Vishen Steelshot is a member of Ryland Steelcatcher's Steel Warband in the Blood Legion and has sided with the Dominion along with the rest of the warband.

Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Vishen was raised at the Blood Legion Fahrar in the Blood Keep, where she received a badge for her sharpshooting abilities. She particularly enjoyed eating meat, especially seared dolyak.^[1]

At a young age, she joined the Steel Warband, along with Cinder Steeltemper, Ranoah Grindsteel and Ryland. During this period, the fahrar's primus would be cruel to the cubs, so Ryland attacked the primus, nearly killing them. Cinder stopped him, however, and he was named Ryland Steelcatcher after this incident.

Vishen's first posting was in Redreave Mill, to the Reave warband. She served as a sentry, standing atop the nearby mountain and noted in her journal that it made the job easy. She also mentioned in the diary that talk around the campfire suggested there was a festival occuring in a nearby village. After this posting, she went to the villge and bought a sausage from a nearby charr, somehow startling Ranoah.

Vishen soon went south to the wreckage of the Northern Wall and climbed over it, battling a strong Ascalonian ghost who guarded a chest there. She then returned to the Blood Keep, where she wrote notes on her rifle, a limerick, and sketched in her journal. She noted in the journal that Inquest golems contained a sort of optic that would be valuable in the rifle's creation, though the larger and more aggressive golems had the optics better preserved once destroyed. She noted that crystals from the Chaos Cavern in the Iron Marches were also useful due to their size-changing abilities.

Vishen went to retrieve both of these materials and then made the rifle. Around this time, she met Elexus Shredskin at the Sniper's Square, the location where she had practised sharpshooting, while Elexus was helping to train the cubs there. The two became good friends quickly after Elexus offered to show Vishen her recipe for chicken-fried steak.^[2]

In 1332 AE, Vishen and the rest of the Steel Warband followed Blood Legion imperator Bangar Ruinbringer into the Far Shiverpeaks, clearing a path through the mountains. She was responsible for perimeter defense during clearing. Three times she invited some recruits to help her snipe various targets. Vishen liked the more interesting side effects of Nicabar's brews. She also noted that the vibrations of tank kept her up at night.

At the gates to the ruins, Vishen noted that it belonged to the Stone Summit dwarfs and that it was reportedly haunted by them. She offered to send up a flare for reinforcements. This request was denied by Ryland. Vishen considered cutting ruins to be a really stupid idea.

Further along in the mission, having successfully defended the perimeter within the ruins, she offered again to summon reinforcements with a flare. Ryland denied the request again. She finally used the flare with Ryland's permission after witnessing the Ancient Forgeman. A fierce battle ensued with Vishen providing support from the side. When the Forgeman was defeated, she noted that the flare was unneeded. Centurion Ryland Steelcatcher then left the rest of the warband behind at the entrance to the Darkrime Delves and Vishen answered some questions from a curious recruit.

In Drizzlewood Coast in 1333 AE, Vishen was promoted to the rank of centurion and assigned to guard Leadfoot Village, a former Norn settlement, where she was attacked by United Legions forces. When she was nearly defeated, Nicabar notified her that the base was lost, recalling her to Wolf's Crossing. There she was hunted down and eventually killed alongside her warbandmates Ranoah Grindsteel and Nicabar Steelweaver during the battle of Wolf's Crossing.
