Shadowstep to a foe and strike them. Use Shadow Return[sic] to shadowstep back and cure one condition.

  • Shadow Savior Shadow Savior — After completing a shadowstep, you are healed. Nearby allies are also healed for a larger amount. Only affects thief shadowsteps.

  • Traversing Dusk Traversing Dusk — Heal allies in the area around you when you shadowstep. Gain shadow force for each ally in the radius. Wells grant resistance on their initial impact.


  • If you use this skill without a target, shadowstep-related traits will not activate.
  • Infiltrator's Return.png Infiltrator's Return has 15 seconds to be activated after using Infiltrator's Strike to return to original location.
    • If you are out of range, it will move you 1200 units toward your original location.

  • (PvE only) Damage multiplier increased from 0.75 to 1.8.
February 25, 2020 Competitive content update:
  • (Competitive split) Reduced power coefficient from 0.75 to 0.5.

  • Immobilization duration has been split between game modes and will now use a lower 1-second duration in PvP and WvW while using 2 seconds in PvE.

  • The immobile duration of this skill is no longer split between game modes and will now use the higher 1.5-second immobile in all modes.
August 08, 2017 Path of Fire pre-patch:
  • This skill now grants 3 seconds of swiftness when cast, in addition to its previous effects.

  • This skill has been unsplit from PvP and will now use a 900 maximum range.
  • Immobilize duration has been increased from 1 second to 1.5 seconds game-wide.
December 13, 2016
  • The range of this ability has been increased from 600 to 900 in PvP only.
  • Immobilize duration has been increased from 1 second to 1.5 seconds in PvP only.

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Infiltrator's Return from becoming available when the skill was used in midair.

  • This skill will no longer activate if a valid path to the target cannot be found.
