Region

This article is about regions within the playable zones in the open world. For regional divisions of game servers (worlds), see World.
A region is a named collection of different types of locations, including cities, explorable zones, and instanced areas.

Mechanical regions[edit]
These regions exist in the game's code to determine your location for certain achievements or to choose the character's background in the character selection screen. The mechanical region for each zone can be uncovered with the maps API.
