Akeem
“Akeem taught us to explore the many things in this world—and the next—that we cannot know. The Bastion of the Obscure houses many mysteries that we've yet to crack. But looking into the abyss is how we determine Tyria's next steps.
Akeem, the Wizard of the Obscure, was a djinn member of the Wizard's Court and the leader of the Bastion of the Obscure.[1][2] They died during the Kryptis invasion of the Wizard's Tower.
Biography[edit]
Early years[edit]
Akeem was a djinn who joined the Wizard's Court and ascended at some point, likely after Vass and Waiting Sorrow had joined Isgarren's court.[3] The djinn wizard founded the Bastion of the Obscure in Amnytas to study the Mists. Akeem spent a lot of time shapeshifting into other species to learn more about them, while it is also not known anymore what type of djinn Akeem was. Their creed was to question everything and never accept the reality presented in front of one.[2]
Akeem died during the Kryptis invasion of the Wizard's Tower sometime between 604 and 635 AE.[4][5][6]
Legacy[edit]
Akeem's name has since been forgotten by mortals depite having an eternal legacy. According to Isgarren, this is what Akeem would have preferred.[7] Akeem's collection of scrolls has been locked in a room in the Bastion of the Obscure because they are dangerous to access without their former owner. The Bastion of the Obscure has not had a wizard to lead it since Akeem's fall.[2]
Isgarren took Akeem's djinn form to appear to Turai Ossa during their first encounter sometime around 860 AE.[8]
