Auric Basin Insight: Burnisher Quarry is a mastery insight in Auric Basin that requires Itzel Poison Lore mastery to complete.

Heart of Maguuma

Getting there[edit]

Note: The Itzel Poison Lore mastery is recommended.

Option 1

Enter Burnisher Quarry from Waypoint (map icon).png Northwatch Waypoint by Ley Line Gliding or by Nuhoch Wallows South of Waypoint (map icon).png Wanderer's Waypoint. Follow the route towards the Hero point.png Burnisher Quarry hero challenge, but at the point where you find a Hylek sitting guard, head south instead. Jump down off the edge to the mastery insight below.

Option 2

Starting from Waypoint (map icon).png Northwatch Waypoint, go to Northwatch Priory Camp and head east along the path, passing under two large roots. Jump up the root with mushrooms as the path forks. On the right side of the landing, use Ley Line Gliding to glide across the ley line to a cave. Run past the Coztic Itzel enemies and jump down to the mastery insight.

Before communing and accepting the mastery point
By reaching this point in Tyria, you've demonstrated your mastery in navigating the world.
Talk more option tango.png Commune with this place of power.
After communing
You have reached a locus of power.
(If Aurora II: Empowering is active, you have a Xunlai Electrum Ingot in your inventory, and you have not yet received Poisoned Electrum)
Talk give option tango.png Infuse a Xunlai electrum ingot with the power of this location.
Talk end option tango.png You've gained all you can from this place of power.

  • While it possible to get this mastery point without Itzel Poison Lore, it is recommended to unlock the mastery first. The poison in the area can interrupt you from channeling to get the Mastery, and can even kill players who stay there long enough.
  • Mesmers, if their timing is good, can open a portal right as they begin casting the mastery and take portal at the same time, then retake portal back right before the cast ends, thus avoiding the need for Itzel Poison Lore.
