Xeniph is a ghost found at Defender's Field. In life, she was a blacksmith who served Ebonhawke; she died before she was able to complete a powerful blade intended to fight the charr. In death, the Pact Commander shows her post-treaty Ascalon and helps her finish the blade—now as a weapon to protect the peace between humans and charr.

She is only visible after a Ectoplasm-Infused Vision Crystal has been used to unlock the Guide to Greater Understanding collection. Once she has been spoken to, she disappears to the next location.

Dialogue[edit]

At the first location
(if charr)
You... you're talking to me. Why would you talk to me?
Talk more option tango.png Who are you?
Xeniph. I've seen your kind here before. But I don't understand... you come here to pay respects, not desecrate.
Talk more option tango.png The treaty of Ebonhawke was signed.
Treaty? With the charr? But... I was building a blade to fight your kind. It embodied the very spirit of Ebonhawke.
Talk more option tango.png The old spirit, I'm guessing.
I must finish the blade to go free. Yet how can I represent this new Ebonhawke?
Talk end option tango.png You need a guide to show you the world through different eyes.
(otherwise)
You... you're talking to me. How are you talking to me?
Talk more option tango.png Who are you?
Xeniph. I'm sorry, it's just been so long since anyone's heard me.
Talk more option tango.png Why were you moaning?
I see a world that doesn't make sense! Charr walking among humans, mourning beside us...
Talk more option tango.png The treaty of Ebonhawke was signed.
What? How...? I was building a blade. To battle the charr. It embodied the very spirit of Ebonhawke!
Talk more option tango.png The war is over.
I can't move on until I finish the blade. And it must represent the spirit of Ebonhawke... even this new one. Will you be my guide?
Talk end option tango.png My eyes are yours.
At the second location
These mines are so different now.
Talk more option tango.png You knew this place before the Brand.
Yes. The materials here were sound. I used them extensively in my forge. It's strange...
Talk more option tango.png What is?
Seeing humans fighting alongside charr. I spent my whole life building weapons to kill them.
Talk end option tango.png Change is the only constant—even for the dead.
At the third location
(if charr)
I see that your fellow charr fight day and night to bring this world back to war. I guess not much has changed after all.
Talk more option tango.png Renegades and human separatists make a lot of noise, but they are few.
Even if what you say is true, mutual hatred is still part of this land, so it must be part of my blade.
Talk end option tango.png There is still more for you to see.
(otherwise)
You see! These charr fight day and night to drag this world back to war!
Talk more option tango.png Human separatists are just as much to blame.
I guess not much has changed at all.
Talk more option tango.png Factions of hate might be loud, but they're few.
It may be as you say. But great or small, that discord is part of this land, so it must be a part of my blade.
Talk end option tango.png There is still more for you to see.
At the fourth location
I'd heard stories of this place, but could never visit it. The charr held it, back in my time.
Talk more option tango.png It's quite peaceful, aside from drakes and harpies.
Seems even in nature there's a constant contest between peace and strife.
Talk end option tango.png Perhaps that delicate balance is the point.
At the fifth location
I've seen this new Ebonhawke. It still bleeds from war, but there is something new that I didn't have in my own time.
Talk more option tango.png What's that?
Hope. I think I'm ready to forge the blade. Join me where we first met.
Talk end option tango.png I will.
At the final location (without an Oiled Orichalcum Greatsword Blade)
I'll need an Oiled Orichalcum Greatsword Blade.
Talk more option tango.png I'll return with one.
At the final location (with an Oiled Orichalcum Greatsword Blade)
This sword will represent a new Ebonhawke. It is no longer meant as a weapon of war, but as a means to protect peace.
Talk more option tango.png And I will use it for that very purpose.
Thank you. I don't know if this new Ebonhawke will last, but for the first time in a long time, I have hope.
Talk end option tango.png Rest now. You've earned it.
