Welcome and Thanks![edit]

Hi there (and a belated welcome, since it looks like no one ever welcomed you properly!), thanks for uploading the norn male preview images for Marjory's Shrouded Outfit, and for particularly for adding the {{armor gallery image}} template! See you around and happy wiki-ing! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 17:28, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Pets[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to drop by to thank you for the work you've done on the newly-released pets! Uploading the icons helps a bunch, and documenting everything you know about them is always appreciated. Keep it up! —Ventriloquist 12:55, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Thank You[edit]

Thank you for going over my edit attepmts and tidying them up and adding the item id's as couldn't get my head around those Lady Elyssa (talk) 22:28, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Before you go crazy...[edit]

I'm setting up my bot to fix the NPC infoboxes to have semicolons instead of commas as there's likely to be a lot, so don't worry about that for now. I do appreciate you doing those though as that let me know that Alex's bot missed stuff, so thanks! - Doodleplex 19:46, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know too. I was checking the Wanted page and noticed two weird location pages with high amount of links, so just wanted to correct it. Sime (talk) 19:56, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Oh jesus what did I miss. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:58, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Looks like mostly story NPCs and risen. Most notably, the NPC infobox template itself hehe. Also Alex...my bot is already running right now doing the fixes, don't worry about doing it manually. XD - Doodleplex 20:03, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Given I scanned through 19000 pages by hand with DPL, I guess I pressed next 500 and skipped a page or two. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:15, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Should be all fixed now, both NPCs and objects. Anything from here on out would be created by users used to using commas/the old format methinks. - Doodleplex 21:40, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
I'll take that as tacit permission to do exactly so ; ). Thanks for taking on that list, Alex, and for everyone keeping an eye on things as it went. G R E E N E R 22:02, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Pretty Picure[edit]

Just wanted to say that's a lovely picture of Vlast. =) - Doodleplex 18:39, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Thank you, it involved begging my friend to not run directly into one rogue god so I could make the screenshot. He wasn't really keen about it. Sime (talk) 20:21, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

mastery insight on the pot of soup[edit]

Hi, you just changed the pot of soup to go back to maguuma mastery insight and even added a specifically green icon (unnecessary, it should be automatic with the mastery insight type). I'll have to revert that. I'm in the process of editing the templates to make it work with PoF mastery insights and automatically have the purple icon. The whole reason the green icon was gone was because I changed type to PoF but my template change didn't work yet. If it still doesn't work after my next edit, feel free to help me manage the template thingy (I'm not used to that) but plz don't change it back to HoT icon. Eowin (talk) 11:09, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Hey, yeah I changed it because I didn't notice the template (that you said you are working on). Sorry! :) Sime (talk) 11:43, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
OK :-). For some reason I didn't get it to work, even if it's apparently simpler than the one for NPCs which I got working properly for Creator Jadi (had to do several changes to the npc template, services list, vendor icon template ... and it worked magically once I was done doing the changes. For the object I only had to change the object template itself but it doesn't work. I friended all wiki admins ingame, waiting to see one to help me get this working) Eowin (talk) 12:17, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Good job though, I was eyeing the PoF masteries and insights too because of the green icon from HoT - why use it when PoF has its own icon, right? Sime (talk) 12:19, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Yeah. I catched an admin ingame, he found what was wrong and fixed the template. Now you can add "| type = Mastery insight (pof)" on objects or "| service = Mastery insight" on NPCs (those are pof-only) Eowin (talk) 16:40, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

order of shadow pictures[edit]

Hi, me again. A few hours ago I came back to work a few minutes after you started the changes. I said nothing because it made sense. But now you went destruction mode, and I regret not stopping you soon enough. Order of shadows people have very similar appearances, if not identical. Having a base "male/female order of shadows" picture is probably a good idea, and lets people create pages for all new NPCs without having to upload new images each time. But, I don't see the point in destroying the *existing* specific images for particular NPCs. Even if you assume that they look exactly the same (tbh I will not go and check all their eye colors and eyebrow shapes), they each have a map context. Not only it gives some more flavor/reality to the wiki page, but also it gives some hints as to where to find a specific NPC : let's face it, 95% of NPCs on this wiki do not have a precise location map ... as a user I very often find myself using clues in their images to help me find them once I'm in the indicated area. Librarian was pictured in front of his books, now you're setting him with what was the recruit hamdi picture (well, you tried ... now the page is broken, no image at all). Again I'm not against using the Recruit Hamdi image for all new random npcs, but I'd prefer to keep the existing image for the ones who have it already, including Librarian with his books, and the Master with his papers (there is a reason I stood there for a while to get this screenshot just when he stops in front of a table -- also he's the Master, doesn't that deserve his own image even though he has the same outfit as others ?) I hope you won't ruin the mastery npc with his chemical stuff and his mastery icon now ... Eowin (talk) 21:50, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello, we have the Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Projects/Shared Model Project, I also changed only the npcs that have the same exact appearance. I don't see a reason why these NPCs should be an exception from this project, but I am no authority on these matters on wiki.Sime (talk) 22:15, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
The page you linked explains exactly what I thought about the reasons for doing this. "This is to eliminate the need to constantly find the NPC in game and hope for a good picture, not to mention replacing badly taken photos with a good standard ones.". There is no reason to do this backward to remove existing images. The NPCS you destroyed already had an image, they didn't need to "eliminate the need to find them ingame and take a picture", and be honest the pictures I took were not "badly taken" afaik (they're all the same quality, which you used for the 2 standard models). Again, it's a good idea to use the 2 recruit screenshots as standard images for all future pages (and existing ones without an image, if any), but there is no point in replacing the existing specific images on NPCs. And I don't agree when you say "they have the same exact appearance". The NPCs themselves may have the same look, but they don't stand in the same place : I still want to see librarian in his library, master with his master paper work. Eowin (talk) 22:26, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for telling me I destroyed/ruined some pages because I followed the on-going project of unification of the pictures of shared NPCs. As I said, I am no authority and I have no say who is right or wrong on this. Next time I see your name in a page, I will avoid it for your convenience so I do not ruin it. Sime (talk) 22:31, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Nothing is being ruined, Sime is doing exactly as the project intended: to make adding pictures to NPCs easy for user to do by using one picture for all NPCs that have that same model, regardless of who they are. Additionally the pictures usually strive to have a neutral background so that it works for all NPCs, regardless of where the NPC is, because the other option was to take the background out completely as the Guild Wars 1 wiki did; in the end it was decided to go with a neutral background instead of a white one. One other note, the reason why I wrote that sentence you quoted is before the project started the majority of NPC pictures were Elder Dragon-tier awful, so no your pictures weren't badly taken, just Sime re-uploaded my image which was had better lighting. - Doodleplex 05:29, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Bounty articles[edit]

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooo much on splitting all of those up! I was meaning to do it, but always something else would come up so thank you, thank you thank you! Also you taught me something, I didn't even know we had a "event disambig" template, it's pretty darn nifty. Where or how did you find it? =o - Doodleplex 18:17, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Hey, thank you too! I found it when adding one new event in Crystal Oasis named Defeat the champion and the /wiki command brought me to this page. Sime (talk) 18:30, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Stub tag tip[edit]

Just a heads up, you don't need to put "reason=" when tagging stubs or section stubs, as long as the page type has been specified, the reason will show up on it's own. "reason=" doesn't actually do anything. ;) - Doodleplex 19:58, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the tip. Noted! Sime (talk) 20:59, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Marking pages for deletion[edit]

Just a heads up, it's better to just put a delete tag at the top of the existing content instead of replacing everything with the delete tag. (I used to make this mistake a lot too.) Keeping the original content makes it easier for folks to understand why the page was tagged for deletion. --Idris (talk) 03:47, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for another tip! I'm still learning how to do things on wiki, so it's appreciated :) Sime (talk) 11:36, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Betrothed Choya[edit]

I have a few thoughts regarding the Betrothed Noble who talks about the Betrothed Choya:

  • Quotes aren't strictly just for "interaction greetings". They're for pretty much any interaction the player can have -- getting aggro, killing them, etc. In this case, the NPC only speaks when the player approaches a very specific area of the room, which to me is a form of "interaction". So I would count it as a quote.
  • However, due to its ambiguity, I would also be happy to count it as ambient dialogue if it was on Forbidden Vault instead of the NPC's article, since the line's purpose is clearly to add flavor to the room as a whole rather than to develop her character.
  • I assume you've overlooked something at some point, but I'm not sure where you'd prefer to see the line, because you've removed it from both articles -- first from the location article because "it's a quote already on the NPC's page", then from the NPC's page because "it's ambient dialogue already on the location page". So which is it? --Idris (talk) 22:24, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Hey, I am only following the guides on NPC and Location formatting here. It says If a speech balloon pops up upon interaction, record it here. Event and mission-specific quotes should go on the event/mission page. on the NPC formatting page, and on Location it says that ambient dialogue goes on area page (in this case it is Basaltic Fringe then) and not on PoI pages. Plenty of ambient dialogue lines triggers only when you are near the character, and it is not a speech balloon. EDIT: It is a speech balloon, but doesn't trigger upon interaction with the NPC. Sime (talk) 22:28, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Ah, it's on the area page, ok. That confused me, because while in general we tend to put ambient dialogue on area pages, I feel that the Forbidden Vault is a special case, since it's cordoned off from the rest of the area. It'd make more sense to put the dialogue there instead, imo. Edit: Hang on, it's not a speech balloon? I could have sworn it was... but if it's a dialogue box, then it's a no-brainer that it goes on the NPC page, since ambient dialogue is always speech balloons too. --Idris (talk) 22:37, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
As I said, I was only following the guidelines - but if you think it would be better on the PoI page in this case (you have a valid point with this PoI being cordoned from the area), I am in no position to disallow it. And for the edit - I am sorry, that was mistake on my part, it indeed is a speech balloon, I meant it doesn't trigger when interacting to the NPC. Sime (talk) 22:57, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
I'm not really in a position to "disallow" anything either -- I'm not sure anyone is. That's not how the wiki works. The guidelines are really just documentation of whatever approach the wiki hive-mind currently uses, but they're not set in stone, especially in ambiguous cases such as this. The important thing is that we discuss these ambiguous cases and come to a consensus. Please feel free to speak your mind if you've been biting your tongue. :) --Idris (talk) 23:16, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
No no no, I am not biting my tongue at all - I hope it doesn't look like that. I don't want anyone to think I am changing/deleting/moving things added by others just 'cause or to mean harm/disrespect to anyone, I just follow the provided guidelines - I simply love filling in things into predefined columns - that's maybe why I study sociology lol. I agree, discussion is important - other people (you know who) should really look up the definiton of it and try to apply it. Sime (talk) 23:28, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Heh, ok then. I kinda got the impression that you were hiding behind the guidelines to avoid getting in trouble or something, so I wanted to make sure you knew that wasn't necessary. :) I'm going to move the dialogue to Forbidden Vault if you've got no qualms. --Idris (talk) 23:33, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

PoF Content[edit]

Hello! I saw some changes made by you on various mount skin pages (I do not disagree with the edit but I should ask for clarification). The edit removed ¨|release = pof¨from the templates and thus removing Path of Fire content from the top right corner. Since one must own PoF to purchase the mount skins and use them, are they not Path o Fire content or should they be something else entirely? Black Lion Trading Post content perhaps? I don't know but when I created those little bad boy articles, I followed another mount skin and used it as a copy-paste template. I hope this doesn't seem intrusive! I love those Choyas by the way! Especially the piñata. endeavor7530 12:36, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I removed the PoF from them because I thought the release parameter is used only for content that was released under the associated release (aka HoT, PoF) and the mount skins were released after, but you have a point with them requiring having PoF to use them. I'll ask someone more acquainted with it, and will eventually add/remove it from the rest. Thanks for the heads up though! EDIT: And that mount skin page you used as a template was made by me, btw :D I asked Doodleplex for the clarification now. Sime (talk) 14:21, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Okay, thank you! :D endeavor7530 20:30, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Regarding edit to Zehlon Ossa[edit]

Hi Sime, Got curious about your latest edit to Zehlon Ossa. Just out of interest: what's the source? :) Titus User titus the third.png 19:53, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello. The source was dialogue with Master Sergeant Shadi (I also mentioned it in summary but you probably didn't notice, which happens to me sometimes too lol). The same info, though phrased differently, can be found on the Order of the Sunspears- I assume it is from the same source, and I wasn't sure if in that case I should leave the lore bit on Zehlon's page, but I think in the end why not, I personally love some background on NPCs that could seem to someone "random". Hope it helps. Sime (talk) 23:47, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Editing Nyala's image[edit]

Hey Sime, can you explain how you make the NPC infobox include the picture of Nyala without adding it on the page itself? Thanks! Sylen (talk) 23:41, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Hey, if the NPC uses a picture already uploaded on wiki (you can check most of them here Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Projects/Shared Model Project, you use the image = file name as you did. If the NPC has a new image, you don't need to write that parameter - when you create new page, it will already include a link to the picture with the page name, you only need to upload it and it will automatically show. Sime (talk) 23:45, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank You[edit]

Black Lion Garden Plot Deed[edit]

Hi! You reverted my edit, which was admittedly a revert of your own. I'm curious as to how you tested it? I had a friend stand by while I was gathering my garden, and then she harvested it all too. This was yesterday, and the second time it happened -- I accidentally harvested my garden before some people could a few days ago, and they could still get everything too. I'm wondering if there are some specific circumstances that prevent other people from gathering it in addition to/instead of the owner having gathered it already. Hope we can get some insight into this! --Faelys 01:26, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello! I understood your edit that they fixed the ability to harvest someone else's deed - but you actually mean you can harvest it even if the owner already did? If yes then it is misunderstanding on my part. Sime (talk) 12:13, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, it can be harvested by other people after the owner did! It used to be like you said, but they must have changed it at some point. I guess a note that the garden can be harvested by other people would be better than altogether removing it. --Faelys 20:13, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing it up with me - I remember reading that only the owner was able to harvest it etc. Yeah I agree the note would be helpful. Sime (talk) 22:35, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Extended editor rights[edit]

Hi there Sime. You've been a diligent wiki editor for some time now, so how'd you feel about an upgrade? I think you'd make an excellent extended editor, with your numerous moving-of-articles and whatnot. You could then prevent redirects when moving pages, which I'm sure you'd make a use out of. If you fancy a wiki super-power, let me know and I'll suggest it to one of the higher ups. :) —Ventriloquist 22:42, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello, that's not a bad idea - would save time for me and for the person deleting the remnants etc. Why not then :) Thank you. Sime (talk) 22:47, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Done, try not to break anything. - Tanetris (talk) 04:28, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Welcome to the club. Watch out for that rollback button. (Spoiler: you WILL accidentally click it at least once.) --Idris (talk) 04:42, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, I will try to be careful! Sime (talk) 14:57, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Damn[edit]

Wew, don't even have time to finish updating my page that already you are creating some red links. Those be some speedy fingers, I'm impressed. -Darqam 20:54, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

That happens when someone is really bored and GW2 is crashing :P Sime (talk) 20:57, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Bored eh...if you feel particularly bored, feel free to hunt through traits: I've noticed a decent number of them have out of date descriptions and/or have skill facts using the wrong icons(according to the API). - Doodleplex 21:01, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Not quite acquintained with API regarding traits and skills, but well, time to learn something new I guess? Sime (talk) 21:20, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
It's actually not as hard as it sounds, believe me heh. Look at Faithful Strike. There's a link in the infobox that takes you to the API info for that skill. What you want to look at on the api page is the part that says "description" to make sure what we have on the wiki is correct. For the icons, look for the "facts":" section and anything on that part of the page that says "icon", just open the link for that icon to see if what we currently have is correct. Usually you want to check the stuff that isn't an effect such as "Number of Allied Targets" versus stuff like "damage" or "bleeding" as those should be fine. On that particular trait, the icon we had ws wrong for allied targets, so I corrected it by checking Template:Skill fact to know what to do. I can do a mockup image for you if you'd like if you're still feeling lost. (edit) Almost forgot, Darqam's site has a thing for trait interwikis, that may prove very helpful as well.- Doodleplex 21:38, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, that was an exhausting explanation! You are right, not as hard as I thought it is. Sime (talk) 21:46, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
^_^ Hope that helps you with your boredom heh. - Doodleplex 21:49, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Ruler's Throne[edit]

Do you have a source for this? This would explain why the Arcane Council seats don't count for #3, which is literally "Arcane Council Seat", but I don't want to add "see #42" to that one until I'm sure. --Idris (talk) 21:35, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Here. Sime (talk) 21:36, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks! --Idris (talk) 21:37, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Glutton for Punishment[edit]

Hey Sime, I just noticed that you removed your signature on Wiki of Gold for creating Glutton for Punishment. While I can't speak for Dash, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't feel embarrassed about making a change while Dash and I were still discussing whether that particular approach is appropriate. Either way, you created the page with a framework for future editors to begin improving upon, and imo that's good enough for OWoG credit. :) --Idris (talk) 18:33, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

To be honest I got unsure if it is enough to participate for that set and I don't want to read another "hur dur it is a bot and low quality contrib" by our friendly anonym. But thanks for your words, I'll re-add it as I have nothing to lose if Dash deems it not appropriate enough. Sime (talk) 16:50, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
I'm sorry to hear that anon got you down. But you're right: Dash is the one who makes the final call, so who cares what ol' "I'm posting anonymously because I have so little faith in my fellow editors that I don't even trust them to take my critique in good faith" thinks? ;) --Idris (talk) 17:44, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Peripheral Vision / Premeditation[edit]

Hi Sime, I'm not sure that moving Peripheral Vision to Premeditation was a good idea. They're pretty different traits, so I think it would have been better if Peripheral Vision had been left as a historical article. You also broke quite a few links by failing to leave a redirect behind when you made the move, though I've fixed that now. Finally, the version history table is displaying the wrong entry: it says that Premeditation was created in 2017, when it should be saying Peripheral Vision. I strongly recommend moving it back to its original name, marking it as historical, and creating a new page for the new trait. (The presence of the redirect page shouldn't affect your ability to move it back; redirects are automatically deleted when moving a page there so long as they have no history beyond page creation.) --Idris (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello. Oh my, I've been on wiki for some time now, and yet I make such rookie mistake with breaking the links  :< I am sorry, hopefully I fixed it with following Nefastu's example with other traits--fixing the name in version history, and also fixing the whole history page?Sime (talk) 15:07, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
It's ok, mistakes are easy to make! I'm not hugely familiar with how we handle traits that get replaced by new ones, so fair enough if this is how Nefastu would approach this, but I'll point out that some links still look weird. Check out the game updates page: Game_updates/2018-05-08#Traits. This seems to be due to {{game update icon}} automatically renaming the redirect, so we could fix it by removing the template, but you'd have to hunt through Special:WhatLinksHere/Peripheral_Vision and fix other cases of the template erroneously changing the name. --Idris (talk) 15:15, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, just noticed the problem with links in the game update page happened to more traits (like Nourishing Rot > Nourishing Ashes). Not sure how to fix the template, but we probably should to prevent future cases of "Premeditation: This trait has been replaced with Premeditation.". Sime (talk) 15:21, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
I'll bring this problem up on the talk page for the template. --Idris (talk) 15:28, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
And this is why I have been reluctant to touch skills and traits :( At least I learnt something new today. Sime (talk) 15:52, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Don't be hard on yourself; making mistakes is an inevitable part of learning and nobody with any sense would hold that against you. The problem seems to be sorted now anyway. :) --Idris (talk) 15:57, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Don't they both share the same trait id? In which case I'd argue it was renamed and repurposed... -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:18, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
I'm happy with that if it's a better set-up. Nefastu's fixed the template issue so I don't think there'd be any problems with merging them again at this point. --Idris (talk) 19:28, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

...isn't stealing, it's just an alternate form of inspiration. ;D - Doodleplex 22:07, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

Thanks, first time I've seen it on the DE wiki I knew I wanted to incorporate it here too. I think the nav now looks much better and more colorful (and not boring). Sime (talk) 22:12, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
It does! I actually independently came up with this idea a couple of days ago (haven't seen how the German wiki does it), but I decided to wait until Roller Beetle had been released. Thanks for confirming it was a good idea! —Idris User Idris signature.png 04:27, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Grapes[edit]

Since I can't check myself, can you see if the regular grape nodes are the same model as Vabbian Heirloom Grapes? I suspect they are the same and one nice big image for both would be great. Cheers! - Doodleplex 14:10, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Aye aye, captain! Yes, they are the same (I am not the author of the Vabbian grapes picture btw, only moved it from .png). Though yes, none of the pictures is good. Sime (talk) 15:56, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Coordinates and event id[edit]

Hi there Sime! I was wondering how you get the information about the coordinates and the event id of an event. Thanks in advance! MrLeopold (talk) 08:30, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello, you can get it from the Widget:Event table. Simply write the name of the event (or just part of it), and it will show you the id and coordinates. Sime (talk) 14:44, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

If you're tagging a remnant page you've found for deletion (thanks for doing that btw, I really appreciate it), you want to make sure to add the deletion template above the redirect, not below it; you'll go to the page being redirected otherwise. Cheer! - Doodleplex 17:29, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Didn't know that, thanks for telling me! Sime (talk) 17:36, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
No problem! Also a question, you created Template:Livestreams nav, I want to know about the "Let's Play" link. I've heard that term used a lot as for general playthroughs on Twitch or Youtube, so I'm just curious where it came from in regards to ArenaNet streams. - Doodleplex 19:27, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
The "Let's Play" is a name of stream show where the devs play current content (festivals, fractals, etc), in the latest episode Rubi used it in a context that they are gonna always play the current LWS episode before the new is releasing. There are currently only few episodes with the recent being Let's Play Guild Wars 2, Sandswept Isles Open World! Sime (talk) 19:40, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
Ah, okay, thanks! - Doodleplex 19:41, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

New Items[edit]

Just wanted to say thanks for going through so many of those new items and creating their pages, skins and all. G R E E N E R 19:54, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Hey, no problem, it is really fun discovering things and adding them to wiki articles! Sime (talk) 20:02, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Okay, so you a) beat me by 3 minutes on the Black Lion Chest Merchant, and b) you did a far more accurate job that I did. tips hat. G R E E N E R 18:49, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

When to use the[edit]

About your edit to the Fields of Ruin page: why wouldn't the the be appropriate? As far as I can tell it makes sense grammatically, and if you look at the mail delivered upon zone completion of the Fields of Ruin it also says the. Not saying you're wrong just asking why. ~ Trevor95251 03:42, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

We document info as it is written in the game, typos and all. I presume the hints in the game leave out 'the', which is why Sime removed it. —Ventriloquist 08:28, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
Ventriloquist is right, it appears without the in-game. Also about my removal of the brackets around additional Fields of Ruins, the same page doesn't need to be linked 2+ times on the same article. Sime (talk) 11:47, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
Makes sense, I just figured that it was a typo from the user side. If that's the way it is in-game then of course we should leave it. As for the links to the Fields of Ruin, I may have gone a bit overboard with linking it so many times, ~ Trevor95251 14:54, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Game Updates page changes - 2018/10/04[edit]

Hi there Sime! I just reverted your 2 edits to the Game updates/2018-10-02 page, but wanted to reach out so as to not start a revision war or cause any bad blood through misunderstandings.

My *guess* in looking at the edits you made is that you likely didn't see the full contents of the Game updates page due to the page caching issues that all so often bite us with that page. From what I can tell, you added the Late Notes section, not realizing it was already there, and then on a second edit added the next Bug Fixes section for the Blowtorch and Empowering Might skill changes, both of which were already on the Game updates/2018-10-03 page (with skill page links). After forcing a cache reload, that resulted in those two skills being shown back-to-back on the top of the game updates page itself, across the two included date pages.

I'm pretty sure all the content was already there and already in the right order (and with the right "wiki notes" sections in the right places so that the release numbers were in the right places relative to each section), so I went ahead and put the page back to the last edits I'd made the previous day. With luck, it's all correct and sane again (assuming it was originally), but if I've messed something up that you'd done deliberately with the formatting or section ordering, please do let me know!

If you're not aware already, the trick that the wiki admins were kind enough to let me know about a few months ago as a frequent editor of the game updates page: if you click on the timestamp in the header bar at the top right of the page (most useful on Game updates), it'll ask you if you want to clear the page cache. I now almost always poke around at the individual pages behind the scenes and double check that nobody beat me to the edits on the included pages, before making any edits, having run into similar issues in the past.

Cheers! --Tengauge (talk) 20:21, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, no worries for reverting my mistakes. Yeah you are right, I did not see the notes there, even though I cleared the cache, so my first assumption was no one added them yet. Small things that is incorrect though is the order of notes - Late Notes should be after Update 2 to mimic forum notes. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 20:40, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
I was wondering about that - the forum order was (unusually) such that update 2 came before late notes, but if we reflected that same order on the wiki, it would then cause the late notes to look as if they're part of build 92739, instead of build 92715. My reasoning was that the late notes tied to the right build number was more important than following the forum order. Totally up to you wiki superusers and admins to make that call though! --Tengauge (talk) 21:34, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
