Temple of the Silent Storm Paid Tournament Week!

Greetings!

I am pleased to announce that the Temple of the Silent Storm battlegrounds is finally making its PvP tournament debut! Starting January 28, and for the next seven days, the regular eight-team/three-round paid tournaments will be replaced with two-team/single-round paid tournaments featuring the Temple of the Silent Storm venue.

To participate, open the PvP panel and select "Go to the Heart of the Mists." Once there, you need to create your own five-person paid tournament roster either by speaking with me, or by joining another player's existing roster. Once the roster has five signatures, click"Submit" and the tournament will begin shortly. The entrance fee is three tournament tickets per player.

Also, at the end of the week, we will be adding the Temple of the Silent Storm to the regular PvP rotation for both free and paid tournaments.

I hope to see you in the arena!

Matter of Concern

Savant,

An individual who claims some preposterous connection with a former colleague of mine recently contacted me, and while his claims concerning that connection are dismissable, he does bring up a good point. Refugees have been streaming into the Black Citadel, Lion's Arch, and Hoelbrak from the northwestern quadrant of the Diessa Plateau and the northeastern quadrant of the Wayfarar Foothills. I don't know what's going on there-and I'm too busy to investigate personally-so, it will have to be you. Go look into it at your earliest convenience. Don't bother reporting back. I trust you to handle this matter with efficiency and style.

Good luck, and watch your ears out there.

Call to Action

<Player name>-

Interrupt your current order. Recent events in the Black Citadel require your attention. Refugees from northwestern Diessa Plateau have been flooding in to the city, and it sounds like the same thing's happening over in Hoelbrak. I'm even hearing reports that they're seeing refugees as far west as Lion's Arch. Get there as soon as you can. We need all bodies responding to this. I've got refugee troubles up to my eyeballs, so you'll be my soldier in the field on this one. Just do the best you can to help them.

Matter of Importance

Dear <Player Name>,

I reach out to you with the utmost urgency. It has been brought to my attention by two other members of Destiny's Edge that they're experiencing some trouble in Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel. Something, or someone, is burning both norn and charr out of their homes and forcing them to seek shelter and security in the cities. This is unprecedented, and I'm concerned. As a favor to my friends, I'm asking you to travel to one or both of these cities and see if you can offer any assistance. If this is as bad as they say, it may eventually threaten Krytan citizens as well. You're the perfect choice to deal with this. I'd help, but I have the queen's business to attend to.

Threat Rising

Slayer,

You're needed in Hoelbrak. An upsurge of dredge has forced steadholders out of their homes, and they're arriving broken and battered. Knut and I are doing all we can to heal the wounded and to arrange food and shelter, but it takes time. I need someone who can go up to Wayfarer Foothills, toward Dolyak Pass, and help anyone left behind or still fighting. We're not getting accurate reports from the area, so I'm not sure what's happening up there.

Rytlock sent notice that he's experiencing the same thing in the Black Citadel. Charr refugees are fleeing the city as their homes are being destroyed and their friends and family massacred. Much like here. I hope he's handling it better than we are here. Organization has never been one of our more epic qualities.

Trouble Abroad

Valiant, I've got a job for you. My friends (most days) Rytlock and Eir have requested help. I can't go myself-Nightmare Court trouble-so I'm sending you instead. If you will go, of course. Here's all I know-some nasty situation in the Shiverpeaks is killing norn and charr on either side of the mountains. It's gotten ugly, and the survivors have started migrating to Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel to get away from...whatever it is. Take your pick. Go to either the Wayfarer foothills or to Diessa Plateau, and see if you can assist the fleeing norn and charr. watch out for their injured pride, though. It's likely to be the sharpest thing you encounter. I'll see you soon.

Savant,

Masterful sleuthing in Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau has led us to new insights. A dredge and Flame Legion alliance? Talk about unnatural. Not even my craziest conjecture could have predicted that coupling. And when the blind and bullish collide, you can expect acute stupidity to follow.

But I digress—it's evident that the muttonheads in the Black Citadel and Hoelbrak have lost control of the situation. While my presence is essential in Rata Sum, you have the noble opportunity to lend the cities your assistance. Check in at the citadel's Imperator's Core, where their high-ranking officials have organized a defense quorum. Declare your support, then hightail it to Rytlock's office for additional instruction.

Call to Arms

Soldier,

Rumor's now a fact. Dredge in Wayfarer Foothills and Flame Legion in Diessa Plateau have allied. Together they're attacking our people up north and norn to the west. I'm tied up in meetings with the other tribunes; we're strategizing our return assault. The war council's organized a defense quorum. When you get here, stop by the Imperator's Core and check in.

Listen, my fur's crawling from being holed up with these blockheads, so later, report to my office for a debriefing. And a drink. I could use the break. Afterward, feel free to start pulverizing enemy forces.

My friend,

Kryta's sources report things have worsened in Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel. Refugees are pouring into the cities from the north, where a dredge-Flame Legion alliance is tearing through Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau. Our comrades are struggling to repel the invaders.

As a Seraph guard, my duties are here. However, I'd like you to assist the cities. The citadel is holding a defense quorum in the Imperator's Core, and they need all the support they can get. Head to the quorum and let the tribunes know you're there to help. But before you leave, stop by Rytlock's office—he may have specific instructions for you.

Slayer,

Hoelbrak is still struggling to keep up with the rising number of refugees. our scouts have confirmed that dredge in Wayfarer Foothills and Flame legion in Diessa Plateau have allied. Such a partnership cannot be ignored. For now, the best thing we can do is subdue their forces. We nee you out there, defending our homesteads and fighting the enemy. With you in the field, Knut and I can plan a large-scale response to the dredge and Flame Legion attacks.

They're doing the same over at the Black Citadel and could use your support. They've coordinated a meeting of their high-ranking officials, so check in at the defense quorum in the Imperator's Core, and tell them you're at their disposal. Then, find Rytlock in his office—give him my regards—and let him know you're there to help. He might appreciate the reprieve from his onslaught of tactical meetings.

Valiant,

Eir and Rytlock are in over their heads. The dredge in Wayfarer Foothills and the Flame Legion in Diessa Plateau have joined forces. Together, they're assaulting the lands north of Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel. Our friends have been overwhelmed by the refugees seeking aid in their cities. I would gladly lend them assistance, but matters in the Grove demand my attention.

I would like you to head to the Imperator's Core in the Black Citadel. The city's tribunes have assembled a defense quroum. Check in with the quorum, and let them know you're there to help. I'm sure what they need most is volunteers to quell their attackers, but Rytlock may have more to add if you speak to him after the assembly. You'll find him in his office. Good luck.

To all Vigil available for activation:

A situation in Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau has come to our attention. The Vigil are responding, and all active Vigil representatives are being deployed—that means you. We've learned about a major military offensive by an alliance of Flame Legion and dredge. Vigil forward scouts have arrived in the area and are leading the response. The invaders have taken innocent Tyrian citizens as prisoners, and that is unacceptable.

Report at your earliest convenience to Tribune Rytlock Brimstone in the Black Citadel. The city has also organized a defense quorum in the Imperator's Core. Check in at the Core and offer your services to the war council. We must confront this invasion with a combined effort and as much force as possible.

Our Time Has Come

<Player Name>, I've been talking with the Vigil about the attack on Cragstead. They agreed that I could join the raid on the Molten Alliance, and now's the time! The Vigil's making surprise attacks against as many of the Molten Alliance's weapon facilities as possible to rescue prisoners and crush the invasion. And they need help.

Join us! I'd be honored to fight by your side once more. Return to Wayfarer's Foothills or Diessa Plateau and watch for any indication that they've found an entrance. Bring friends, lots of them! I'll be there, ready to bust some molten heads. And by Wolf, I'm looking forward to it.

I hope to see you in the arena!

Exemplary Performance

You're as tactful as ever, <Character name>. The Molten Alliance has scattered—they're disorganized and panicking and won't bother us again any time soon. Unfortunately, we still have no viable theories as to why the two forces coalesced. I'll continue to examine the subject from Rata Sum. In the meantime, you should use this respite to rejuvenate yourself at the celebratory bonfires. It's your efforts in the field that demoralized the invaders.

Solid work, <Character name>. The Molten Alliance forces have scattered and retreated. They're unlikely to bother us again. The only thing worth considering now is why the cowards joined forces in the first place. I plan to review the issue. You, on the other hand, have earned yourself a sabbatical at the victory bonfires. Use the time wisely. Things get awfully eventful awfully fast these days.

The Molten Alliance has splintered. Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel are free of the invading forces, for now. What remains unknown is why the dredge and Flame Legion collaborated to begin with. We couldn't have done it without you, <Character name>. The Molten Alliance has deteriorated for the moment. Dredge still inhabit Wayfarer Foothills, but they're independent of the alliance. My next task is to find out what caused those two forces to unite. While I'm investigating the matter, I encourage you to rest and warm yourself at the celebration bonfires. This battle was hard-fought, and your contributions have earned you the right to a little relaxation.
