxes as container sub-types so they were categorized there and didn't need to be hardcoded on the page. Moved PvP Loot Box to Reward track loot box as that was more appriopate of a name. Edit pages for those categories so the subtype is in the infobox and removed the category from the bottom(for the most part) and correct links for the reward track loot box items.
- 1 Done. 29 edits bulk foods, 38 edits to champ bags, 293 edits to PvP Loot box, 42 to clean up redirects for the loot boxes. - Doodleplex 16:45, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Update the German interwikis for ascended armour pieces and recipes.
- The German names are now inverted with a hyphen. E.g. Ventari's Grips went from "Greifer Ventaris" to "Ventari-Greifer". The update seems to span:
- All ascended named sets: Ahamid's Masque to Zojja's Masque.
- All item types: helms to boots; axes to tridents.
- All associated recipes: Recipe: Grizzlemouth's Reaver.
- Working on this one. Needs a supporting bot task to fix the armor set on all the raid armor (currently all four sets are set to Malicious armor). -Chieftain Alex 11:25, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- 2826 potential pages identified (2109 with various incorrect interwikis). -Chieftain Alex 12:11, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- Fixed 11 english wiki pages which had been renamed ingame and their links. Bot is now running, expected completion in about an hour. -Chieftain Alex 12:42, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- 1 Complete. -Chieftain Alex 14:21, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

- From Talk:Named armor: "Fixed Zhed myself, but it seems all named armor don't link to the correct german page anymore e.g. Ogden's armor links to de:Ogdens Rüstung, correct would be de:Ogden-Rüstung since 6 march 2018. Some don't have an interwiki link. And Brutus and Sheena's armor has half the parts named each (also linked to devona set, which I corrected). Can someone automate the page updates (around 150 edits)? - User:Kvothe 23:27, 22 May 2019 (UTC)"
- 1 Found the above on the talk page and actioned. -Chieftain Alex 13:31, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- Per the discussion on <nowiki>[[Talk:Strike Mission: Forging Steel]], fix any links from [[Strike Mission: Forging Steel]] to Forging Steel. -Chieftain Alex 13:06, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- 1 About 111 pages updated. Some by hand to fix random underscores and {{main}}. -Chieftain Alex 13:06, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- To be more in line with other achievement categories, please move Daily (achievements) to Daily (achievements) (on Daily the otheruses states the page is the achievement category, but to me it seems Daily (achievements) resembles it more closely, might rework after the move) —Kvothe (talk) 07:57, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- I've deleted the old redirect blocking the way, moved the page, and purged all linked pages. There's some non-bot work figuring out if {{Daily achievement row}} can be straight up replaced with {{Achievement table row}}. Also {{Achievement table header}}. Then needs the standard achievement nav too. Still to do: bot replace all the hardcoded links. -Chieftain Alex 09:59, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- I've rewritten the Daily and Daily (achievements) articles. Template changes and bot edits still not made. -Chieftain Alex 10:46, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- 1 All done by hand. Ouch. -Chieftain Alex 22:44, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

- Replace all links to {{Inventory/standard merchant 1}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 2}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 3}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 4}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 5}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 6}}, {{Inventory/standard merchant 7}} with {{Inventory/standard merchant}} using the relevant parameters. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 00:41, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
- 0 I don't see the point sorry. I thought the original request on discord was talking about certain vendors showing less inventory items. -Chieftain Alex 18:40, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- I've edited {{Inventory/standard merchant}} to accept parameters specifying which kits/tools are available so we no longer need all of these separate templates for each variation of standard merchant. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 19:31, 16 October 2019 (UTC)

- If you genuinely think this is a worthwhile activity, please specify what the equivalent parameters required are for each of the templates. Also why is "kit" singular whilst "tool" is plural? -Chieftain Alex 18:55, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

- Per the community portal discussion, rename "Vendors" section on item pages to "Currency for". --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 08:53, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- ← moved to Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Bots#Rename "Vendors" section on item pages
- Unfortunately I've finished renaming the sections whilst you guys agreed not to rename the sections or something. Can you discuss on the community portal then bring back a clear request. -Chieftain Alex 21:55, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- 1 351 pages edited with the robot. For pages not edited, see the hidden HTML list between here [a] and here [b]-Chieftain Alex 22:07, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- Several Marker map templates on event pages have extra [ ] brackets written inside the template before and after markers list. This results in not showing the markers, please remove them. DJemba (talk) 12:28, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
- I can't bot that due to page selection/lack of finesse within the json. I'll do it by hand with the bot account though. -Chieftain Alex 17:14, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

- To support documenting the Training tab of the Hero panel, add the parameter "training order" to {{Skill infobox}} and {{Trait infobox}}, choosing an integer value based on the order from the API - should be 1110 pages. -Chieftain Alex 09:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- 1 1110 pages edited. -Chieftain Alex 10:31, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- Updated the names of weapons using the "of Intelligence" prefix to "of Vision" - they got renamed when Superior Sigil of Intelligence was renamed to Superior Sigil of Vision. (There's probably a few other upgrades with similar issues but I can't think of any right now). -Chieftain Alex 17:39, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- 1 80 pages updated. -Chieftain Alex 17:39, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- Please add the parameter
type
(based on its current section) to the template {{Adventure rewards}} , namelytype = first-time
for the section "First-time reward" andtype = daily
for the section "Daily reward". Ultimately, distinguishing this two acquisition types can be used for the templates {{rewards item}} and {{rewarded by}}. Example:
== Rewards == === First-time reward === {{Adventure rewards | type = first-time | gold objective = <0:35 | gold experience = 80010 | gold item = Griffon Master Course: Gold | silver objective = <0:50 | silver experience = 40005 | silver item = Griffon Master Course: Silver | bronze objective = <1:15 | bronze experience = 26670 | bronze item = Griffon Master Course: Bronze }} === Daily reward === {{Adventure rewards | type = daily | gold objective = <0:35 | gold experience = 48006 | gold item = Jahai Bluffs Griffon Master: Gold | silver objective = <0:50 | silver experience = 32004 | silver item = Jahai Bluffs Griffon Master: Silver | bronze objective = <1:15 | bronze experience = 21336 | bronze item = Jahai Bluffs Griffon Master: Bronze }}

- 1 Done, 79 pages edited. The headers were remarkably consistent which made this an easy task. Probably won't affect you but there's a stub on Time Trial: Pumpkin Paradise for missing XP quantities. -Chieftain Alex 20:32, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- If possible, please fix broken h4 headings (not sure about h5 and h6) as pointed out by this edit caused by this edit. Not sure how many affected pages there are, the wiki search doesn't yield any results, however a google search using
site:wiki.guildwars2.com "=="
and restricting to last week does find some pages, e.g. Super Mace Skin. --Tolkyria (talk) 17:19, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Whilst I believe Doodleplex has run another sweep over her previous bot edits to address the errors induced by Jarvis, I'm running over the last 5000 bot edits to double-check. I will then do something similar to what you suggest to look for errors on other pages.
- Doodle, as I've suggested before, can you please post a summary of what you're running when you're deploying your bot (much like I do above). -Chieftain Alex 18:52, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- 1 5000 of the last edited pages by Jarvis reviewed - I think Doodle fixed all her errors. Google results are outdated and all of those pages have also been fixed (circa 100), excluding userspace/template/project namespace. -Chieftain Alex 19:21, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! --Tolkyria (talk) 21:03, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I found this thing by chance that removes bizarre spacing and characters and wanted to see if it would find anything with wonky spacing that was using the item infobox. Apparently doing that made the headers wonky, so I won't be doing that again. Total edits was 38. - Doodleplex 21:24, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

- Update the 14 Drizzlewood Coast map icons to the right category. -Chieftain Alex 07:08, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- 1 Done. -Chieftain Alex 07:08, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- The List of Guild Wars 1 skins page needs some updating. It seems that the page predates the wardrobe, so most of the items in the list point to the item itself instead of the skin (with the exception of outfits and armor sets). I want to change all the items on the lists to their respective skins, but that would mean that the redirects to the GW1 wiki would have to be moved from those items and onto the skin, and the same would go for the GW2 wiki redirects on the GW1 wiki. Would it be possible to have a bot remove the Guild Wars 1 redirects and "Guild Wars 1 skin" category from those items and instead apply them to the item's skin? --Teletric.3821 (talk) 19:23, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- I'd suggest the item is the more interesting page - the term "skin" for the category here (2013) does indeed predate the wardrobe (2014). I'm amenable to renaming the category but actually I think the current arrangement of linking to the items is preferable. -Chieftain Alex 20:40, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- It may be more interesting, but linking to the skin page suits the purpose of the page better as the skin page lists all the methods to acquire the skin, whereas linking the item would only provide one way to obtain the skin, I.E. with a named variant instead of crafting. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 02:50, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- As an example, Shield of the Wing (skin) is a gw1 skin that's used by multiple unique items. It would be better to have that one skin page linked than to have each of the items using that skin linked, right? - Felix Omni 19:56, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
- 0 No response, not done. -Chieftain Alex 13:11, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

- Update Rune and Sigil pages using Template:Contains upgrade component to use "Extracted from" instead of "Salvaged from" as the header since salvaging those was pretty much removed in November 2018.
- 1 Done. 179 pages edited. - Doodleplex 18:36, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- Per Template talk:Mystory, add the .jpg suffix to the image parameter to align with every other wiki template. Also, if the parameter is the same as <page title>.jpg, just remove the parameter completely. -Chieftain Alex 18:00, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

- Almost all of the Crown Pavillion mobs have a Historical location set for them on their respective pages. As the FotW is seasonal content, they are no longer historical! Could definitely use a mass remove of that section on their pages if it's possible. If not, I shall devote my evening to doing it myself! Muirellthe Moon 23:49, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- May I bring up an old request, see here: "Skill infobox uses some parameter names which need changing: [..] replace "variables" with "facts". The infobox has been configured with temporary backwards support."
Request: Please rename the parameter "variables" to "facts" for the templates {{skill infobox}} and {{skill infobox/historical}}). This would provide consistency between templates, e.g. the template {{trait infobox}} already uses the parameter "facts", e.g. the skill infobox documentation already states "facts" and doesn't mention variables anymore. --Tolkyria (talk) 12:17, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

- Split Category:Screenshots (26k images) into Category:Object screenshots (~3000), Category:Dye screenshots (~137), Category:User image screenshots (~900) and any other non-contentious subcategories. -Chieftain Alex 10:44, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- In progress. -Chieftain Alex 10:44, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- 1 I've done as much as I think I can manage today. Category:Screenshots is now below 10k - the largest new subcategories are Weapon/Location (scenic, not maps)/Object. I'm not sure what to do with the maps of "how to get to various things" (at least 2400 of the remaining images in Category:Screenshots are how to get to things). -Chieftain Alex 18:35, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- 837 sorted this morning, mostly to Achievement map images. Must have done a few last week too, as unsorted total in Screenshots is now down to 5217. -Chieftain Alex 11:31, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- 1 Splitting of bestiary screenshots by the NPC race infobox parameter. -Chieftain Alex 13:09, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

- Since I can't do it myself and I think Alex can with his bot: Move any of the PvP armor or weapon that still has "PvP" at the start of its name to either not have it have PvP or change it to be <equipment name> (PvP). I've stumbled across a list that basically says all the PvP weapons and armor pieces dropped the PvP from their name before they got KO'd off the API. - Doodleplex 19:46, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- The moving would be easy, however verifying and fixing all of the broken links would be beyond me. I've created a list of all the pages concerned here (1083 weapons, 754 armor, 2 back items, 23 trinkets). I'm not sure that it's worth moving all these pages with the risk of all the broken links. -Chieftain Alex 13:25, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ok excluding back items/trinkets, moves are now inprogress. In terms of what needs cleaning up: (1) fix "set" parameter on armor/weapon piece pages, (2) replace intro sentence with new pagename on armor/weapon piece pages, (3) any pvp reward chest pages need identifying for update, (4) set pages need their overview link tables fixing. -Chieftain Alex 15:00, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- Moves are complete. I've added all whatlinkshere pages to the central sandbox. Will do some bot edits later to fix some of the broken links. -Chieftain Alex 16:37, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- 1 Finally done. I leave any broken links to you Doodle. Possible things to consider: (1) the name parameter in any of the affected armor/weapon infoboxes and recipe templates, (2) might want to consider renaming the weapon nav templates (effort for no gain imo). -Chieftain Alex 11:25, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

- The template {{Achievement box}} (displaying a single achievement) is currently intended to be used by the parameter "name" which defaults to PAGENAME. Normally, we do not name the most important parameter as this is incredibly clunky, e.g. compare with the template {{achievement}} (also displaying a single achievement, just more compact) which uses unnamed parameter 1. Due to their similar behaviour, it would be nice if the two templates ({{achievement box}} and {{achievement}}) could share the same parameters to be more consistent.
Request: Please replace all occurrences of {{achievement box}} with parameter "name" by parameter "1" (unnamed parameter), e.g. replace{{achievement box|name="All or Nothing" Mastery}}
with{{achievement box|"All or Nothing" Mastery}}

- Yeah I think I used the name parameter as part of the migration back when I was crap with AWB. Template looks like it has support for parameter 1 already so I'll get this rolling in a few minutes when screenshots are done. -Chieftain Alex 13:25, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

- I'm not sure what "1 [..] done." stands for. While the two infoboxes have been adjusted to support both parameters (actually all ten parameters) in the meanwhile, see Template:Object infobox edit and Template:NPC infobox edit, the formatting guides in GW2W namespace remained untouched and still lists the old parameters. Furthermore, I found 6 mainspace {{object infobox}}es that still use the parameter "mapX" (X in {1,...,5}) and 15 mainspace {{NPC infobox}}es that still use the parameter "mapX" (X in {1,...,5}). Are those getting a parameter rename too (again, repeating myself "1 [..] done.")?
In my opinion a bot edit is only an intermediate step, with many manual steps before (e.g. proper request, properly updating all template pages, keeping the templates running with both parameters, etc...) and after (checking if everything was changed correctly, removing the old parameter, checking formatting guides, etc...) the bot edit. I don't know if it is too much to ask for consistent and complete edits, especially when it comes to such crucial bot edits that affect so many pages and totally change the template usage? Again, IDK, shouldn't take the person who made a bot request on this page take care of all the tasks I mentioned above? --Tolkyria (talk) 11:02, 9 November 2020 (UTC)- Since there haven't been any progress yet, the pages that are still using map1...map5 are:
- NPCs: Aetherblade Pirate Captain, Bakkin, Captain Ellen Kiel, Champion Imbued Aberration (destroyer), Champion Son of Svanir, Elite Son of Svanir, Gourdon the Racing Choya, Nayeli, Olmakhan Earthstalker, Renegade Soldier, Ridhais, Scarlet Briar, Son of Svanir, Veteran Son of Svanir, Xeniph
- Objects: Empty Rune Slot, Hazmat Suit, Posted Message, Remains of the Northern Wall, Romke's Horn, Sohothin

- Apologies for the delay, real life happened yesterday and I had no real free time to do anything. I forgot that they went up to 5, my error for NPCs, but I'm not sure why it missed those handful of objects though, so I did the the list manually myself. As for any additional concerns, yes those were taken care of, though I prefer to do those by hand and not with a bot, and therefore I don't include those here. As far as I know, all templates, formatting guides, etc. have been updated accordingly to notate the switch. - Doodleplex 00:33, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

- Re-add Treasure Hunting Kit as a drop to all champions and legendaries present on the Bounty page. Checking the pages manually after the bot ask will be easier than re-adding the drop by hand. ~Sime 15:01, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
