Dagonet

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki

A true sylvari should have two hearts: one soft and pliable as hot wax, and the other as hard and impenetrable as an icy diamond. The first, he should show to his companions, the second, to his enemy. Woe to the one for whom the two are the same.

Dagonet

Dagonet is a Firstborn sylvari and a scholar, and has studied the Dream of Dreams experience of many sylvari, including those of all of the Firstborn. He was once found in the great garden in the Upper City of Divinity's Reach acting as a diplomat regarding "royal matters" in Kryta.

Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Personal story[edit]

Living World Season 3[edit]

Between 1328 and 1330 AE, Dagonet traveled to Siren's Landing in Orr along with other volunteers and joined forces with the ghost of King Reza to continue Trahearne's work of cleansing the recovering land from Zhaitan's lingering corruption as well as study ways to activate the gods' reliquaries to achieve this end. He and Reza informed the Pact Commander about the movements of Balthazar and the Eye of Janthir as well as how to access Abaddon's Reliquary where the pair had been seen heading towards.

Janthir Wilds[edit]

Act 1

Dagonet attended the inaugural meeting of the Tyrian Alliance in Lion's Arch in 1337 AE and witnessed the dramatic entrance of Isgarren and the Astral Ward. He later took part in the newly formed alliance's voting on whether to use the Scepter of Orr against the titans which had begun terrorizing Janthir while also being introduced to Stoic Alder, the Claw of the Lowland Kodan living in Janthir.

Godspawn

Encouraged by Caithe,[1] Dagonet attended the Battle's Eve feast in Harvest Den alongside other Tyrian Alliance representatives in order to get to know the local lowlanders better while preparing for the battle against the three titans which the alliance intended to chase to Mount Balrior, where the titans were hiding, and defeat them so the trio would not hurt anyone else after their earlier rampage. Despite being talented diplomats, the alliance and the kodan did not mingle at first due to hesitation until the Pact Commander decided to introduce each alliance representative to members of the Lowland Kodan Council. Dagonet and Agriculture Master Soaring Crest hit it off right away with talk of environment and ecology. The party continued to gain momentum as the predinner activities commenced. Both the alliance and the kodan watched Spear Master Barbed Vale and the Commander take part in a friendly sparring session and then joined in a group dance. Afterward, the guests listened to the grand motivational speeches of Isgarren and Stoic Alder to bolster their morale for the fight ahead.

Despite preparations, most of the alliance and the lowlanders were unable to join the scouting party led by the Commander on Mount Balrior the next day as a sudden Mists Tide storm blocked access to the mountain once the Commander's party had already entered the area. They would eventually learn that the Commander's party had managed to defeat all three titans.

Upon returning to Harvest Den some time later, the Commander discovered a letter written by Dagonet to Caithe in Stoic Alder's house. The letter revealed that Caithe had kept Dagonet up to date on her investigation regarding clues to a potential cure for the Pale Tree's ailing condition and that she had found promising leads after speaking with the kodan wizard Waiting Sorrow. Dagonet believed that said leads would require time to research and pursue, and asked Caithe to keep these developments a secret from other members of the alliance for the time being to avoid unnecessary meddling.[1]

Dialogue[edit]

Historical dialogue[edit]

Are you enjoying the garden? It is my favorite place in the city.
(if not sylvari)
Talk more option tango.png What do you like about the garden?
The garden speaks much of the people that made it. Look here, how these leaves echo the shape of human dwellings piled upon one another. Remember this as you witness how humans interact with the world.
Talk end option tango.png An interesting point of view. Good-bye.
(if sylvari)
Talk more option tango.png Firstborn, tell me of this place. (Same as "What do you like about the garden?" above)
Talk more option tango.png Are the sylvari in Divinity doing well?
We go where life goes, so many of us end up here. Though few take root, even a brief passing allows for rich and varied experiences. I hope that you find something in these walls that enriches you as well.
Talk end option tango.png I appreciate that. Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png It is beautiful. I'm glad I saw it.
