Ascended chest

Ascended chests are a special kind of container that allow the player to choose ascended weapons and armor.

They generally come in three flavors:

  • Named weapon and armor chests (e.g., Zojja's Weapon Chest or Zojja's Armor Chest) let players choose any weapon or armor type respectively, with the given ascended prefix in the name of the chest.
  • Select-stats armor chests (e.g., Healer's Chest of Boots) let players choose any armor weight and a prefix based on the type of chest, but are limited to a particular piece (boots in this example)
  • Select-stats weapon chests (e.g. Chest of Longbows) let players choose any ascended prefix of a given weapon type (longbows in this example)

There are also containers that are rewards from certain achievements which let players choose an ascended chest.

Not all ascended weapon and armor drops come in chests. Ascended gear rewards in raids drop directly and let players select stats once - this page does not cover those rewards.

Acquisition[edit]

Named weapon and armor chests[edit]

In general, most of the containers and loot yielding content that awards exotic equipment or/and ascended crafting materials can also award weapon and armor chests. Note that it is impossible to acquire ascended equipment chests from open world content and containers with characters below level 80 (one exception to this is Daily Fractal chests).

Certain content can't award ascended crafting materials, but can award these chests regardless. This includes, but is not limited to:

Fractals of the Mists[edit]

The following chests drop in the Fractals of the Mists and allow you to chose a light, medium or heavy ascended armor piece of that type with Assaulter's, Defender's, Healer's, or Malicious stats.
