Resolved tasks
January to April 2016
- 1 Ran User:Darqbot over the HoT armor sets do add
status = hot
with misc. minor corrections. -Darqam (talk) 15:52, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- 1 added

on all the armor pieces listed here: Spirit Vale armor -Darqbot (talk) 17:04, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- changed 'skill challenge' to 'hero challenge' where applicable, and attempted to catch all the
skillyes
(and no variant), toheroyes
(and no variant). I'm assuming I didn't catch everything, but this should be a good chunk of it. Pages with historical status, update note pages, and other such pages where the word 'skill' is applicable (from a historical perspective) was left alone.- About 350 pages edited (didn't keep track of the exact number). -Darqam (talk) 16:48, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Did you randomise the order of pages you edited? (maybe sort the pages alphabetically or something before editing?) -Chieftain Alex 17:15, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- I simply went through the pages in the order the awb software found them. I can try to make it more ordered next time if that helps. I imagine that shouldn't be too hard. -Darqam (talk) 17:18, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, select all pages found, right click, sort alphabetically (this option is at the bottom of the menu). -Chieftain Alex 17:31, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Alright I will do that next time, apologies if those edits made things hard in some way. -Darqam (talk) 17:32, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Uh guys, I just noticed and figured out a small problem with the changing the "skill" to "hero" in the "Event infobox" template...it's removing all of the events from "Category:Hero challenges" as apparently events only showed up if "| type = skill challenge"(not "| type = hero challenge") was in "Event infobox". =x - Doodleplex 19:51, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Fixed. Job queue needs to be processed before changes will be visible. -Chieftain Alex 20:13, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

- About 350 pages edited (didn't keep track of the exact number). -Darqam (talk) 16:48, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Ran Darqbot to change any links to Prison-Camp and Bandit Champions to link to Prison Camp Encounter. there were 14 edits made today (which altered those done prior incorrectly). There is unfortunately not a nice order to the pages since there was quite a bit of back and forth with me figuring out wording and proper way of naming things. -Darqam (talk) 15:56, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
- Updated links in Category:Stubs containing the keyword "NPC infobox" to have "stub|npc" instead of "stub", and "section-stub|npc" instead of "section-stub". Additionally all notices of "stub|npc" were placed above the infobox instead of anywhere on the page. Edits done: 722 (+ 5 to 10 edits before my program crashed). Note that I didn't do any work in checking if pages were still in fact stubs or not. -Darqam (talk) 20:34, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- Updated links in Category: Articles with stub sections in order to classify them into appropriate sections (for example section-stub to npc

May to August 2016
- Bypassed a few redirects
- Orr->Ruins of Orr: 267 edits
- Magus Falls -> Heart of Maguuma: 562 edits

September to December 2016
- Have a bot create a list of missing items by itemid(or chat link)
- In light of what Alex said above. Would it be possible to have a bot go though the list of items by ItemID(Or chat Link) and find all the missing items by searching the itemID(or chat link). Then report back the itemID and the name of the item of the missing items. Then someone could go though the list and find the missing items(and items missing ids). With Heart of Thorns out there are a lot of new items in the game it would be nice to know what is missing. That is unless we don't want to document all the items in the game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Anzenketh (talk • contribs) at 01:47, 6 November 2015 (UTC).
- I've picked up a list of item ids from the item api and am now querying the wiki for pages that do and don't have pages (by hand, 500 at a time though). If I finish this I'll create a list of undocumented items. -Chieftain Alex 16:24, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi again, I've generated a list of item IDs not associated with any page in my sandbox in this revision. It is already out of date slightly because Greener has gone and added ids for the incorrectly ID'd items I found using the lookup. -Chieftain Alex 00:27, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

- Clean up NPC infobox and Object infobox location inputs to remove brackets.
- Currently running this bot task. I'm thinking about converting all commas in the location parameter to use semi-colons, but that is for another day. -Chieftain Alex 16:24, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- NPC infobox: 9320 pages scanned, 848 pages edited. Bot missed some pages so I'm going through DPL printouts to find the oddly formatted ones. Will repeat for object infobox once done. -Chieftain Alex 19:28, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Removed bracket and br support for Infobox location since I finished the cleanup operation. -Chieftain Alex 00:27, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

- Remove the infobox parameter
| collection =
from equipment pages because it's the skin, not the item, that's part of the collection. Where necessary, I will then add it to the skin page (e.g. all skins in Ascended Accoutrement already had the collection parameter, it just wasn't enabled for display). —Dr Ishmael 15:19, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- My bad, I only added the collection parameter at mora's request and although I had added it to both the skin + item pages, you're probably right + it should be skin only. -Chieftain Alex 16:28, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- That's fine, I think it made sense to me at the time too. —Dr Ishmael 17:32, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- Meh... looks like I'm going to be too busy to do any more with this today. And I remembered that I'd had a plan (of sorts...) to reverse the way we do this anyway: to have the collection page annotate which items/skins belong to it, then have the infoboxes query for that. Bleh. —Dr Ishmael 18:51, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- Note: this task probably was not completed. -Chieftain Alex 21:18, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

- Delete and then restore the redirects appearing in "Property:Has game context" - they haven't been edited since SMW was fixed to not leave properties behind on redirect pages. -Chieftain Alex 21:35, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Done. 138 pages deleted/restored. -Chieftain Alex 21:35, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Request for a bot to go through replace icon links to files that are duplicates. Preferably weapon icons as there are a ton of those, and have them just use the "Iron" icon for weapons as most of the preview images is of the weapon's iron version. I already did the wood weapons before Greener said to ask for a bot before I kill the recent changes page heh. Also can bots do null edits, because if so that would really help killing duplicate images faster. - Doodleplex 00:08, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- I missed this task sorry. I'd need a list of the files to retain before I can think about this. This might be a bit too complex to resolve with a bot because us template writers are a bunch of muppets and have made difficult templates. -Chieftain Alex 21:22, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- It's mostly weapon icons that have duplicates, like there might be "Iron Dagger.png", "Crude Dagger.png, and "Dagger Token.png" that are all the same. If's it's too tricky, no worries, I'll just do it manually, I don't mind. =) - Doodleplex 00:39, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- 0 I've said this before I think: given that the files stick around server side anyway, there is absolutely no benefit to removing duplicate files. I figure this is a waste of time + probably difficult to weed out the non-infobox icon using items. Plus those files aren't strictly even duplicates (as in, different file size so they don't apear as "duplicates" on the file page) and as such you wouldn't be able to even find the files with a robot. -Chieftain Alex 20:43, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

- Request to have the contained in template added to ascended armour and weapon pages. E.g. a change like this and like this would be lovely. G R E E N E R 18:48, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
- Add level 3 headers, and I'll be happy as well. —Ventriloquist 23:48, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

== Acquisition == === Contained in === contained in
- So we're going for something like the above, on all crafted (?) ascended weapons/armor pages? -Chieftain Alex 21:22, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. Most of those pages use
Recipe
which will need to be changed to a T3 title as well. I believe this would be a better example. G R E E N E R 22:11, 3 October 2016 (UTC)- Began this task tonight, will pause midrun and resume tomorrow (20 hours). -Chieftain Alex 22:55, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- Were the asc breathers supposed to get contained in too? Currently they're only crafted. -Chieftain Alex 23:48, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- I forgot about those. I believe all breathers can be skipped. Haven't double checked that, but there will always be things which need to be cleaned up separately, a la Sunless weapons. 184.65.180.29 00:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Complete. I ended up dropping the contained in template onto the breathers too. Who knows they might end up in a box. -Chieftain Alex 17:38, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

- Currently going through 2270 pages (ascended weapons, ascended armor, ascended weapon recipe sheets, ascended armor recipe sheets) and refreshing the interwiki links with page names ripped straight from the API. -Chieftain Alex 21:24, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Complete. -Chieftain Alex 17:38, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Request to switch anything that's just screenshot to screenshot. There might not be a lot of these as I think something similar was run before. Also not sure how exactly you'd specify it, but adding ==Licensing== to images where it doesn't currently exist would be nice. - Doodleplex 18:33, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yep done this task before (first part with enforcing the template case). The second task I'll try afterwards on pages which didn't contain licensing (I'll skip them the first time). -Chieftain Alex 21:10, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Done. >500 pages edited. --Chieftain Alex 21:40, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

- Changed the few remaining pages(pages with historical content were left alone) that still referred to certain hero points as skill points.

- There are more pages with this search, but I wanted to start small as I don't have a bot tag yet. - Doodleplex 03:02, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- Continuing this, the slash equals the pages I did today. Also switched three icons links so a duplicate icon could be deleted. - Doodleplex 22:09, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

(I didn't want to kill recent changes by doing all of them, will do the other half tomorrow) - Doodleplex 00:58, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Uploaded 178 files via pywikibot, afterward edited (almost) all the files since the summary was not formatted properly. Further 59 edits were made to classify the icons into their proper categories. -Darqam 23:09, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ran through all the files in Category:Screenshots and added == Licensing == to any image that didn't already have it. Also fixed any header that had the typo "Liscensing" to "Licensing" as part of that of that run as it was rather large and took nearly 4 hours to complete. Total number of edits made by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 1,049. Note, I started this task under my own account and changed roughly an additional 400+, - Doodleplex 03:54, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

- Same as above, had it go through Category:ArenaNet custom images. Total number of edits made by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 5,620 changes. (Also dear word, that took at least 10 hours...my poor bot.) - Doodleplex 03:04, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
- Earlier I asked Darqam to fix any redirects from Orr to Ruins of Orr. I was able to refine that a bit, and did a run to switch any thing in the Location section of an NPC's page from ;Orr to ;Ruins of Orr to follow suit of other NPC pages that have the location as the latter. Total changes by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 82.

- Ran through NPCs with stubs and clarified them a bit in regards to location, drops, skills or dialogue for easier updating due to the section-stub template being updated to show reason on the page. Total edits: 605
- As per recent update to the NPC infobox, ran to find any NPC in the Pact and removed from the bottom of the page and added ", Pact" to the infobox. Total changes: 729
- Ran through again and got rid of anything that got duplicated: 83 changed. - Doodleplex 02:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

- 1 completed on skills with changes. -Chieftain Alex 19:35, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- As per Guild_Wars_2_Wiki_talk:Event_formatting#Suggested_change, can a bot run through and move Event rewards to being above ==NPCs==? I really don't want to do it manually or kill the recent changes page doing this. =< - Doodleplex 20:50, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Completed on event pages without tables - so I think i missed two pages but annoyingly I closed the window before seeing which pages it skipped. I also ran some whitespace cleanup functions. -Chieftain Alex 19:35, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Request to remove "|rank = normal" / "|rank = Normal" and "| status = current" / "| status = Current" from NPC pages that have those in their infobox. Also if it could switch ==Abilities== and ==Events== to ==Combat abilities== and ==Event involvement== respectively that would be lovely. - Doodleplex 22:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
- 0 Ran through NPC pages and changed ==Events== to ==Event involvement==: 640 changes - Doodleplex 02:42, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

- Create trait history pages, alike to skill history pages above. -Chieftain Alex 02:38, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Complete. Created 433 pages. -Chieftain Alex 02:38, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- Move all icons and gallery images for skins, such that the final titles reflect the skin names. This has been carried out for BLTC weapons first, but it is anticipated similar tasks will be required. --Chieftain Alex 02:38, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Complete for BLTC, 1166 pages edited. --Chieftain Alex 02:38, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- Repeat the above icon/gallery task for ascended weapons. -Chieftain Alex 02:38, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Complete, ~500 pages edited. --Chieftain Alex 15:15, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- Repeat the above task for any remaining files with the suffix "_Skin.jpg" or "_Skin.png". -Chieftain Alex 15:15, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- 1 Work in progress, taking a very long time for me to figure out which pages get what fixes. -Chieftain Alex 15:15, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- 1 I ran my bot through the Special:WantedFiles for any of the icons that became red links as a result of the above. Changed 64 pages. Also had it do Null Edits so the pages would refresh their links, and most, if not all, of the icon links should be fixed now. As Null Edits don't show up as regular edits, I didn't keep track how many things I changed, but probably 200 or more. If anything is left from the above move, it's only a small handful now. - Doodleplex 23:04, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
January to April 2017
- Ran through and added NPCs to "Category:Story characters" that had story involvement but weren't in the category. Total edits by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 266
- Ran through NPCs and changed some headers using old formatting, namely: Note -> Notes, Dialog and Dialogues -> Dialogue, Historical Location -> Historical location, See Also -> See also, Combat Abilites -> Combat abilities, Event Involvement -> Event involvement, Items Offered -> Items Offered. Total edits by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 449
- Ran through the "Category:Story characters" and corrected headers from old formatting to follow the setup we are using for story characters. Total edits by User:J.A.R.V.I.S.: 166 - Doodleplex 20:11, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
- Ran through all NPCs(excluding some specific WvW NPCs due to being unsure if they dropped the loot or the bag they dropped did) that used the drops template, ie stuff and updated them to the new "Drops table row" template. I added| release = living world season 3
to the infoboxes of a few dozen Flashpoint articles, but I've realised that (a) this is a job for a bot and (b) the lws3 category would be better off split up into release subcategories. I've created the categories and tweaked the templates accordingly, but now I need a bot to go through my edits and replace "living world season 3" with "flashpoint". I'll manually fix anything the bot doesn't catch/gets wrong. --Idris (talk) 20:29, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
- Last Sunday (16th July) I added an infobox parameter to item infobox called "material storage" which denotes the section of the vault a material is stored in. This affected 421 pages. This upcoming Tuesday (25 July) will probably see the addition of more materials to the material storage section of the bank, at which point I intend to add parameters to those pages too. Do we want the parameter visible to readers btw? (example: Agate Orb + press edit + look at the infobox text) -Chieftain Alex 17:48, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

- I don't see where this bot edit was discussed so I am bringing it up here. JARVIS has apparently tagged a bunch of Champion pages with verification requests related to the Defiance change (when Anet added break bars). Some of these tags are being applied even when there is no specific claim in the article that the Champion even has Defiance, and is asking an open question (which would be more appropriate for e.g. Template:Research needed). As well, the Defiance article already explains what happened to the mechanic, so this is more of a maintenance request than anything else, to perform an update across a large set of pages. Given that only a small minority of enemies still use the original Defiance mechanic (as noted on Defiance) the workload being asked is perhaps backwards. I think the bot should just perform a mass removal of Defiance references from these pages and editors can manually revert/update where needed. But if the requests are to remain as is, I think they should be moved into their own maintenance category so as not to dilute actual verify requests for specific claims. 76.253.2.43 01:45, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- They were tagged as such because all champions do have some form of cc indicator, just what kind needs to be verified, so it was more suitable to ask for verification then any other maintenance tag. - Doodleplex 02:14, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- Virtually every page on the wiki has some kind of missing information that would be nice if included, but we don't tag all of them because of that. Specifically in regard to pages that have NO information about Defiance/breakbars you are asking for editors to generate original data, not to independently verify someone else's claim. As a whole, however, to individually vet ALL of these NPCs is more of a self-contained project that someone browsing the category is not looking to solve. Virtually all pages on the wiki can be tagged as missing some kind of information but that's not what a verify request is for; nobody I know of is making an active claim that these NPCs still have the Defiance ability. Removing those references in the worst case still makes the article correct by omission but in the vast majority of cases makes the wiki more correct than presently. If that's not still not convincing enough what exactly is the problem with putting these requests in their own category? Can you point me to the original discussion where this bot edit was approved? 76.253.2.43 04:35, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

- not sure how you prog the bots, but if you parse for "kit =" on the dye pages and then add category "Exclusive dyes" that should do the trick. Quiznos (talk) 02:09, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Assuming I've understood this request correctly, I think this is more easily done by adding one line to the dye infobox. I propose we change this request to remove any manually added Exclusive dye categories to finish off. (the category is now applied by the template instead). Luckily we only specify the kit parameter when the dye uniquely comes from one kit. -Chieftain Alex 07:46, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

- In reply to both Santax and Lonami; honestly the only mistake made here was that I neglected to update the orphaned list so it was 1-2 months out of date prior to processing it. The Viathan Vale file is still not linked from anywhere. If files are uploaded then take several years to become linked, I would argue they were probably not important anyway. It's up to editors to use what they upload. -Chieftain Alex 07:40, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
- I have to disagree with you there. I don't know much about other kinds of image that get uploaded, but even if concept art isn't used on a page, it's still within the scope of this wiki. Concept art tells us about the design and development process, is often viewed by people browsing through categories, and can be hidden away in obscure corners of the internet. Keeping it around is absolutely necessary if we want to completely document GW2. –Santax (talk · contribs) 07:57, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
- Agree with Santax, it's useful to have galleries, even if said pictures are not used anywhere outside the gallery. Official artwork and screenshots should be archived for historical purposes. - Concept art has always been exempt from the orphaned list, the file you requested above was GW1 concept art, easily retrievable at any time from GWW. If you haven't tagged the file correctly AND haven't used it, you're fair game for my robot. -Chieftain Alex 18:54, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
