Request for addition of Launch kite baskets full of water balloons[edit]

2: { name: "Kite Baskets", link: "Launch kite baskets full of water balloons", chatlink: "[&BBwHAAA=]", bg: [ 66,200,215] },

Starts 15 min before Participate in the treasure hunt! (xx:15), duration 10 min. Added in Festival of the Four Winds 2024. — Sol Solus (talk) 19:02, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Request for addition of Great Hall Domain of Istan[edit]

Domain of Istan Waypoint: [&BAkLAAA=] Chalon Docks Waypoint POI: Warden's Quarters [&BB4LAAA=] Starts at 20 minutes past every even hour UTC (e.g. 00:20, 2:20, 04:20, etc)

It's already there, third from the bottom. —Ventriloquist 16:04, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
It only has Palawadan, not the Great Hall. -BuffsEverywhere (talk) 16:15, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
There's a comment midway down this page stating it's every hour. If I afk in this map long enough i'll find out and confirm. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:45, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
I don't get it. It's 19:08, and the Sunspear Uprising meta event is finished with 2 minutes remaining. I still think this is instance based.
Changed instances and found one that hasn't started and is about ready to start at ~19:10.
edit: here's another at 19:27!
I'm thinking the pre-event starts at 18:50 and if everyone afk's it auto-completes in 30 min, otherwise it's done early. Since this is so very dependent on how busy the map is I'm standing by my original decision not to add this timer. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:12, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Found a map where tje pre-event started at about 19:45. (i.e. more like hourly... seems more likely it just has an event cooldown once completed) -94.6.135.157 19:48, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Event stay up if none one do that or don't spawns at all but timer it's that I wrote
"smiley, Today at 4:26 AM: @ChieftainAlex i can confirm that palawadan is every hour - just go to istan and join the farm train, preferably one that hops maps (EU commanders Batioo and Waxger are there often)" tempted to delete istan entirely. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 06:59, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Request for the addition of Automated Tournaments[edit]

The table at Automated Tournaments#Event schedule is hard to read because it doesn't sort in chronological order and doesn't have 12-hour times. Adding them here would be much more helpful, and may also encourage more people to participate. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 06:15, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Every other event on the timer repeats after 24 hours and as such is hardcoded instead of calculated on the fly.
Automated Tournaments repeat after 23 hours and as such change every day, resulting in 24 variants making it unsuitable to share the same code as the other timers. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 13:39, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/05/29[edit]

Could "Compact view" be the same as it is now, but in a lighter shade, you see the name of the map in the background of the box. Would make it compact without losing crucial information. Currently, compact view means you don't get important info like what map it takes place in. That's the only reason why I cannot use compact view...

--Derigar (talk) 11:21, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
(for my own information for later, this comment referred to an earlier version of the event timer - compact now displays headings to the left) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:09, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

The Elon Riverlands timer needs to show more details[edit]

Such as, what time Augury Rock closes after the Josso Essher event is over. And more importantly (for the Hero's Choice Chest), when the Doppelganger spawns.
This is a very weird meta where the rewards are split up in 2 parts. Also, with the most recent updates to PoF metas, which events have had their Elegy Mosaic rewards increased? Only Josso Essher or only the Doppelganger? Or both? --180.129.52.241 17:53, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

I wasn't aware it was the Doppelganger portion that awarded the hero's choice chest - definitely good to include then. I've estimated the times and added a separate bit for the Doppelganger since your comment waas added.
From my own experience on a really busy map the meta takes the following times:
I don't know how long the wild magic event is but I've tweaked the Doppelganger event to show as first active at xx+1:05 until xx+1:25. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:09, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/06/01[edit]

Minor bug with the new widget. When closing the top-most of each category, e.g. Lake Doric or Verdant Brink, it'll hide the category heading. --Ojimaru (talk) 02:22, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

I realised that this would happen and that it wouldn't be fixed until you pressed apply/revisited the page, but didn't think this would be that annoying. Clearly I was wrong so I've updated it a bit so it redraws everything... --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:54, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Expansion headers[edit]

Currently they disappear if we hide the first event row (e.g. Lake Doric in Living world season 3), even if we keep other rows from this expansion (like Ley-line anomaly). But if we hide the second, third etc. row, the header remains. It would be more correct to keep the header if any event row from its regions is shown, and remove only if all rows are hidden. --91.77.248.45 08:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Category header now sticks to the top entry (per above), if you've moved the top row elsewhere into the midst of another expansion, you should probably think about hiding the category headings manually. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:54, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Request for timestamps at the bottom of the event list[edit]

Seeing as the events still show more than one full screen at 1080p 100%, it would be nice to have the time stamps doubled at the bottom as well to have them more easily accessible for the maps at the bottom of the list. Kahera (talk) 15:14, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

There's more than enough options to show times in different ways atm. Either untick the "compact times" box, or leave it checked and drag the time row downwards. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 15:41, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/06/02[edit]

Change it back, please. Was fine the way it was. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.117.169.86 (talk) at 04:38, 3 June 2019‎ (UTC).

With the additional content that Anet added to be on timers, the page needed an overhaul. We're also now able to cater to people who have access to different content (e.g. HoT, LW3, etc.).
Please note the options at the bottom of the timers. You can customize the timers to look very much like the previous versions. For example, I'm enjoying the compact view and hiding the headings. Greener (talk) 04:59, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

Request for addition of Sandswept Isles and dragonfall[edit]

As said above, can be automatized for Sandswept Isles: Specimen chamber and Zohaqan, for Dragonfall I'm not sure considering that the meta doesn't start until someone escort the three first exploration squads from pact outpost.. --Inquest Overseer Ezrielia (talk) 18:52, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

From my experience both, Specimen chamber and Zohaqan are on instance based timers (1h after completion for both, Zohaqan can be "stalled" forever, if no one is doing the event), rather than a global timer, which makes them unsuitable for a timer on the wiki. Did this change, and if it changed, can you provide the interval times? Almdudler (talk) 19:12, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Sure, will re check tommorow how the meta works -Ezrielia
To echo Almdudler, these are instance based and are not globally on the same timer. (e.g. you can find different instances in lfg at different progress points; the map resets when they finish) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:48, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Oki thanks , did some research I may add them on the specimen chamber event page:

00h00: 7 min timer, 00h08 kuda start 1 min after timer, a 14 min timer start. Finished it at 00h14, at 00h39 a 15 min timer start, at 00h54 the meta restart. Yeah np surely instance based -Ezrielia

Custom arrangement keep resetting[edit]

In the last 5 days any event I hide or rearrange resets after a day or so, it makes the entire thing useless to me if I can't even track the only events I do. This didn't happen until recently, so maybe someone broke something somewhere? --Alukah (talk) 21:29, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Lol. I think you've visited Meta-Event Rush + because i've had to salvage this timer and delete some stuff, i failed to rename some of the preferences stored. I'll see if I can figure it out. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:33, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
should have fixed it. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:37, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Hey thank you! It does seem to be related to visiting the meta event rush page, though it's still resetting after your fix, tested in both Firefox and Chrome. Alukah (talk) 22:55, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
I was getting the same bug as you, shit testing on my part. I've purged the wiki cache on both pages, both widgets and the template page. It now seems to be resolved. Lemme know if I still fucked up. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:03, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Working perfectly now, thank you! Alukah (talk) 23:50, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Wouldn't be too difficult to add. Seems a bit forgetful to me to need to check the wiki whether you've killed a world-boss today or not though.

Feedback 2019/09/18[edit]

Hi thank you for all you do to keep up the wiki, it's super helpful! I was wondering if you can take the time stamp bar at the top of the event timer and repeat it at the bottom too, since the list of areas is so long now that when I scroll down to Grothmar Valley the time stamp bar is off the screen and I'm not sure what the times are. Thank you for considering this! --68.193.138.56 22:51, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

I've tweaked all of the event times a bit, not totally sure but it seems to be Ooze Pit = xx:05, Concert = xx:39, Effigy = xx+1:10, Doomlore = xx+1:38 I'll do the events again at the weekend to see when the actual events start as opposed to the dialogue. Might be neater than that. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:08, 19 September 2019 (UTC)

Re order?[edit]

Maybe put them in reverse release order so the newest ones are on top? 47.186.44.99

I did recently propose this very idea in the gw2w discord, didn't get much agreement though. For the time being you can actually drag + rearrange + delete rows as you wish. I might think about yet another checkbox to reverse the order. --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 06:16, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/10/03[edit]

Firstly, let me say how useful the Event Timer is!

I have one suggestion to improve it visually. That is to colour each event panel under a heading in varying tones of the same colour to both improve the look and enhance the ease as which specific events can be identified. For example, under the Heart of Thorns heading, the Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, Tangled Depths and Dragon's Stand meta event timer panels could all be varying tones of green. For the Path of Fire, similarly one could use varying tones of pink. And so on for the event timers under the other headings. I think doing so it would mean at a glance one could focus in immediately on the meta/area they're interested in, as currently the page has a little bit of a random patchwork/random rainbow feel to it that does not seem to hold to any particular colour theme, especially now that we have so many different event timers going on - something that was not an issue in the past.

I hope you find this useful, thanks again for a useful page!

Hi. I've setup a test in User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox. If you feel like doing so, can you modify the CSS (by pressing edit at the top of the page) and change the colours as you see fit). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 06:27, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Brilliant, thank you. That looks a lot clearer already, I'll have a little play around with the colouring. I hope it's to your liking. Reverielle (talk) 03:54, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/11/22 - Bjora Marches (East meta)[edit]

Idris is suggesting on Discord that the times may be off:

Idris
getting feedback from ingame that the event timer for Bjora Marches might be inaccurate
it shows specific lengths of time for each section of the meta, but apparently they can be done faster than what the timer shows

Almdudler
I mean, that's the case for some other metas too, DS, Grothmar Valley, basically every core meta(boss).
or did I get something wrong?

Idris
the trouble is that this one is displaying three sections; usually when our timers do that they're referring to events that spawn at set times and can't be forced to spawn early
whereas these events apparently end as soon as players do them, so it's not appropriate for the timer to show them as starting at set times
had a guy in map chat being confused that the meta was down despite the timer claiming otherwise

<Discord User>
There's a 5 minute repair/setup event before the first event the timer has currently. That appears fixed in time so maybe that could be shown? (Event Name: Help prepare Jora's Keep defenses for an icebrood attack .)

to investigate at the weekend, as I was under the impression that the first event had a duration of 10 or 12 minutes, not five. --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:26, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

The above feedback was me reporting what I'd heard from another player. Having had a chance to actually play a few metas myself, it seems like the first two events do run on a set timer and can't be finished early. Despite that, I've entered a bunch of maps that didn't have the meta active at the time it was supposed to -- note that by "not active" I specifically mean "never started", as opposed to succeeded or failed -- not sure what's going on here, but I suspect it might be the case that these maps are newly-spawned shards that don't have the meta active due to being created after it began. —Idris User Idris signature.png 13:46, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Drakkar - Bjora Marches[edit]

Meta just started :05. —Kvothe (talk) 09:07, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

At the moment, the event timer reads that the Eastern meta begins at UTC (xx+1):35 and ends at xx:10.
Existing timer info:
  bm: {
    category: "The Icebrood Saga",

Should the See also section mention maps that contain meta events that do not occur on a set timer, such as Dragon Stand? --Joecat (talk) 21:13, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

Dragon's Stand specifically has timer, but even otherwise I am against. There are just way too many such maps to list them. DJemba (talk) 21:42, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

Page regularly forgets which timers are hidden[edit]

I visit the page every few weeks, but each time it forgets which timers I have hidden on previous visits. (The hiding persist over page refreshes during the same visit.) -- kazerniel (talk) 19:20, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Are you perhaps deleting your browser cookies? ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 19:26, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Preferences are stored for this widget using HTML5 localStorage. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9948284/how-persistent-is-localstorage for the details - on Firefox it'll empty the storage when you clear your cookies, on Chrome it'll just stay there until you clear the cache. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:48, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm not deleting cookies. (Using Waterfox Classic btw.) The site remembers my login status and my API key, only this page seems to not do it. -- kazerniel (talk) 10:08, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
Ok well if you're using an older browser port that isn't one of the mainstream stuff, there's a decent chance it forgetting the localStorage data is related. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:39, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly[edit]

Is there a reason that the Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly timeline isn't included on the page? Comanche (talk) 19:53, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Do a CTRL+F search for "Ley-Line Anomaly". It's on the page.

Dragonstorm public[edit]

I believe the Dragonstorm public instance (80 players from Eye of the North) opens every odd hour UTC. User Judas Sig.pngudas 23:02, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

That's correct. The times have been on Brek Harrowflight so far. Nightsky (talk) 14:58, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Feedback 2021/04/28[edit]

Is the Dragonstorm public instance timer going to be added here too?--Mazingoman (talk) 14:02, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Ofcorse it will be. First we need to find out how the timer works and then we can add it. If you have more informations share it with us so we could add it on wiki quicker. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 14:20, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
I actually wasn't going to add it because it's not a usual open world event but an instance instead but if everyone want's to see this added surely it can be done. Guess i'll be staying in the EotN now to see how long the window to join the instance is. Nightsky (talk) 14:58, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
You have Dragonstorm (stroy) and Dragonstorm (Private) which can be started all the time just need a squad for it. And then you have Dragonstorm (Public) wich is suppose to be every 2h. That one I belive could be added into the event timer. Technicaly its PVE accesable all the time in private, you can just leave your character there and when you log back in you will not be kicked. That way you can just do it over and over again in "public" version without waiting for the timer anyway. Its up to if you want to add it or not but it is not an instane I belive ... maybe. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 15:35, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
I already added it now. If needed it can still be changed/removed again. (Wasn't all to sure about where to have it link to and also not weather or not to include the (Public) bit from the API into the name or not, though the later i could resolve rather fast, since there's no Dragonstorm (Public) page, so it would have been a red link.) Nightsky (talk) 15:59, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
The Dragonstorm page we have should be moved to Dragonstorm (story) and another should be made for the "event" itself with public/private in it. The same way we have just 1 DRM page with public/private mentions. Thank you for adding it :3 --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 16:04, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Just small thing Ive noticed . The "event" lasts for 30 min. So if you are quick enough you can do 2 of them with diferent characters. It should also be ending at xx:30 on the timer. Thank you <3 --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 21:43, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
From what i can tell from waiting outside the instance in the EotN, and granted it was only that one time, entering the instance is only offered untill xx:20 every odd server time/UTC hour. So while the event may last untill xx:30 (which is what i'm assuming you mean, though i can't quite tell if i'm understanding it right (Was the instance available until xx:30 in EotN for you?)), i feel like it would be confusing if it were indicated that way, then someone might wonder why they can't enter; though on the other hand the same also holds the other way arround, someone might wonder why it's still going on even though it looked like it would end there. Nightsky (talk) 02:09, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
At xx:00 I went inside with my thief to do the event. Finished at xx:26. Quickly swapped on my Ele so I could do it again and yes I was able to go inside because the NPC allowed to me join public. So I assume the option to join public version of that event lasts for half hour maybe more. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 08:22, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
You could join/swap because the instance locks depending on the event progress, NOT time. ~Sime 09:59, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
In Eye of the North ? Based on the progress ? What ? Now Im not following that. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 10:10, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
The public instance locks based on the event progress in THAT particular instance. If the instance you are joining hasn't moved to that phase yet, it will be joinable in EoTN (till the whole event timer ends I guess). ~Sime 10:15, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes we are talking about the timer of not the event itself inside the instance but the option of join the public instance . The chat option at Brek Harrowflight himself. That option to join public version should only be 30 min what I have seen. And based on that the timer on wiki should be extended till xx:30 in my oppinion. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 10:24, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Alright, I guess I misread and was commenting on the *not* important part, sorry. I agree with the extension. Other events have it as well, like Augury Rock (doppel) for example. ~Sime 10:28, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
I've been there again and it stopped being available at xx:20 again for me. The first timer that appears (after the cutscene (started at ~xx:12 in this particular instance)) also appears to be only 15 minutes long. Were you in a squad by any chance as you were able to rejoin after xx:20? Could it be it's active for 20 minutes also in a new instance so if you were able to join maybe that particular instance of EotN was created late and the 20 minutes carried into after xx:26? Seems to me it's fixed and not based on the progress of the Dragonstorm instance available from within EotN. It seems to create more Dragonstorm instances as needed and put you wherever is space regardless from whichever instance of EotN one joins from. Nightsky (talk) 15:32, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Shouldnt been changed . There was no updated between yesterday and today. About EotN instances well no idea. I didnt had time to look on ips beacause I rushed to do the event again immedaitely. Strange. The only thing as prove I have is a friend who were "racing" to do 2 events in the same hour and was lucky enough to get the asc gs ! Hate him for it xD. Thats all I got sadly =( --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 16:06, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you'd need a prove for. I'm not trying to say that you could not have possibly been able to join again after xx:20. I wouldn't be surprised if there'd be some weird interaction with the event and new instances or something. I doubt that that was/is the normal cycle of the event though. It to me seems to have been an exception that it was available then, though the reason as to why it was i too can only guess about. But it doesn't seem to have been "normal". From what i can tell so far at least. Could very well be wrong; though i don't know that. Nightsky (talk) 16:29, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
xx:20 the event ends. Dont know why I was able to do it in xx:26 but now it literally dissapered in xx:20. Even have a vid for prove if need be --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 17:23, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Dragonstorm and The Twisted Marionette[edit]

I'm not quite sure what exactly's going on but it seems that the week long available every two hour Marionette public instance took the place of the Dragonstorm public instance. That is it seems that Dragonstorm now starts every even and the Marionette every odd UTC hour/server time. Further, Dragonstorm seems to be available from that "new" (probably bugged?) starttime up untill it's "old" endtime. While the Marionette seems to be available only from it's (probably bugged since it's the usuall time of Dragonstorm) start time for 20 minutes. Oh and the event circles seem all over the place, sometimes even up while it's not possible to enter the associated instance; at least with the Marionette, it might actually be fine with Dragonstorm. Though again, not sure about anything here. It's only how it seems to be to me. Nightsky (talk) 18:49, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Seems this was accurate. See also the July 14, 2021 patch notes. The Marionette timer under Central Tyria and the Dragonstorm timer should now both be accurate; based on the patch notes. Nightsky (talk) 20:03, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
Excellent, I didn't see the patch. Sime lied! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:38, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by the later. The way you added it was accurate at the time as it predates the patch; if you're meaning - which i can't tell if you are, only assuming here - Sime told you when it is. I merely changed it following the patch so that it remains accurate for patched instances, while unpatched ones probably followed the previous times untill the forcefull kick for the patch two hours later; or three while in any instance i think. Feedback 2021/07/14[edit]

Can we add the Twisted Marionette timer from https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Twisted_Marionette_(instance)

Nevermind - just hit refresh. It has been added

What happened to the Marionette timer?[edit]

It's gone

The public event as announced initially was only planed to last for one week (See the patch notes for the day of the release.) and stopped occuring after that one week. Thus the timer for it was hidden because it is no longer availabe at present. However, ArenaNet stated that the public instance will return after they've implemented some improvements to it which they hope is possible to be managed to be done by late summer. For further details and the exact wordings see the forum post. So for now you can ignore the event circle that still appears in game every now and again as the public instance isn't available even if the event circle is trying to indicate so. Meanwhile the private instance - even though not on public rotation likely without the improvement yet - is still available in the interrim. Nightsky (talk) 23:52, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

Considering how most of the the events have daily rewards logged in the API, would it be possible to integrate this into the ET, greying out events that you've earned the daily for already? --Prezombie (talk) 11:58, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Afaik this is only applicable via API:2/worldbosses to the world bosses (2nd row) and hard world bosses (3rd row), and none of the other events have this ability to be tracked via the API?
If you want to make a prototype version with js (or a mock up in paint) of what you want and how it'd work, feel free, the source code is on Widget:Event timer.
If we used similar to what we do on other widgets with the account key, might it not be a bit confusing for users if it only tracks the completion progress of 2 of 22 rows?
How would progres be shown, would elements be grayed out, would they be struck through etc. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:04, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Feedback 2021/11/07[edit]

The event timers for eastern Bjora Marshes aren't clear in context to the names of the events/meta.

Currently the Pre-Event for the Storm is named "Raven Shrines" and the first event in the meta chain is called "[Group Event] Help prepare Jora's Keep defenses for an icebrood attack (80)".

A simple change to help fix any confusions might be to rename this slightly.

"Defend Jora's Keep" instead of simply "Raven Shrines". This more clearly conveys in the timeline, the start of the event, context of the event, and when the defense preperations begin.

The Aspenwood Research Facility / God's Vengeance meta-event happens in Echowald at :40 of the hour after the other meta (Gang War). Being quite a big event chain and timed every 2 hours, I'd say it deserves a spot on Echowald's timer line. But I can't find how to edit timers. Eowin (talk) 16:05, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
It's the start of the Canthan night. I added the events into the wiki, if someone needs more info on what is discussed. Time limits for the events are 15 (6 generators) + 15 (champions) + 10 (main boss) + 10 (loot) = 50 minutes at maximum. Here's the event chain. The event also rewards one big chest to loot per day in addition to four smaller ones. WormholeGo ahead and talk. ≈ 21:25, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Cantha Day/Night is backwards[edit]

Since the addition of the event timer for EoD on the wiki, it has been the opposite from what I observe in game. IE: it currently says Day, but I am in game, and it is definitely night. I've confirmed that my time offset is correct, is there another setting somewhere that I have wrong, that explains why the day/night is flipped? Thank you. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.147.218.95 (talk) at 14:10, 17 March 2022‎ (UTC).

I do not have this issue. The next time you check that, could you post here : the time it is for you (including your timezone, please), what time it is ingame (type /time in chat), which map you are in, and if it's day or night ? This should help determining what's going on. Aralicia (talk) 17:21, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

VB Night bosses start at 00:09:30, not 00:10:00[edit]

I don't have edit permissions. To whomever has edit access, please update the Verdant Brink night boss schedule time to start at 00:09:30, instead of 00:10:00. It is easy to confirm that these bosses spawn 30 seconds before the listed time.

Feedback 2022/04/16[edit]

The timers page has become very large vertically, which can make it hard to use. A solution might be to combine items that never overlap to save space, and it would make some lines less empty looking. Without breaking categories, these could be:

  • Crystal Oasis and Desert Highlands
  • Istan and Jahai
  • Seitung and Kaineng
  • Dragon Storm and Marionette (as public instanced content)

The Battle for Dragonfall[edit]

The Battle for Dragonfall has no timer on the internet that I can find. I would like to know when it will start and end so I know when to stop and or restart playing the game. This event is the worst event I have seen in the game due to it being a forced event that does not give credit for achievements. Explanation as to why I hate this event: I am playing local events to earn achievements so I can get my Skyscale mount. several times I have almost completed an event or I have almost killed a boss and out of nowhere I am dragged into The Battle for Dragonfall event. I am sent back to the North-East corner of the island and I get no credit for my hard work or time I spent playing. This does not happen in other Meta Events such as the Silverwastes. In the Silverwastes the big meta event starts but I can still finish what I am doing and I can choose weather to participate or not. So If you are going to set up the game this way and hijack our play time, please do us the courtesy of letting us know when it will happen. If this is not possible then please sell me a device such as the world boss portal device or the ley line one that will let me know when it is coming up so I can stop working for nothing. Thanks

A couple things:
  1. Dragonfall has a different timer for each instance of the map, so the start and end times depend entirely on your instance, we can't therefore put it on this timer (nor can there be a device for it).
  2. We are just players like you, we can't change anything about the game; if you want to give feedback to Anet, I recommend the game's official forums.
  3. For the teleport specifically, that one is on a very long visible timer, you can see it on the top right of your screen.

Feedback 2022/06/20[edit]

Based on this reddit post, there might be some issues with the page rearranging itself. I asked on discord and it might be related to whenever the widget is updated? If that's true, that should be probably noted somewhere on the page, as the OP is not the only one bothered on this, based on the thread. ~Sime 00:17, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Replied on reddit as follows.
There are two designed mechanisms on the Event timer widget where it'll reset the order.
1) Invalidation of the stored sequence due to a widget update - the timer stores the version of the timer alongside the bar sequence within HTML5 localStorage. This is required such that when a new map is added, people's sequence preferences don't prevent the new line from appearing.
2) The user presses the reset button. This resets the value of the localStorage sequences to the default.
Since the timer is dependent on localStorage, which is session persistent, it's also affected if a user removes their localStorage data.
3) The user deletes their own localStorage data unintentionally. Typically this is by a user clearing their own storage at the same time as their cookies, or if they use a private browsing session.
Since 2+3 are caused by the user, I'm going to assume that the issue here is 1. We need to manually update the widget when special events start to let it show stuff like Halloween. However, maybe we can smarten up the logic it uses to decide if the sequence needs invalidating. I'll take a look.
In terms of issue 1, do you guys actually know what happens when the version number changes? Maybe there's a smarter way to invalidate version-sequence. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 04:53, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Game updates/2022-07-19[edit]

Per Game updates/2022-07-19#Living World Season 1—Clockwork Chaos it looks like there's another 2 hour event. I suggest this appears on the same line as Marionette, but I don't have the start time yet. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:51, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

I agree. If it doesn't overlap with marionette it should be on the same line, maybe renamed "Watchwork Events" or something. It would help the line seem less empty. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Void2258 (talk) at 18:38, 19 July 2022‎ (UTC).
I was going to go with "Living World Season 1". :) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:44, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
Timer is the same as for 'Dragonstorm' or 'The Battle for Jade sea'. As for the title, wouldn't "Living World Season 1" be too general as this meta event is directly tied to LW1 - Chapter 3. I'd suggest "Scarlet's Minions Invade!" or "Clockworld Chaos". Libella (talk) 07:43, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
If this is listed shouldn't the awakened invasions from LW4 also be on the timer somewhere? Basically the same thing just in several rotating locations. Void2258 (talk)
Fair point, added under LWS4 as "ai". -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:46, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
For some reason it only has the height of day/night lines. —Kvothe (talk) 22:13, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
I think that's on purpose? It doesn't have any waypoints so no need for it to take the same space as other entries do. ~Sime 22:16, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) That'd be because I didn't specify a waypoint, due to the waypoint changing on a non-24 hour repeating pattern (adding a waypoint or rotating bit of code would probably break the lookahead functions). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:17, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Request for adding tyrian time for events[edit]

Tyrian time can be accessed by /time in-game chat so players will have better organization in lfg when they join from across timezones The preceding unsigned comment was added by Crystalpaladin (talk) at 11:57, 27 September 2022‎ (UTC).

Merging EotN promoted events in a single line[edit]

Right now, Twisted Marionette and Dragonstorm (like a few others) each have their own line, which isn't very optimal in terms of space usage or showing the succession of all meta-events in the game. It originally makes sense as they're part of different categories : LS1 and LS5 (aka IBS). However, Anet has made it clear that they're both part of a common rotation which will soon be extended : "The Battle for Lion’s Arch and the Tower of Nightmares will also be added to the regular rotation of promoted events in the Eye of the North, joining Dragonstorm and the Twisted Marionette.". In my opinion, it would make sense to reflect that in the ET page and regroup all 4 events in a single line showing that rotation. Eowin (talk) 22:36, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Today's update notes make it clear again : it's a single 2-hours rotation, so imho it should be one line here. "The Battle for Lion's Arch and the Tower of Nightmares can now also be accessed from the Eye of the North, and both have been added to the two-hour rotation of promoted events alongside Twisted Marionette and Dragonstorm." Eowin (talk) 17:21, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Dry Top link[edit]

Hi. The "Dry Top" title links to the regular DT map page. I think that, being linked from Event Timers, it would make more sense to redirect that link to the event schedule details that didn't fit in ET page : https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dry_Top/event_table Eowin (talk) 22:38, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Living World Season 1[edit]

Hya. Now when the Battle of LA was added into the game it should also be added into the timer . We got 19:30 and 21:30 (UTC+1) for the Battle. 20:30 and 22:30 (UTC+1) for the Tower of Nightmare public instancions. We can also merge thse timers together to have just 1 line of these 3 events. And lastly because its really long list on the talk page. Could someone who takes care of it place the older solved issues into achive ? Thank you --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 19:31, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

Second-ing this request. Currently the only way for novices to see this timer is to search Battle for Lion's Arch > Disambiguation > instanced version > Event schedule for Eye of the North. Please add that timer to this page. Thank you. --Clara Fee (talk) 13:14, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Well it was added the first day I requested it. But then based on the origin point it was merged with the rest of the Eye of the North instances into one timer bar. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 20:07, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Feedback 2022/11/20[edit]

Is it possible to make the headings collapsible? For example, clicking the Core Tyria heading would collapse the 5 categories below it, and display the Living World Season 1 heading directly below, and so on. --Clara Fee (talk) 14:08, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

my time zone is wrong need help fixing it --95.145.0.85 04:08, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Daylight saving recently changed, it might be that you need to do a browser cache refresh (CTRL+F5). The wiki should be collecting the time from your computer - does it match (is the computer also wrong?) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:30, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Feedback 2023/07/11[edit]

I love that I can remove timers that I don't care about. Would it be possible to have a functionality to re-add removed timers one by one instead of resetting the whole view. I might need to do a specific boss or specific event for a collection, so I would like to add this event back to the view.

If you have firefox you can open dev tools, go to Storage, navigate to Local Storage, and under the key-value pair for "event-timer-sequence", you can edit the string stored. When you refresh the page it'll re-add it. Otherwise, no intended way. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:03, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

Replace with feedback text. --86.142.247.160 12:31, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

People are still turning up at Triple Trouble at unscheduled times because it says it is running on this wiki world timer only to be disappointed, confused and have their time wasted. If it isn't an organised run like it says on tripletrouble.today website then the event will be a fail and people should be warned.

The wiki is not making any judgements on if the event will fail, succeed, or be organized. The timer simply states whenever the event spawns. No reason to change it, and you seem to be severely misunderstanding the purpose of a wiki given your argumentation. Inni (talk) 12:35, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Feedback 2023/10/16[edit]

Can you add a bar for Secrets of Obscure day/night? For fishing dawn & dusk I can't find anything online that states whether SoO is on Tyria or Cantha time. Currently it looks like it's on Cantha time on this Event Timer. Please help!

It uses tyria day/night, you can move the rows up/down if it helps. --ItVictor (talk) 23:38, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

TYVM!

Fly by night and Target practice are cross linked[edit]

If I'm seeing correctly, The link towards Fly by night goes to Target practice and visa versa. Could you please correct this please? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Axleody (talk) at 16:17, 22 October 2023 (UTC).

I've had a look.
-Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:26, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
I've edited the link for the third one to Adventure#Secrets of the Obscure instead of picking one or the other. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:32, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Request for the addition of Public Convergences[edit]

As documented on the page for Convergences, they run every 3 hours, offset 1.5 hours from server reset. So 1.5h after reset, 4.5h after reset, etc.

Feedback 2024/01/25[edit]

Can we change "Chak Gerent" to "Jungle King (Chak Gerent)" since the Wizard Vault references "Jungle King" as the meta-event objective? Thanks!

Tanetris has corrected the page link which was pointing at a redirect, however I agree that the title should remain the same "Chak Gerent" as nobody calls it "jungle king" in lfg. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
Rarely anyone calls "The Battle for the Jade Sea" anything other than "Dragon's End meta". And we have "Ley Line Anomaly" called "Timberline Falls" for some reason here. :D So, some clarification probably won't hurt. --Genie (talk) 00:19, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
Could do "Anomaly: <zone>"? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:06, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
The LLA labeling is fine as is, it's an exception because it's only one single event as opposed to the other rows which are for maps with (potentially) multiple events. The rest should use the ingame nams only as that's easier to recognize at a first glance. In addition the TD meta text (and the NPC itself) specifically call the boss the Chak Gerent so I see the Wizard's Vault naming as an exception and we should use the more "widespread" ingame name. --ItVictor (talk) 09:18, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Feedback 2024/03/03[edit]

Do we have a page where I can find a nice clean table with the next spawn time listed in it? If so, can we add a reference to it on this page?

I appreciate what this page is trying to do but I find it increasingly horrible to read as time has gone on, I thought it might just be me, but I've had this mentioned to me when I've shared this page with people I'm trying to introduce to the game.

It is especially annoying in the case of things like Convergences where it doesn’t even show at certain hours due to it being on a timer larger than 2 hours.

I am not asking for anything complex btw just something like:

Caption text
Event Next Spawn Spawn Interval
Example Example Example

Mobile UX[edit]

Is there anything that can be done to improve the mobile user experience on this page, specifically the vertical orientation? Clara Fee (talk) 18:10, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

Event Timers not showing up on Mobile[edit]

Since the maintenance, none of the event timers load on the ET page, or any of the actual event's individual pages. The only information showing is the clock timeline. 174.242.38.78 11:48, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

Known issue, the fix for Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Reporting wiki bugs#Missing widget styles - mobile has been diagnosed, tested and is being rolled out tomorrow morning. Just sit tight for now, if it still occurs in 18 hours time then let me know and we'll investigate further. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:43, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
This is now sorted, any issues, reply here or on GW2W:BUG. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:25, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Can the event timers have function to hide certain categories (example: I only want to see core tyria and eod events, the rest hidden with a +/- option) --46.10.251.99 16:56, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

This function exists. There's an X on the right side of each row to make them go away. It's part of your saved preferences, so if you ever want them back, just hit the Reset Saved Preferences button. - Tanetris (talk) 21:46, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Feature Request: Checkbox to make the top time bar sticky.[edit]

The size of the full event table now exceeds that of a typical window. It would be nice to have an option to make the top timeline sticky so that I could more easily compare the time of events for the middle categories when deciding what to do. Crossxwolf (talk) 01:59, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

#event-wrapper.toptimes.stickytimes .event-bar-container.t {
  position: sticky;
  top: 0px;
  z-index: 2;
}

.stickytimes .event-bar-segment.t0 {
  background-color: (something)
}
This could be done. I'll add it when I get the time. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 05:16, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Done and set as the default. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:20, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

No problem, it was your idea afterall. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:32, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
Doesn't work very well on the Vector skin because the top of the page is already sticky and covers up the times. --Draconicrose (talk) 18:27, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
Added a small offset for vector-2022, which I hadn't checked. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:04, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

any1 else use opera? the page loads but i cant see the timers LLayr

Quick navigation?[edit]

Would it be possible to add a quick navigation to the sidebar? Sort of a contents widget with the category names as their headings. As we get more content the page becomes less and less scrollable.

GW2 Wiki suggestion[edit]

Can I please have a dark mode for the website? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.39.219.69 (talk) at 07:43, 12 October 2024‎ (UTC).

Not sure why you're asking here, but there are theme options if you make an account (or you can use a browser extension like dark reader). --ItVictor (talk) 08:43, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
Since its not super obvious, we've made the Help:Appearance page (can be found by searching as an anon user for "dark mode" or "dark theme"). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:24, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
