Dialogue[edit]
- Welcome to the vault, Wayfinder. Please be mindful of the artifacts that surround us. Only a few will flay your mind simply for making contact, but I don't think that's a risk you want to take.
- What is this place?
- The wizard's personal vault, and I am its caretaker. Please, what can I enlighten you on? We may be at war with the Kryptis, but I'm always eager to educate a curious mind on our work here.
- Where did you get these objects?
- I was told something about rewards. Did you need help with anything?
- Ah, yes! Now that we've an asset as curious as you—and one who's able to easily navigate civilian Tyria—we're most interested in trading your knowledge for...well, some of yours.
- I'm listening.
- Whichever tasks you choose to pursue are very much up to you. Should your efforts turn fruitful, I'd be willing to share some of our spoils. We've a number of artifacts I'd be willing to part with.
- Color me interested! What else can you tell me about the vault?
- What about you? How did you join the ward?
- I was in the Priory for a long while. The Wizard's Tower had always fascinated us, but...it frustrated me that we couldn't know more. We knew that something operated in Tyria's shadow, but what?
- Hold up. The Priory knows about...all this?
- On the whole, they suspect. I imagine someone in that organization knows the whole truth, but they have worked with Isgarren to shut down the whispers... I eventually decided to find out for myself.
- How did you find out?
- Narcisse—I believe you've met—was a former Archon. She and I shared curiosities, so when she went off on some grand adventure, I followed.
- Wait—was it that easy?
- In a way, yes, but I imagine no one learns of this place and its secrets and maintains that knowledge without someone's permission. Had Isgarren not thought me an ally, I'd be in the Priory archives.
- Interesting. What else can you tell me.
- Hold that thought—I need to take care of something.
- (If Tyrian Taste Testing is active)
- So, we're putting together a meal for the Kryptis delegation from Nayos...
- So I've heard. Can't say I'm exactly comfortable with it, but if Isgarren's fine with it, then I will be too. And who knows - maybe some of their goods will fill the vault someday. So. Why come to me?
- Do you have any eggs?
- I'm sorry, did you say eggs?
- Sure did. One of them likes eggs. The older, the better.
- The things we do for diplomacy... (sighs) Yes, there's an old crate of ancient eggs collected from under the ashes of Mount Maelstrom centuries ago. We've been saving them for a special occasion...
- Good news! This is that special occasion.
- I've heard these prepared just right are to die for. Literally—you have to cook them in hot magma. So, here's what I'll do: I'll send the crate out above the cauldron in Mount Maelstrom.
- Uh-huh...
- You'll shoot the crate with your skyscale's fireball to open it up. The eggs will fall into the magma below, and you'll need to collect them before they burn. That's on you to figure out, not me.
- Piece of cake. Or egg, I guess. I'm off to Mount Maelstrom!
- Good luck. Please, try not to waste them. I'd prefer not to send another scouting party to any volcanic region to get more eggs like this.
- I'll do my best!
- On second thought, I'll ask later.
- On second thought, I'll ask later.
- On second thought, I'll ask later.
- On second thought, I'll ask later.
- On second thought, I'll ask later.
- That'd be correct. I'll be leaving now.
