This tablet has recordings of conversations that took place in the lab area.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G01.
Taimi: Oh, hey. Don't mind us, Commander. Just settin' up a lab for important Elder Dragon research.
Taimi: Fate of the whole world depends on it. No big deal.
Gorrik: Is this really the best location?
Taimi: Well if we're investigating the dragon cycle, we should be near a DRAGON, right?
Taimi: There aren't too many Elder Dragons left in the world, so Aurene's our only bet.
Gorrik: (sigh) I guess you're right. But we could have a more robust laboratory at Rata Sum.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G02.
Gorrik: We can always use more data to isolate commonalities among the Elder Dragons. Find a pattern.
Gorrik: You've fought them for years, Commander. Inside your memories could be clues to the dragon cycle.
Taimi: Ooh, do we get to poke around in the commander's head?
Gorrik: I was thinking we use the scrying pool to help the commander relive the memories of these past years.
Taimi: Huh... That's ingenious, Gorrik.
Gorrik: Oh. Well. Thank you.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G03. (if Studying Scarlet is completed)
Taimi: Oh, Commander. Thanks for all the help with the whole...recollecting your memories thing.
Taimi: It's been illuminating. We've got lots more data than we'd have otherwise.
Gorrik: I'm learning a lot about you before we met. Scarlet affected so many lives across Tyria.
Taimi: Yeah, she did. (sigh) Don't meet your heroes, huh?
Taimi: Caithe's also grown a lot since then, huh? But I guess we wouldn't have Aurene if she hadn't, y'know, taken the egg.
Gorrik: I noticed Phlunt didn't change at all.
Taimi: I KNOW, right? He's the worst. Anyway, keep at it, Commander.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G04.
Gorrik: I don't know. Doesn't really feel like my scene.
Taimi: We could use a break from staring at charts and papers, though. Think I could chug a whole stein of norn grog?
Gorrik: Their body mass is much greater. I think you'd die from liver failure.
Taimi: Me? Ha!
Gorrik: It does feel a bit...weird to be celebrating the bashing of dragons. Figurative or otherwise.
Taimi: Primordus threatened the asura for ages, and Jormag wreaked havoc on the norn.
Taimi: I don't agree with it, but yeah I understand why the festival exists.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G05.
Taimi: I can't believe I ever looked up to Scarlet. You can be a supergenius without being a deranged terrorist—HELLO!
Gorrik: Good thing you were all there to stop her. I was studying the fascinating Elonian sand moth back then.
Taimi: Oh, yeah. I forgot you had that whole uh...bug phase.
Gorrik: It's not a phase! Entomology is a legitimate and important field of research.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G06. (if Peer Review is completed)
Gorrik: You've been busy, Commander. Loads more data; tons for Taimi and me to sift through.
Taimi: Speaking of busy, I heard someone other than us has been looking into dragon research.
Taimi: Rata Novus, the Crucible of Eternity, the Durmand Priory...
Taimi: Someone's snooping!
Gorrik: Science is the universal exploration of knowledge—and open to everyone, Taimi.
Taimi: Yeah, well, I don't like it. It feels...sneaky!
Gorrik: We're holed up in a makeshift lab in the Eye of the North, miles from civilization.
Taimi: This isn't makeshift! It's a very respectable, HUMBLE lab—thank you very much.
Taimi: If this place is good enough for Aurene, it's good enough for us.
Gorrik: We're in the company of Snargle Goldclaw...
Taimi: I'm not mad about it.
Gorrik: I'm getting back to work, Commander.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G07. (if Return to Storm Tracking is completed.)
Gorrik: That was... yeah. I miss him. A lot.
Gorrik: I didn't have a lot of friends, growing up. Blish always looked after me.
Gorrik: He was my big brother. I... Yeah, I really miss him.
Taimi: Gorrik...
Gorrik: Well, I have more friends now.
Taimi: Blish would be proud of you.
Gorrik: You think so? I hope so.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G08. (if Parallel Analysis is completed)
Taimi: Commander! Can you believe the nerve of some people?
Taimi: Someone broke into my lab at Rata Sum! Made a huge mess. Huh, you think it was Phlunt again? I bet it was Phlunt again.
Gorrik: Wait, you didn't tell me this.
Taimi: Because I didn't want you to worry. See? Eye of the North was the right choice for the lab.
Taimi: If I'd been working out of MY lab, I could've been kidnapped. Or worse.
Gorrik: Don't say that. That's horrible.
Taimi: I'm fine, Gorrik. I know you'd protect me if anyone came after us here.
Taimi: Well, you and Aurene. Anyway, Commander, thanks for the new data.
Gorrik: Who do you think Kralkatorrik was referring to as "Mother"?
Taimi: Probably his mother.
Gorrik: Do Elder Dragons have mothers?
Taimi: Aurene does.
Talk quest option tango.png Play recording EYE-G09. (if End Conjecture is completed)
Taimi: You did it, Commander. All your adventures from these past years! Quite a trip down memory lane.
Gorrik: The deaths of Primordus and Jormag released an unprecedented amount of dragon magic into the ecosystem.
Gorrik: And if there is another Elder Dragon—
Taimi: Which we don't know for sure—
Gorrik: Right. But if there is... Wherever he is...it must be pretty bad.
Taimi: The most popular theory is the water dragon's somewhere in the depths of the Unending Ocean.
Gorrik: Not exactly a narrow search range.
Taimi: It's a hypothesis with no empirical basis.
Taimi: It's clear to me that we need to—
Taimi: Ah!
Gorrik: Taimi?
Taimi: I-I'm fine. It'll pass.
Gorrik: You need time off. We both need some.
Taimi: There's too much to do! We don't fully understand the ramifications of the dragon cycle yet.
Taimi: The other shoe can drop at any moment. We have to be ready.
Gorrik: I know. Just don't...push yourself too hard.
Talk quest option tango.png Replay Research Log 428 (End of Dragons Recap) (If Convergence has been completed)
Taimi: Research log four-twenty-eight. (sigh) Latest results, still inconclusive.
Taimi: Elder Dragons awaken, consume magic, and leave nothing but annihilation in their wake.
Taimi: This is the way it's always been. The Dragon Cycle.
Taimi: Unimaginable suffering through the ages. Countless lives shattered.
Taimi: And instead of uniting, some capitalized on chaos.
Taimi: But some of us fought back.
Taimi: Heroes across Tyria banded together.
Taimi: We came from different corners, but shared a vision of a better tomorrow.
Taimi: Not everyone made it.
Taimi: Then came...hope. From an unexpected place.
Taimi: Aurene, who we raised from an egg.
Taimi: With the Prismatic Dragon on our side, we have a chance. A chance to finally break the Dragon Cycle!
Taimi: We've slain five Elder Dragons.
Taimi: But what's the right path forward? Every Elder Dragon death has made the whole system more unstable.
Taimi: There have been many theories. We tried to keep balance by replacing them, but that turned out to be impossible.
Taimi: We're running out of time for answers. (sigh) I'm running out of time.
Taimi: One remaining Elder Dragon is out there, somewhere. I don't know what awaits us.
Talk end option tango.png Leave it alone.

Notes[edit]

  • The Crucible of Eternity was an Inquest underwater lab ran by Kudu that experimented with draconic energies. Following Kudu's demise, the Order of Whispers conducted a highly secretive operation orchestrated by Agent Spire to dismantle the lab and seal it forever. Being an apprentice of Zojja (who helped kill Kudu), it's likely that Taimi is aware of the research the Inquest conducted inside that lab, but her comment on recording EYE-G06 reveals that said research might not be as secretive anymore.
