Dialogue[edit]

On approaching Korukhan (cinematic):

Korukhan the Blacksmith: There you are. Time to start earning your keep, initiate. The Vigil and Priory teams have already moved in, so your path is clear.
<Character name>: If they're already gone, then what's our objective?
Korukhan the Blacksmith: If the Priory falls short and the Vigil get themselves killed, we step in and save the day. As usual.
Korukhan the Blacksmith: We heard the sounds of combat recently, so we may already be needed. The first thing we do is find the other squads.
Rytlock Brimstone: This is your show Korukhan, but for the record: I don't like it. Carry on, but I'm coming along to make sure this gets done right.
Korukhan the Blacksmith: Always a pleasure to have you with us, Tribune. If we need any heroism or noble, attention-grabbing antics, it's all you. Now let's move out.

After the cinematic:

Depending on warband member:
Clawspur: Order of Whispers? Nice. That's definitely my style.
Dinky: Good choice. And if the Order of Whispers gets too quiet, you can always start the Order of Mutterers.
Euryale: Whispers, eh? Good choice. No matter how deep under cover they send you, remember to write home.
Maverick: Whispers, eh? I like everything about them but the name. Sometimes you gotta shout to get noticed.
Reeva: The Order of Whispers? Excellent choice. Should I call you the Secret Agent Boss from now on?

Entering the swamp:

Necromancer Rissa: Look, some stray cats have come to die with their friends.

Talking to your warband members in the swamp:

Clawspur: No shortage of targets here.
Talk end option tango.png Save your best efforts for the ones that really need it: Howl and the necromancer.
Dinky: I just heard somebody called Rytlock a "soldier's soldier," but that's what we used to call Howl. Can there be more than one?
Talk end option tango.png Howl's long gone. When we're done here, there'll be only one again.
Euryale: This is how it ought to be: the entire warband, fighting side-by-side. Let's see if these new recruits can live up to the standard we've set.
Talk end option tango.png I know they can. Come on. It's time to close the book on Howl and his amulet.
Maverick: I hate getting all this swamp muck on my armor. Though I guess you'll be wearing Order of Whispers colors from now on...so I say go ahead and get muddy.
Talk end option tango.png Just stick close. This isn't over yet, not by a long shot.
Reeva: I love it when the whole warband goes out fighting. Hate the reason, but you know me: I like to find the up side.
Talk end option tango.png I'll see the up side after we put Howl and that necromancer down for good.
Yahuk Fellstrike Magic at the ready, boss. You call out the targets, I'll light 'em up.
Talk end option tango.png Outstanding. Stay close to me and be ready for anything.
Wroda the Quick: You can count on me, boss. Show me who needs killing and turn me loose.
Talk end option tango.png Oh, I will. Stick close and wait for my orders.
Elexus Shredskin: I'm glad we have one last mission together before you join the Order of Whispers. This warband is the best thing that ever happened to me.
Talk end option tango.png You've earned your place in it. Stick close; this could get ugly.
Soure Doomsday: I've spent too much time in gloomy places like this. When we're done here, I think I'm going to sit on a warm, sunny beach for awhile.
Talk end option tango.png You are due for some R&R...after we deal with Howl and Rissa.
Fyon the Wraith: If this is our last change to fight together before you join the Order of Whispers, let's make the most of it.
Talk end option tango.png That's the plan. Move out, soldier.
Luccia Wildeye: I'm right behind you, boss. If you hear anything, wave or move around so I don't miss it.
Talk end option tango.png Works for me. Stick close, Luccia.
Zemzer Undercut: I haven't been on many missions as big as this one, but I'm right here when you need me.
Talk end option tango.png Good. Stick close and listen for my orders.

After finding the Vigil team:

Korukhan the Blacksmith: The Vigil squad is down. All of them, and that's not easy to do. We'd better be careful.

Howl appears before the group:

Korukhan the Blacksmith: So that's what happened to Howl's body. Don't hold back, Centurion. That's not him anymore.
Your warband member:
Clawspur: Is that you, Howl? Hate to say it, but it's time for you to lay down for good.
Dinky: Howl? Wow, you look awful. And you smell all...rotty. I liked you better when you were dead-dead. No offense.
Euryale: Burn me to cinders...Howl? No. No way I'm letting one of our warband walk around like this.
Maverick: Howl? Buddy, you're a disgrace. Sorry, but we got to put you down. You're making us all look bad.
Reeva: Aww...is that Howl? Sorry, buddy, but you need to go back in the ground.
Howl the Brazen threatens <Character name>.

After defeating Howl:

Rytlock Brimstone: Remember Howl like the good soldier he was. We need to find the Priory team, even though I doubt they survived.
Necromancer Rissa: Howl did not die well. Neither will you.

Talking to your warband members after killing Howl:

Clawspur: I liked Howl, but better dead than...that.
Talk end option tango.png No argument here.
Dinky: I don't like killing my friends, even after they're dead. I hope I never come back from the grave—I'd hate to put the warband through this again.
Talk end option tango.png Once we defeat the dragons, that won't be a problem. Let's keep moving.
Euryale: That...hurt. I thought [sic] was over losing all our friends, but seeing him again, like that... I'm just glad we were here to handle it.
Talk end option tango.png Howl is gone, but the warband is still here. And we've still got work to do.
Maverick: You know I hate to be flip, but that just showed by cremation is better than burial. I'm going to remember Howl like he was, thank you very much.
Talk end option tango.png Since when do you hate to be flip? Come on, let's go kill us a necromancer.
Reeva: Well, at least that's over. If and when I see Howl in the Mists, I hope he'll understand why we couldn't leave him like that.
Talk end option tango.png He'll understand. We couldn't leave Howl undead, and we won't leave Rissa alive.
Yahuk Fellstrike: I want that necromancer's head on a stick more than ever. I didn't know Howl, but nobody treats a member of my warband like that. Nobody.
Talk end option tango.png I like your attitude, soldier. Let's keep moving.
Wroda the Quick: Burn me, that was ugly. If I ever come back as the undead, I hope there's someone like you there to put me out of my misery.
Talk end option tango.png I'd do the same for any of the warband, and I'm going to do worse to that necromancer.
Elexus Shredskin: I didn't know Howl, but I'm glad to help put him out of his misery. If I ever turn out like that, I expect you to do the same.
Talk end option tango.png Count on it. Now let's go kill that necromancer.
Soure Doomsday: I know that wasn't easy for you, but trust me: a real soldier would rather be dead than be like that.
Talk end option tango.png Howl deserved better. And I'm going to give that necromancer worse.
Fyon the Wraith: I've seen a lot of bad things happen to a lot of good soldiers, but this... Let's find that necromancer and spill her guts all over this swamp.
Talk end option tango.png Couldn't have put it better myself.
Luccia Wildeye: So that was Howl the Brazen. He must have been something when he was still alive and stabbing.
Talk end option tango.png He was. And now we're going to gut the necromancer that brought him back.
Zemzer Undercut: I'm not really old enough to have old friends, but I can guess how hard that was for you. Let's find that necromancer and make her pay.
Talk end option tango.png That's just what I was about to say. Let's go.

Finding the Priory team:

Korukhan the Blacksmith: The Priory team is down. They were working on a way to destroy the crystal. Check for survivors.
Priory Guardian: You there...charr...we need your help.

Clearing the Priory team's area of undead:

Priory Guardian: We failed. Take this potion...it'll destroy Rissa's crystal. You have to...finish it...
Necromancer Rissa: Their screams were...chilling.

Engaging Rissa:

Rytlock Brimstone: You've caused us a lot of trouble, hag. Your death is long overdue.
Necromancer Rissa: I'll bury you in a field of corpses!
Necromancer Rissa: Enough! I'll deal with you myself.

Using the potion on the crystal:

Rytlock Brimstone: It's done. Korukhan, Centurion, let's move out before this thing blows.

After destroying the dragon crystal:

Korukhan the Blacksmith: Well done! There were losses here today, but we did manage to stop the necromancer from drowning us in undead.
Rytlock Brimstone: It's not enough. The Orrian dragon is still out there, and it's going go keep making undead until the world drowns in them.
<Character name>: Then it's time to take the offensive. This dragon is our target, just like the crystal was. We kill it, we cut off the flow of Orrian undead at its source.
Korukhan the Blacksmith: That's too ambitious initiate. The Order of Whispers is dedicated to stopping all the dragons, but we don't have the resources for direct confrontation.
Rytlock Brimstone: Don't tell me about dragons, blacksmith. Ever heard of Destiny's Edge? I was a member. We nearly took down an Elder Dragon all on our own.
<Character name>: We should find out what they know. Their experience could prove invaluable.
Rytlock Brimstone: You're right. The charr can't do this alone. Fortunately, I heard from one of my old guildmates. She wants to meet in Lion's Arch about that very thing.
Korukhan the Blacksmith: Lion's Arch is also your next stop, initiate. There's a Whispers contact waiting with your first official mission. Look for a vendor selling apples...and good luck.
Rytlock Brimstone: I'll keep an eye out for you in the city. If we're lucky, we'll get another chance to fight together. Do the Legions proud, soldier. Dismissed!

After the cinematic:

Your warband member:
Clawspur: Korukhan told me how he strangled a human noble with her own scarf. My kind of guy.
Dinky: Joke time, Korukhan! How many spies does it take to keep a secret? Shhhhheven!
Euryale: If Korukhan tells one more fake blacksmithing story, he'll be whispering out of the slash in his neck.
Maverick: Korukhan may be suave and handsome, but with me around, that's just redundant.
Reeva: I like Korukhan, but he doesn't show his teeth when he smiles. I've heard you shouldn't trust lip-smilers.

Talking to your warband members:

Clawspur: If I'm in charge, they'd better learn to listen. I don't like repeating myself.
Talk end option tango.png No worries. They'll adjust to your chatty style in no time. Good luck, Legionnaire.
Dinky: You've got this leadership thing down, boss. I'll never live up to your example. Are you sure about leaving me in charge?
Talk end option tango.png Absolutely. You can rely on this warband and thy can rely on you, Dinky.
Euryale: Let me be blunt: I'd rather you were staying with us. But if you're my Centurion, this legionnaire is ready to lead our warband to greatness.
Talk end option tango.png Blunt, Euryale? You? Just go easy on your subordinates. You need them alive.
Maverick: This is a real turning point: you're poised to make a big splash as a Vigil[sic] recruit, and I'm poised to become the sexiest legionnaire in the entire charr army...present company excepted, of course.
Talk end option tango.png Just remember, Mav: a good leader stops talking every now and then to listen.
Reeva: Well, at least that's over. If and when I see Howl in the Mists, I hope he'll understand why we couldn't leave him like that.
Talk end option tango.png He'll understand. We couldn't leave Howl undead, and we won't leave Rissa alive.
Yahuk Fellstrike: Good luck in Lion's Arch, boss. We'll keep things going while you're away and live up to the standard you've set.
Talk end option tango.png That's all I need. Thanks soldier, and good luck.
Wroda the Quick: I pretended to be Blood so long I actually felt like one of them. This is different, though. I am one of you. Thanks for everything, boss.
Talk end option tango.png All the thanks I need is you, in this warband, giving your all.
Elexus Shredskin: Thanks again for taking me in, Centurion. I'll do my best to make sure this warband lives up to your high standards.
Talk end option tango.png Treat your new legionnaire right, and you're well on your way.
Soure Doomsday: Before you go, I just wanted to say thanks. I owe this warband everything, and I'll follow our new legionnaire like I followed you.
Talk end option tango.png Good. I expect greatness from you and the entire warband. Don't let me down.
Fyon the Wraith: We're going to miss you, boss. You and your warband saved my life when I was ready to throw it away. I'll never forget that.
Talk end option tango.png Good. I'm still your centurion, so I expect you to keep up the good work, old-timer.
Luccia Wildeye: With my hearing, I just hope the new legionnaire is as patient as you. Make sure everyone knows that I'm not just ignoring them, okay?
Talk end option tango.png You're in good hands, Luccia. Do right by the warband and make me proud.
Zemzer Undercut: It won't be the same without you, boss. I'm in this warband for life, but I'll never forget that you put it together and made it great.
Talk end option tango.png I expect you to help the new legionnaire make it greater. Dismissed!

My story[edit]

Convincing the Faithful.jpg

I helped Korukhan and the Order of Whispers destroy the dragon crystal. We also defeated the necromancer Rissa and the undead monstrosity that she made out of my dead warbandmate, Howl the Brazen. Korukhan told me that my new Order of Whispers mentor is waiting in Lion's Arch, and I agreed to go there to begin my training as a Whispers initiate.

Notes[edit]

  • Iron legion characters that completed Deadly Force receive Zemzer Undercut instead of Cimmara Pistolwhip as an ally.
  • Samona Ironclaw does not appear at all for Ash legion characters who have completed Iron Grip of the Legion.
  • Cimmara Pistolwhip may show up even if you are not Iron Legion, and thus could not recruit her. She may also duplicate.
