Her smile caught me off guard. The twinkle in her eye roared with intensity and guile. She literally stopped my heart.

Chronomancers are the savants of the world. Like a clock on a wall or a watch in a pocket they govern the streams of time. Chronomancers mold and manipulate the threads of the past, present, and future to bend the fate of the world around them. As a soldier profession, chronomancers wear heavy armor.

Abilities[edit]

Spare Parts are the chronomancer profession's unique mechanic. Like life force and adrenaline, spare parts are a resource that accrue naturally over the course of a fight. In addition, they are generated by some traits and even abilities. Spare parts fuel three separate abilities on a fifteen, thirty, and forty five second cooldown respectively known as Invocations. These three abilities are Turbo-Accelerator (granting the user 3 seconds of Super Speed), Temporal Implosion (after a brief wind-up, nearby enemies are pulled towards the chronomancer and temporarily interrupted), and Chronic Shift (shift the target into an alternate timestream to prevent all actions for 2 seconds).

  • The mesmer profession was confirmed on the Guild Wars 2 official Facebook fan page as the eighth and final profession on December 12th, 2011; they announced early on Facebook due to a leak from a video displaying a sample of mesmer skills used in combat.
  • On the main Guild Wars 2 website, the "minstrel" was displayed as a false profession reveal. Clicking on the minstrel caused the character to shatter, replacing it with an image of the mesmer's reveal instead.
