Walkthrough[edit]
Talk to Crusader Hiroki to initiate the cutscene. She will direct you to protect the queen. Talk to Queen Jennah and a cutscenee appears with Corporal Kellach. Be ready - when the dialogue ends, another cutscene will trigger and the battle will begin.
When the fight begins, Countess Anise is next to Queen Jennah. The two Shining Blade will be just in front of the Queen and Countess, on either side of the bridge you crossed to approach to the throne. Logan Thackeray, Crusader Hiroki, and 4 Vigil Crusaders will be between the entrance to the throne room and the approach bridge.
Don't worry about Queen Jennah, she'll be safe. The fighting NPCs are generally going to just slow down the Risen and do some damage to them. You can go from group to group killing them - there won't be that many. Unfortunately, Logan and the tightly clumped Vigil members are perfect targets for the Risen Plague Carriers' explosions, if you are unlucky enough to get some; you may find yourself quickly down several allies.
However, as Kellach does not target Queen Jennah as long as there are other combatants and Queen Jennah would constantly revive allies, it is entirely possible to stay back and Kellach would be defeated.
The final cutscene will trigger when the last Risen is defeated (not when Kellach goes down - don't focus all your fire on him to the exclusion of all other foes).

Dialogue[edit]
Talking to NPCs before Hiroki:
- Countess Anise: The Shining Blade guards the Queen of Kryta. Nothing that comes through that door will touch her, I swear it.
- Are the Shining Blade part of the Seraph, or the Ministry?
- The Shining Blade serve as personal guard to the throne. For generations, we have protected and advised the rulers of Kryta.
- I'm glad the queen has such loyal guards. May I ask another question?
- Thank you for reminding me.
- Countess Anise? You can fight?
- Fight? Darling, I devastate. If any of Kellach's minions approach my queen, I assure you, you'll see exactly what I'm capable of doing.
- I'm sure we will! May I ask another question?
- I'll keep that in mind.
- Logan Thackeray: Jennah's in danger. Stay alert, and if you have an extra moment, be sure to pray. May Lyssa keep her safe!
- You really love her, don't you?
- It's that obvious, huh? Yes I do. I would gladly give my live for her. She's everything to me.
- She means more to you than Kryta?
- Even in my darkest days, her smile gives me hope. If there is purpose in my life, it is to keep her safe. She is Kryta, in my eyes.
- We'll keep her safe. I swear it.
- That's lovely. I hope everything works out for you two, Logan. Good luck.
- I'm sure the Gods will watch over us all.
Cinematic with Hiroki:
- Crusader Hiroki: Good to see you, Recruit! It's an honor to have you among the Vigil.
- <Character name>: I'm proud to be part of the Order. What's our strategy?
- Crusader Hiroki: Stand the line. Defend the queen. Destroy Kellach, and the army that follows him.
- Logan Thackeray: Vigil's soldiers will make all the difference. Hiroki, on behalf of Queen Jennah and her Seraph, I thank you.
- Crusader Hiroki: Give the queen our best regards, Captain...but let's be clear. The Vigil fights for more than Queen Jennah, more than Kryta.
- Crusader Hiroki: In the war against the dragons, all Tyrian nations must rise up as one. Only through our combined strength will Tyria defeat Zhaitan.
- Crusader Hiroki: Queen Jennah brings peace and hope - to her people, and to Tyria. May her life be spared, and her kingdom sheltered from Orrian evil.
- Logan Thackeray: I see that Vigil's dedication to duty is as unwavering as your honor. The Advocate will be right at home in your order.
- <Character name>: It's time to defend our home. Today, we defeat Kellach. Tomorrow, Orr.
- Logan Thackeray: Well said, my friend.
- Crusader Hiroki: You got here just in time, Recruit. Any last questions, or are you ready to fight?
- Are all of the Vigil soldiers in Divinity's Reach mustered here?
- This is everyone I could summon on short notice. We have soldiers in outlying areas, but they won't reach the city in time.
- Then it will have to be enough. Can I ask another question?
- It will be enough. We're the Vigil; the finest fighting fore in Tyria!
- Any news on Kellach's location?
- The Shining Blade said that he broke into the palace cellars through a secret entrance near the Northern Waterways. He could be here at any moment.
- I'll keep my eyes open for him, then. Can I ask another question?
- Even insane, Kellach is one tricky guy. We'll be ready when he gets here.
- So what's the plan?
- The plan is simple. When Kellach reaches this room, we give him one chance to surrender. If he doesn't, we destroy him.
- That works for me. Can I ask another question?
- Good. I'll double-check my gear, and wait for our visitor to arrive.
- I'm ready to kick Kellach from here to the Black Citadel. For Vigil, and the Queen!
As Kellach arrives:
- Queen Jennah: Look out!
Cinematic with Kellach:
- Corporal Kellach: Your Majesty...Queen Jennah...
- Corporal Kellach: Listen to me! Let me close. I won't hurt you...I...I just need your blood. This is for Kryta. For Kryta!
- <Character name>: Corporal Kellach, stand down! You're not thinking clearly. Drop your weapons and surrender.
- Corporal Kellach: No. I need her blood! Royal blood. Don't you understand? It can cure the corruption. Make us all free!
- <Character name>: It's not true. Alastia Crow lied to you, Kellach. She did this just to endanger the queen.
- Corporal Kellach: No...no, you're wrong. There has to be a way. Tell me!
- Corporal Kellach: I'll kill you all to save Kryta. I'll kill you all!
When the battle begins:
- Corporal Kellach: No. You won't stop me!
- Logan Thackeray: For the queen! Charge!
Cinematic after defeating Kellach:
- <Character name>: Poor Kellach. His mistakes were rooted in his love for queen and country.
- Logan Thackeray: So many mistakes...made for all the right reasons. The queen could have been killed by someone who loved her. Even...I mean, it really makes you think.
- <Character name>: It's all right, Logan. The queen is safe. Focus on the future, and Kryta will stay safe, too.
- Crusader Hiroki: As General Almorra says, "Some must fight, so that all may be free." Recruit, you proved your strength and honor today.
- Crusader Hiroki: You should head for the Vigil chapterhouse in Lion's Arch. There, you'll get your first formal mission for the order.
- <Character name>: I look forward to it, Hiroki. It's time to be part of a bigger world.
- <Character name>: Logan, are you all right? You seem rattled.
- Logan Thackeray: I'm glad Jennah's safe, but I realize now that her safety is temporary. Everything is temporary, unless the dragons can be stopped.
- Logan Thackeray: The dragons can't be defeated by one person, or even one nation. There has to be another way.
- Logan Thackeray: Do you think we can overcome our mistakes, my friend? Make up for things we've done?
- <Character name>: I know we can, Logan. Mistakes make us human. It's rising up again that makes us heroes.
- Logan Thackeray: You're right. I've been too focused on keeping the queen safe. I love being at her side, but maybe that's not where I can best defend her - or Kryta.
- Logan Thackeray: An old friend named Caithe asked me to meet her at Lion's Arch. I think I'll take her up on that.
- <Character name>: I think that's an excellent idea. I'll see you in Lion's Arch!
Talking to NPCs after cinematic:
- Countess Anise: These are dangerous days, pet. I hope you are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
- Yes, Countess, I believe that I am. The Vigil will help me learn, if I'm not.
- Well said, <Character name>. Perhaps you are ready to leave the fold, after all. May Grenth keep you safe.
- Thank you, Anise. I'm sure we'll meet again one day.
- Queen Jennah: I never doubted you for an instant, Advocate. Kryta has no finer heroes than you and Captain Thackeray.
- Speaking of Captain Thackeray... it doesn't bother you that he's going to Lion's Arch?
- I'm worried, I'll admit. Caithe has never been trustworthy in the best of times, and lately... please, tell me you'll watch over him?
- You know that you could stop him, right? One word from you, and he'd stay.
- No, Advocate. I have enough servants—I want a partner. Logan must be free to make his own decisions. I made such a mistake once before. I won't make it again.
- Well said, Your Majesty. May I ask another question?
- Of course.
- I will miss serving Kryta, Your Majesty. I hope you don't think it was wrong of me to join an order.
- Wrong? No. As much as I wish you could stay, a hero of your caliber must be free to explore the world. I wish you luck, Advocate.
- [sic] Thank you, ma'am. May I ask another question?
- That's very kind of you, Your Majesty. No matter where I go, my home will still be here.
- I'm glad you're safe, Your Majesty. If you'll excuse me, duty calls.
- Crusader Hiroki: Bravely fought! I'll send a letter of commendation to Lion's Arch. I think General Almorra will be taking a personal interest in you.
- General Almorra? Who is that?
- General Almorra Soulkeeper's the founder and leader of the Vigil. Don't act too surprised when you meet her—she's a charr.
- A charr leads the Vigil? Really? I thought they never left their legions.
- Usually, that's true. But Almorra's story is unique... but I think I'll let her tell it. Travel safely, Recruit!
- [sic] I'll have to be patient, then. Can I ask another question?
- I can't wait to hear the tale! Take, care, Hiroki.
- The General's a charr? Wow, I look forward to meeting her. Thanks for telling me, Hiroki.
- What's the next step, now that I'm a member of the Vigil?
- You'll meet with the General. She'll assign you a mentor, to instruct you in our protocol and regulations.
- Mentor? Who will that be?
- I look forward to learning more about my order. Take care, Hiroki.
- Logan's asked me to meet him in Lion's Arch. Is that all right?
- Of course. I'll make sure your commission is routed through there, but you should head to Vigil Keep after the meeting.
- I'm glad to hear that. Can I ask another question, Hiroki?
- I will, Hiroki. Good-bye!
- I look forward to a long and glorious career with the Vigil. Take care, Hiroki!
- Logan Thackeray: Blessed Lyssa, thank you for your mercy. Kryta's queen is safe once more.
- Queen Jennah was very brave. Were you really that worried, Logan.
- She is my queen, and my love. Of course I worry. Even when there's no Kellach banging at her door...I keep an eye out for trouble.
- Fair enough. Can I ask you another question?
- You're a good man, Logan. I hope you find a way to be happy together.
- Tell me more about this friend you mentioned - Caithe. Who is she?
- Caithe is a sylvari. She was a scout in my old adventuring fellowship, Destiny's Edge.
- Scout? What do you mean "scout?"
- She is a rogue, and a clever one. When our group fell apart...I guess she never really accepted it. She acts as if we're just taking a break between missions.
- Can I ask you more about Caithe? (back one step)
- Can I ask a different question? (back two steps)
- Thank you for everything, Logan. I'll see you in Lion's Arch.
- Do you trust this sylvari?
- Yes...and no. Caithe is not my enemy, but she doesn't understand what happened, or that Destiny's Edge is no more.
- Can I ask you more about Caithe? (back one step)
- Can I ask a different question? (back two steps)
- Thank you for everything, Logan. I'll see you in Lion's Arch.
- Why does she want to meet you in Lion's Arch? Why not in Divinity's Reach?
- Lion's Arch is where it all began. She probably thinks if I see it again, I'll want to get the old group back together. She's...stubborn.
- Can I ask you more about Caithe? (back one step)
- Can I ask a different question? (back two steps)
- Thank you for everything, Logan. I'll see you in Lion's Arch.
- What do you think Caithe wants?
- It's like she's discovered something new about the dragons. If I can convince her to tell me, it might benefit Kryta—and the Queen.
- That's an excellent goal. If I can help, just let me know.
- Thanks, Logan. I'll see you in Lion's Arch.
- You said that Caithe wanted to meet you in Lion's Arch. Anywhere in the city, in particular?
- The Trader's Forum. It's where we first decided to form Destiny's Edge. I'm sure that's on purpose.
- I'll meet you there. Travel safely, Logan.
- Thank you for everything, Logan. I'll see you in Lion's Arch.
