Walkthrough[edit]

  1. After speaking to Crusher Dan, go kill all the drakes in and around the pool in the cavern.
  2. Speak to Crusher Dan again and he'll tell you to go back outside to kill a big skale. Look for a stone on which to place a bait. That will cause Ol' Skabfin the skale to come out of the lake.
  3. Go back to Crusher Dan and he will direct you to Doc Howler.
  4. Regardless of the conversation approach, you will be directed to head up the path into the Shaemoor graveyard to collect some herbs.
  5. Look for plants on the ground, there are three of them; one of them is the one Doc Howler wants. Watch out for the grubs - their poison can be dangerous if you engage more than 1 or 2 of them at once.
  6. Go back to Doc Howler and she will direct you to Riot Alice.
  7. Go through the conversation with her, agreeing with her in order to get information about their plan. Do not make her angry, or she will turn hostile and attack you.
  8. Once you're done, go back to the Seraph Headquarters and speak with Logan Thackeray.

At the end of this mission you have to make a choice: Save Quinn or Stop the gang from poisoning the wells.

Dialogue[edit]

Open World[edit]

Talking to the Seraph Archer:

Seraph Archer: Ah, <Character name>. Captain Logan said I should expect you. The bandits you're looking for have a base nearby. You'll find it if you go down this hill and swim across the lake. Good luck!
Talk end option tango.png Thanks for your help.

Beggar's Burrow[edit]

Cinematic upon entering hideout:

Crusher Dan: Look what the skritt dragged in. Who are you?
<Character name>: I'm new. Just got sprung and I'm eager to prove myself. Pete said to check around and make myself useful.
Crusher Dan: Good. There's plenty to be done. Just make sure you stay out of the way. And if nobody else has anything for you, check back with me. I'll put you to work.

Talking to Crusher Dan after cinematic:

Crusher Dan: Think, you're tough enough for the gang? Y'think you can buddy up to ol' Crusher Dan by strolling in, easy as you please?
Talk quest option tango.png I'm tougher than three of you put together.
Oh really? Can you walk that talk? The river is full of drakes. If you’re so tough, clear 'em out.
Talk quest option tango.png And you're gonna do what? Watch?
You got a problem with that? You're the one with something to prove. Now get going!
Talk quest option tango.png Fine, fine.
Talk end option tango.png No problem.

Talking to Crusher Dan after killing drakes:

Crusher Dan: So you taught those drakes a thing or two. So what? They were a bunch of pushovers. I'm still not impressed.
Talk quest option tango.png Give me another challenge, then. You got something stronger around here?
Maybe. There's a skale we call Ol'Skabfin in the lake outside the cave. You kill that mean old cuss and you might earn my respect. Think you can manage it?
Talk quest option tango.png I can do it, easy. How do I find this big skale?
Skale can't resist fresh meat. Put some bait on the rocks outside the cave, and he’ll find you. Make sure you say your prayers first.
Talk quest option tango.png When I come back, you’ll eat your words. Watch and see.

Talking to Crusher Dan before killing Skabfin:

Crusher Dan: Hey! I told you to put the meat out, and I know you didn't because...look, I just know, okay? Heh. Now go do it!
Talk end option tango.png Fine, fine. I'm going.

Placing the bait on the rocks:

Rocks: The rocks are bloodstained and streaked with claw marks.
Talk combat option tango.png Place the meat on the rocks.

Talking to Crusher Dan after killing Skabfin:

Crusher Dan: So Ol'Skabfin won't be bothering anyone else? Ha! You’re good. I'm impressed.
Talk more option tango.png Put any heist in front of me, and I’ll handle it. No matter how dangerous of difficult.
The next job's an easy one: looting merchants in Divinity's Reach. Just sit tight, and we'll tell you more soon.
Talk quest option tango.png Yay, looting. I love looting. Can't wait.
Talk more option tango.png If you're so impressed, why don’t you let me in on the details of the gang next job?
Well...don't tell anyone else, but we're headed to the big time. Smack dad inside Divinity's Reach. That’s all I'll say, but be ready. We leave soon.
Talk quest option tango.png Now that's bold. I can't wait to be a part of the heist.
Talk quest option tango.png Glad to hear it. Now how about telling me what's next?
All you need to know is that those merchants in Divinity's Reach are in for a big surprise.
Talk quest option tango.png Sounds like a big job. And right under the noses of the Seraph? I like it.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be a good addition to the team. You'll see.

Talking to Crusher Dan again:

Crusher Dan: Still bugging me? Look, show-off, I told you all you need to know. When it's time to do the job, you'll know more. Not before that.
Talk end option tango.png Right. Guess I'll go entertain myself elsewhere, then.

Approaching campfire:

Bandit Highwayman: It's almost time! I'm so excited. I've never done anything this important before.

Talking to Doc Howler:

Doc Howler: Careful! I'm doing delicate work here. If I squeeze the wrong seedpod, we'll all be breathing aggressive pollen. Disaster! Side effects! Possible uncontrolled explosions!
Talk quest option tango.png What is this stuff? What are you making?
What? You probably can’t tell a swamp lily from a fire poppy. Hah! Or a swamp lily from an ettin's backside.
Talk more option tango.png Take that tone again, and I'll show you the back side of my hand.
Fine. If it's botany you seek, head up that ramp, all the way to the graveyard. Bring me a wicked tangle, and I'll share my precious knowledge.
Talk quest option tango.png I can do that. I'll be back.
Talk more option tango.png I'd be lucky to have an expert like you teach me. (Same as above)
Talk more option tango.png It's not smart to judge a flower by its color. (Same as above)
Talk quest option tango.png I was about to offer my assistance, but now.... (Same as above)
Talk end option tango.png It's not that I don't know, it's that I don't care. Bye.

Talking to Bandit Guard:

Bandit Guard: Slow down there, slick. We all want action, but it you cause a ruckus you'll end up floating in the river.
Talk more option tango.png What's the plan?
If you don't know, it ain't my place to say. Maybe you could guard while I go raid. If you really want to know, ask one of the higher ups. Me, I'm nobody.
Talk more option tango.png Who are the higher ups? Aside from Pete, I mean. (Same as "Who's in charge around here? Aside from Pete, I mean.")
Talk more option tango.png You don't seem happy about standing guard. (Same as "You don't seem terribly happy about standing guard.")
Talk end option tango.png That won't be necessary. Good-bye.
Talk more option tango.png Who's in charge around here? Aside from Pete, I mean.
Pay attention, kid. Crusher Dan's the muscle. Riot Alice is the brains, and Doc Howler... well let's just say she makes potions and stuff.
Talk more option tango.png You don't seem happy about standing guard. (Same as "You don't seem terribly happy about standing guard.")
Talk more option tango.png You can't tell me anything about the plan? (Same as "What's the plan?"
Talk end option tango.png Talk to you later.
Talk more option tango.png You don't seem terribly happy about standing guard.
Guard duty's never a barrel of laughs, especially before a big job. It's like I get hornets in my gut. You know what I mean?
Talk more option tango.png C'mon. Tell me about the plan? (Same as "What's the plan?"
Talk more option tango.png Who are the higher ups again? (Same as "Who's in charge around here? Aside from Pete, I mean.")
Talk end option tango.png Yeah, I know. Keep up the good work.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks for the warning.

Interacting with the various Unidentified Plants:

Unidentified Plant: This weed resembles common grass. It has white, broom-like flowers and grows all over the area.
Talk end option tango.png Leave it alone.
Unidentified Plant: The plant has coal-black stems and leaves, and the tiny gray flowers resemble ash motes. It grows all over the countryside.
Talk end option tango.png Leave it alone.
Unidentified Plant: These yellow flowers have a spot of orange at their centers. The cheery blooms are common throughout Queensdale.
Talk end option tango.png Leave it alone.
Unidentified Plant: This plant has thorns growing on its twisting stems. Its purple-blue flowers have a sickly-sweet aroma. This must be a wicked tangle.
Talk quest option tango.png Take a cutting.

Talking to Doc Howler with flower:

Doc Howler: Did you bring me the wicked tangle?
Talk quest option tango.png This spiny stuff?
Superb. Good thing you found it. Need it for the antidote. Two-Blade wanted extra-strong poisons, so the antidote has to be equivalent.
Talk quest option tango.png Poison? Exactly how strong is this poisons?
Don't worry. The gang'll be fine with the antidote. Only the fine, upstanding Divinity’s Reach citizens will suffer.
Talk quest option tango.png I'd better get out of your way.

Talking to Doc Howler again:

Doc Howler: Hey, look at that! A lot of people can't tell a pine tree from a porcupine. Good job, you.
Talk more option tango.png Your work with these plants is amazing. Why are you wasting your time with these bandits instead of becoming a real apothecary?
I tried that once, but it didn't work out. You'd be amazed how finicky the Seraph are about licenses. One mistakenly poisoned beagle, and bam! You're done.
Talk end option tango.png Yeah. That's really picky, I guess. Talk to you later.
Talk more option tango.png I can't believe you work with that guy Dan. He just called you a no good flower-sniffer.
He what? That musclebound skunk! The next time he goes swimming in the lake, I'll rub rashberry juice in his underwear. That'll teach him.
Talk end option tango.png I think that's a perfect revenge. Have fun.
Talk end option tango.png I do my best. See ya.

Talking to Riot Alice

Riot Alice: Allowing our nation to be run by an oligarchy invites tyranny and corruption. The queen's divine right, my eye.
Talk quest option tango.png Yeah! The queen's always mucking things up.
In your enlightened opinion, would Kryta be better served by a ruling body like the ministry or by disbanding all forms of authority?
Talk quest option tango.png The ministry isn't so bad. They got me out of prison. (Same as "Explain what you mean.")
Talk quest option tango.png Disband all ruling bodies! I'm my own authority.
Well said! I'll be proud to stand next to you at the well in Grenth's Spoke for Two-Blade Pete's plan.
Talk quest option tango.png Grenth's Spoke you say? Good to know. Thanks.
Talk end option tango.png Let's continue this discussion later.
Talk quest option tango.png Explain what you mean.
Why should any one person or small group have so much power over the others? When we overthrow the government, the Krytan people will be free.
Talk quest option tango.png You think anarchy is the answer? (Same as "Where would we be without our queen?")
Talk quest option tango.png I like the sound of that. Sign me up. (Same as "Yeah! The queen's always mucking things up.")
Talk quest option tango.png Where would we be without our queen?
You're obviously swallowed by their propaganda. I don't have time to open your mind. Pay attention when the revolution comes, or it will run you over.
Talk back option tango.png Don't be angry. Explain it to me again?
Talk combat option tango.png How about I open your mind with a sharp blow to the skull?
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about it some more.
Talk end option tango.png Let's continue this later.

After fighting Riot Alice if combat option chosen:

Riot Alice: Wait! The bloated government is the enemy, not me! Anarchy is our only choice. Join me in arms after the Grenth's Spoke mission, and we'll tear down the establishment.
Talk quest option tango.png The mission at Grenth's Spoke? Interesting.

Cinematic after talking to Riot Alice:

Riot Alice: Wait a second. You look really familiar.
<Character name>: I... yeah. I used to run with Pete a long time ago. I just got back. It's not like it used to be.
Riot Alice: Yeah, Pete's not the man I thought he was. He doesn't care about the struggle at all. Just gold.
<Character Name>: Why don't you get out? It's possible, if you want it bad enough.
Riot Alice: I've been thinking about it, believe me. Best not to talk here, though. Hey, stay out of trouble. Maybe I'll see you again.

Talking to Riot Alice again

Riot Alice: Kryta's on the verge of a revolution. Not just a military one, but a revolution in the people's hearts. We're tired of being lied to. Tired of being led.
Talk more option tango.png What do you mean? What revolution?
Queen Jennah can't control the populace. They're begging for the truth and she won't give it to them. Eventually, they will rise up and force it from her.
Talk more option tango.png Have you always been this political? (Same as below)
Talk more option tango.png Have you always been this political?
My father was a playwright. My mother was from Lion's Arch. When she died, he brought me to Divinity's Reach. Dad was a brilliant writer, but no one would buy his plays. We barely had enough money to survive.
Talk more option tango.png What happened?
The collapse happened. I was out of the house, but I lost my father—his plays—everything. Why? The queen won't tell us. And the Shining Blade won't allow anyone close to the fissure. They're hiding something, and I won't rest until I find out what it is. For my father's sake.
Talk end option tango.png Thank you for telling me. I'll remember your story. Good-bye.

At The Upper City[edit]

Talking to Anise before Logan:

Countess Anise: Our clever friend has returned! Captain Thackeray and I are looking forward to your report.
Talk end option tango.png I have a lot to tell you both, my lady.

Cinematic with Logan:

<Character name>: I found out what Two-Blade Pete is planning. He and his gang are going to poison the city well.
<Character name>: While everyone's sick, they'll break into the shops and steal whatever they want.
Countess Anise: Devious. He's going to hurt a lot of innocent people: women...children. Pete has to be stopped.
Logan Thackeray: It gets worse. My sources tell me Pete knows where Quinn is hiding. The gang thinks Quinn snitched about the apothecary job.
Logan Thackeray: Two-Blade Pete's a loose cannon. Your friend is in danger. You need to get Quinn out of there before he gets hurt.
Countess Anise: I disagree. You can't put one person's life over the well-being of the city.
Logan Thackeray: One person or many. Think about it.

After the cinematic:

Logan Thackeray: I've had to make tough choices like this before. I just hope yours works out better than mine.

Talking to Logan:

Logan Thackeray: I know you're up against a difficult decision, but we haven't much time.
Talk quest choice tango.png Quinn's my friend, but I can't let innocents die. I have to think of the good of the many.
Are you sure? Once you make a decision, you can't take it back.
Talk quest option tango.png I'm sure.
You're doing the right thing. Head to Grenth's Spoke. I'll meet you there with a Seraph squad.
Talk quest option tango.png Understood.
Talk back option tango.png I want to change my mind.
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about it some more. Give me a moment.
Talk quest choice tango.png I can't abandon a friend even if he's an idiot. I'm going to save Quinn.
Talk quest option tango.png I'm sure.
I understand. I had friends once that I would have sacrificed a lot for, too. But that... was a long time ago. Good luck with Quinn. I'll see you soon.
Talk quest option tango.png Thank you. I'll be back.
Talk back option tango.png I want to change my mind.
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about it some more. Give me a moment.
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about it some more. Give me a moment.

Talking to Logan and Anise after choosing to abandon Quinn:

Logan Thackeray: Friendship or duty? I know how hard that decision was for you. Sometimes, the path of a hero isn't as clear as we'd like it to be.
Dignity I've given Quinn every chance to get off the streets. I can't protect him anymore—not when innocent lives are at risk.
You're sacrificing your friend's safety for the people of Divinity's Reach. That's very noble of you.
Talk end option tango.png That's the first time anyone's ever called me "noble." Thanks, Captain.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks, Captain. I'll see you at Grenth's Spoke.
Countess Anise: A pity that Quinn didn't listen to you. We think we know someone, and then they disappoint us. Do be careful at Grenth's Spoke, pet. You're far too valuable to lose.
Talk end option tango.png I wish Quinn would come, but he has to make his own decisions.

Talking to Logan and Anise after choosing to save Quinn:

Logan Thackeray: I know how it felt for you to make that decision. Sometimes the path of a hero isn't a [sic] clear as we'd like it to be.
Talk more option tango.png You do? How did you make up your mind?
In the end I had to follow my heart. Just like you.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks, Captain. It's good to know you understand.
Talk more option tango.png No choice is ever clear when you live on the streets. We just do the best we can and hope to survive.
You lived a hard life. Quinn's lucky to have a friend like you. Good luck.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks, Captain. I'll see you soon.
Countess Anise: A difficult choice: your friend or the people of Divinity's Reach. Friendship or duty? I don't envy your having to make that decision. I hope Quinn is grateful.
Dignity Quinn's been my friend since childhood. On the streets, one good friend's worth a thousand indifferent connections. It's how I was raised—we rely on each other.
I understand. You have the luxury to do as you please, whereas I am bound by my duty to the queen. I wish you well, pet.
Talk end option tango.png Thank you, Countess.
Talk more option tango.png Whether he is or not, I can't change my decision.
Ah, understanding that shows true wisdom. You continue to impress me, pet.
Talk end option tango.png Thank you.
Talk end option tango.png I'm just doing what I think is best. That's all anyone can do.

My story[edit]

Seraph Headquarters loading screen.jpg

The Seraph archer told about a bandit cave down by the lake.

The gang didn't recognize the disguised me, which made it easy to infiltrate them. Eventually, I found out they plan to poison the city's water supply. I need to tell Captain Thackeray about this.

I told Thackeray that the bandits were planning to poison the water supply. I had to choose: go with him to stop the poisoners, or go to save Quinn. It wasn't an easy decision.
